Actual garage door opener finally conked out. JR actually let me know on his first visit that the Craftsman model I had would eventually wear out due to the teeth on the gear being made of plastic. He recommended a couple models that he liked. Plus it was probably the original from when the house was built in 99. Fast forward to yesterday Dec 6. Reached out to JR first thing in the morning when I heard the motor turning but the door not moving. He showed me what garage door opener he recommended (better value than the one I was looking at) and I ran to Home Depot to get it. JR showed up that same day around noon and had it installed in about an hour. He showed me how everything worked and was on his way! My husband tried closing the garage and something was hitting the sensor so it wouldn't close. The smart man that he is kept trying to close it without moving what was in the way. Lol I guess somehow the locked latch thing was getting caught. Long story short our garage door came off the track at 1000 at night.. Northlake garage door was able to come within the hour, got the door back on the track. Was able to show my husband parts to get to replace the roller things. My garage door belt broke and I called Northlake Garage Door only because it's near to my location and ended up very happy! JR told me to send him several pics and replied very quickly that they don't have the Genie belt in stock,because he didn't want to keep me waiting, he suggested me to call Genie to get the information about authorized dealers and get the part by myself and he can install for me. But he recommended me to by a new opener, because the cost of the belt is around $100, and a new opener is around $200 only, also my old opener didn't have backup battery. I appreciate his opinion, and we set up an appointment to install the opener the following day. JR showed up with his son Roman on time, JR showed me the reason that leads to the broke of the belt and adjusted the spring for me after they installed the opener. they did a great job,very clean and tidy , which beyond's my expectations, I would definitely recommend Northlake Garage Door. read more
