My car came with a radio. They all do these days. But was it very good? Not really.
When you know how good your music can sound and it's coming through in the car as mush, eventually you need to upgrade.
I had done my research and pretty much already knew what I was after, but it's good to see what's on offer. The unit i was looking at was available at places like JB, sure, but the folks at Northfield are experts, and their prices are on par with JB anyhow.
The guy I spoke to showed me a couple models (plenty of great stuff out there) but I went with the one I had already picked out. He didn't try to up sell me things I didn't need, was quite honest with me about the gear, with no pressure. In the end the decision was mine.
They were able to put it in right away, so I left my keys and went off to do a few things.
On my return he showed me how to use it and also hooked up my phone through the bluetooth. Too easy!
Look, is it cheaper to buy the gear online and install it yourself? Sure is.
But if you have a newer car, take a look online and see just what you have to do to get to the speakers. I'm happy to let the experts rip out my back seat and entire trim to get to the rear speakers when I get around to upgrading them. read more
