One teller. Sometimes a dozen or more customers in line. Wait times pushing 30 minutes or more for even the most basic transaction. The most frustrating part? There is one kind, hardworking young teller behind the counter doing everything she possibly can while absorbing the frustration of a room full of angry customers. This is not her fault, this is 100% a management and corporate staffing failure. This is the closest branch to my home and should be a flagship location given its prime downtown Menlo Park address and affluent client base. Instead, it feels neglected, understaffed, and poorly run. It is genuinely shocking that a bank of this size and reputation allows this experience to continue. Who would willingly stand in line for 30 minutes to do banking in this day and age? The answer is nobody. Banking should be efficient, professional, and respectful of customers' time, especially long-standing, high-tier clients. This branch accomplishes none of that. I now actively avoid coming here, and frankly, I am considering taking my business elsewhere because of how consistently bad this experience is. Bank of America should be ashamed that this is the face it presents in Menlo Park. Until staffing and leadership change, I cannot recommend this branch to anyone.

Second time, I stopped in to CLOSE my account. Found it unnecessary for me to have 2 bank accounts and I didn't even use this one. They gave me no hassle or fuss about closing with them. The Branch Operations Lead Elizabeth Avendano told me I could not make the deposit? She said she did not have room in her vault for the small box of dimes I had? I told her I was picking up a larger box from her so she should have room? She replied " I do not care what you say I am not taking your coin for deposit". She was very rude and arrogant in her reply to me. She offered no help or solution, like calling another bank for me to go to. I was totally embarrassed in front of other customers as if I had done something wrong. Other customers were offended by her attitude as well. On my way out the door one guy told me to ignore her and just go to his Chase bank in Woodside. He said he goes there all the time with lots of coin and he never has any problem. In fact I did go there on a different day and they were very nice and helpful. I deposited 3 boxes of coins. I can say in my 50 years of banking I have never been treated so rudely and poorly by anyone in the bank. I have had personal and business accounts, was a Mortgage broker and even worked for several banks. Ms Aventano should not be dealing with customers in this manner, it is both rude and unprofessional. If I was the manager of this bank I would have fired her, because she reflects poorly on everyone working at that branch and Chase as a whole. This is my main Chase bank because it it close to my home. But I can certainly close my account and go to any one of 5 other banks within 2 blocks this branch. FYI; I have visited 5 different Chase banks in the area since this incident and deposited coin at all of them, no problem!! All the personnel at those branches were very helpful, cheerful and friendly. I now understand why this woman spends most of her time in the back room not dealing with the public.
