After trying to email "a personal banker" who no longer works there (but no bounce back from his defunct email address) I come in to find a need a weeks notice to have cash available. branch manager, won't make eye contact with me, but signaling to the cashier. I request a full investigation into the unprofessional, rude and dishonest conduct by Talia MacBeth this morning. I felt being discriminated against and harassed by her gaslighting behaviors putting words in my mouth and threatening to kick me out once I requested her to stop harassing me and stop putting words in my mouth. The manager and her male colleague resolved the situation afterwards, which was what I thought when I walked into the store. I've been a chase customer for 17 years, and I'm shocked how under trained some of the bankers are, but what's unacceptable and intolerable is that attitude like Talia this morning. Not even a single bit of respect, being argumentative just for being argumentative. Private clientele bankers are supposed to build relationships with clients, like some of my private client bankers who managed a few hundred million each said, but she seemed only interested in burning bridges. Talia could've simply made a call with the back office, or to humble discuss with her team, instead of giving me the wrong answers and being rude to her customer. It ended up wasting me an hour at the bank, only to find out that I was right to begin with. The branch is friendly , even EVERYONE greets you by name when you come in . They even know who your spouse is and inquire how they are doing. I've had nothing but exemplary service for many years here. Parking is sometimes a challenge , but that is not the banks fault . read more

I had one bad experience at this bank. I asked a teller if there is a difference in "holds" between depositing a check through the ATM vs a teller. She answered tartly "No", as if I was supposed to know that and that I was stupid for asking. As a former Washington Mutual employee, this is a valid question. Many banking customers do not know that there are holds on a check. I try to use to only use ATMs. I don't have to worry about bad customer service. read more

From a student's perspective, CHASE is a great banking option. Especially now that they have begun to expand locations, I am glad I switched from my previous banking institution. The major win for CHASE, they offer a student VISA card with Amazon.com rewards options (among the regular cash back and gifts). That's enough said in my book to make this Student friendly. APR is same as other institutions, but you get the awesome rewards even as a student banker. Additionally it's nice having checking/savings accounts and credit cards linked and visible all under one online banking experience. read more

Do NOT open up a business banking account with this Chase branch. No problems with the personal banking but the business rep is terrible: poor communication skills, horrible customer service, couldn't even do the most basic tasks like giving a customer all the forms to sign in one sitting and has the customer go back to the bank TWICE and tells customer that customer "forgot" to sign. Tried to get a refi here twice, failed both times and ended up wasting 6 months and about .5 points of my time and money I should mention that I have a 700+ credit score and my income level is well above the min range to get a refi done. Debt to equity was less than 30%. Anything under 45% is a good enough rating to get a loan. 1st time refi- Everything was going smoothly until a Chase lawyer stepped in at the 11th hour and informed me that I needed some adtional documents from the State in order to finalize this refi. This was mentioned to me when there was only about 5 days left on this refi window when I was told everything was done (nice timing). I was told by the loan officer that it would be best to re-apply in 60 days once I got all the paperwork which ended up taking about 2 weeks so I agreed. Unfortunate but, bad luck happens once in while. I fault Chase for not informing me earlier but, this is not why they get such a bad review. This is when it goes downhill. 2nd time refi - I was eager to get this done especially since I already wasted 4 months of time. Processed all the paperwork again same as before. Got some e-mails from a senior loan processor (Mara) requesting more information (bank records, income etc.) which I responded to within 48 hours even though I thought this was odd since I already provided this information. Then comes another request for basically the same information again which I answered within 3 days (in fact I told her to reference her earlier request as well because I already provided this information) then everything goes radio silent. I started to get concerned and called the branch to talk to the loan officer about 2-3 days later and he told me that my application was terminated? No follow up or mentioning of, we are closing this file are you sure this is what you want to do not even a reason for closing the application. Thinking back I truly believe the loan processor just didn't feel like doing her job. To add a little salt in the wound during this time Chase also tried to upsell me to their private client account (something to do with consolidating accounts for high net worth clients). I was promised that this matter would be looked into and everything would be done to fix this right away. Well 4 days goes by and nothing I call back and this time I was told this was getting escalated to a manager. Then nothing again my e-mails calls were simply not returned. The two primary people that I was working with just decided since there was a screw up on their side it would be easier to ignore my requests and hope that I would stop calling and emailing and simply go away. Keep in mind in order to process a loan I had to pay $650 to start each application and those funds would be credited to the final amount once the loan closed so I'm out $1300. I could not even get my funds back from Chase. This is what I call getting ripped off... If I wanted this type of service I should of went to a kindergarten because this is the level of service I would of expected from a 5 year old. People make mistakes all the time, it is what you do to amend these mistakes is what makes the character of a person. In the end I ended up pulling all my money out of Chase and went to another bank. There are all kinds of horror stories about home loans and this one is mine. I would recommend that if you do decide to get a loan from this bank, don't and if you must make sure that the loan officer agrees to you in writing to provide updates every few days and that the loan cannot be terminated without your consent. It's no wonder so many people are getting laid off from the mortgage industry now that the rates are increasing they seem to lack basic courtesy skills and business acumen. I would give this place -5 stars if Yelp would allow me to. Buyer beware read more

Avoid. Cash advance on credit card increased from 19.99% to 25.24%. On top I was dealing with arrogant ,very unfriendly manager so I closed my checking account. I personally like Schwab (checking account )no monthly fee, friendly stuff just super customer services and no fee when you withdraw from ATM. read more

Horrible! Washington Mutual was a sooo much better, I'm done with Chase. After faudulant activity on my account was put into a tailspin with no-one at the controls; including the bank manager who told me to talk to claims after I told her that claims told me to talk to her. Cash under the mattress seems like sound money management advise after dealing with this branch/bank. read more

They love to get your business and then they cannot offer decent customer service to keep the business. The branch manager is arrogant and rude. The district manager is totally hands-off and doesn't care how the branch is managed. The 800# customer service is the worst in the banking industry. I've had better luck at the Redwood City branch. Avoid this Menlo Park branch at all costs. Better yet, close your account and try a different bank. read more

In person I got good service at this branch -- far better than the Palo Alto branch. However, it took over 15 minutes to get through to them by phone. The 800 number puts you through an interminable menu and the local number goes to an online banking central desk. Overall I find Chase systems to be onerous and customer unfriendly. Today, July 30, 2009 at 5:20pm i entered the Chase Bank to deposit a Pension Check...the check was dated for 8/1/09.....this is our bank that we have stayed with since we moved here in 1999, it was Washington Mutual and now it is Chase. When i went up to the counter and handed the check to one of the many tellers standing around , she would not allow me to deposit the check because, "she stated that the the check was two days ahead and the Bank policy only allows one day ahead to deposit the check, never heard of the bank refusing money.......maybe the Chariman of the Board would like to change this policy when a good customer like my husband and my self use this bank for our financial needs! read more

I had a couple of BAD experiences at this location. This Hispanic female teller has a serious attitude problem. I asked her to take care of some issues and she didn't handle them in a professional manner. I complained and she gave me a big attitude. She needs to be trained how to handle customers in a proper way. I wanted to complain so I called the brunch many times, but no one was picking up my calls!!! read more

NEVER GO TO THIS BRANCH! THEY STEAL. I went in to deposit cash in my debit card one afternoon and a young man helped me. I counted my cash in front of him and gave it to him, he did not give me a deposit slip or even count the money again in front of me like he should. I was late for work so I took the receipt without checking it closely and left. A few hours later I checked the receipt and the amount was marked $100 less than what I had given him. I went back the next morning thinking the young man had just made a mistake but when I got there the employees were very defensive and told me that their cashbox was balanced. The man who got my cash deposit denied the amount I had given him.They told me they were going to call me when the branch manager arrived (they never called me.) I showed up again that afternoon and talked to the manager; from the begging he was in no intention of helping me. He treated me like an idiot asking me if I was sure I had gone to that branch (even though I had the receipt with the name of the branch and cashbox). The manager told me he would pull up the camera images to check how much money I had given the young man. So I showed up again the next day to see the images but when I got there he told me he couldn't get the images because it wasn't a robbery. The manager was rude, offensive and unhelpful, he ended up telling me that if I had a problem I should go to the police department and get a police report. I closed my account and felt. . read more
