I've used Joel three times, a refinance of our condo, a purchase of our single family home in Santa…read moreBarbara, and just recently a refinance of that home as rates dropped. The first two times I used him were at his old company McAdams, but just recently I used him with Priority. He is just getting better and better at navigating all of these mortgage rules and forms that keep piling up. He has something like 30+ years of experience, so he knows what he is doing. When Joel switched to Priority I had a hard time finding him and actually contacted Union Bank and a lender on Zillow. Union Bank wanted $500 up-front to start the application, it would get absorbed into the escrow if I was approved, but there was no guarantee I would be approved. The Zillow place was typical Zillow, quote a rate that is .25% lower than elsewhere, but when you actually apply find out that rate was for totally vanilla situations. If you have anything not vanilla such as a Schedule C business and deductions, suddenly they realize you aren't a slam dunk and either drop you or raise your rate. With Joel I know he isn't going to get started on something unless he knows he can see it through at the rate and fees he told you to begin with. I like a no-fee re-fi and he has delivered on that both times, even if he had to eat a bit out of his pocket to make it happen. He is the most pro-active broker I have used, and I've talked to close to a dozen in the last 8 years. The dude knows his stuff and I'm happy to have him on my side the next time we need him.

After three weeks of no contact I had to move on to a plan B, but that burned three weeks of my time. I had two legal obligations with time limits and I needed the go / no-go word on a loan. When you go for a mortgage you know timeliness is important. I wouldn't recommend Diana to anyone. Ghosting someone is incredibly unprofessional and obviously would be completely unacceptable if you're at risk of losing a deposit.
