If you have a cold and he can prescribe you something, he usually doesn't make you do a visit which saves you money and aggravation. The nurses are also always very nice. They do their best to get you through the labs and ready for the doctor visit. A few years ago, they had a walrus inhabiting the receptionist desk. She was pretty rude, especially during the COVID lunacy. Thankfully, she has migrated somewhere else. The ladies at the desk now are very nice and helpful.

Dr. Brown, as he calls himself, did the expected X-ray routine, after a short consultation, I uneasily agreed with his assessment... a steroid injection would cure the condition. I could barely walk an hour later, the pain was excruciating. I destroyed my shoulder a few years ago when the hang glider I was flying failed at around 200'....the pain in my foot was 10x worse.... I called Mr. Brown's office while driving home .... My initial concerns regarding the clinic became evident...My situation was a problem for them and they knew it... "We have an open space on Friday at 3:00pm, is that okay?" ..... Brown's treatment was on a Monday morning, I was out of the building around 10am...by 11am I was worried, I have a 45 - 60 minute drive left to my house and I can't feel anything but ice pick's going through my right foot.... The person I am speaking with took my information, co-payment and treatment fee 60 minutes earlier is insouciant. I was sitting smack dab in the middle of Lurleen Wallace Blvd. about to be heading Up 69N. I called and got their after hours line and just left a message anyway. It was a 3:00 ( Friday afternoon),I felt quite sure they were not going to still be there by the time I got there. To my pleasant surprise, they were still open, even had people still in the waiting room when I rumbled in like a run away freight train, explaining my plight. This angel of a lady from behind the desk smiled and assured me, I was fine; she had gotten my message but bc she knew I was in heavy traffic and I had told her in my message that I was coming " just in case" they were still there, she had not phoned me back. ( now how considerate is that). She helped me fill out the necessary paperwork and after a short wait, Dr. Jeff Brown, himself, welcomed me back to the treatment room and addressed my foot issues. He did a spectacular job. He and his receptionist are both, helpful, courteous, compassionate and truly focused on the patient's needs. They go above and beyond to make sure that you are satisfied when you leave. Dr. Brown, where have you been all my life???? 100% satisfied.

I am extremely disappointed with the way I was treated at this office. The staff was rude,…read moredismissive , and completely unprofessional from the moment I arrived. Instead of showing any concern for patients, I was simply told that the doctor had somewhere to be and the office was closing early, so I would not be seen. Patients schedule appointments and often take time off work, arrange transportation , or wait while feeling sick to be seen. Closing early because the doctor has other plans, without making every effort to accommodate patients, is unacceptable. What made the experience even worse was the attitude of the staff. There was no apology, no empathy, and no attempt to offer a reasonable solution or reschedule in a professional manner. Customer service and patient care should be a priority in any medical office. Unfortunately, this office failed on both counts. I cannot recommend this practice and hope they improve how they treat their patients

I've used Dr. Poore for years and I wouldn't exchange him for anything. Years ago I thought I had a…read morebladder infection and went to two other urologists in Tuscaloosa. I didn't have an infection so I was sent on my way to deal with the pain. Dr. Poore was recommended to me, and on the day of my appointment, I learned that he is a caring and compassionate doctor. I didn't have a bladder infection but I had unrelenting bladder pain. Dr. Poore listened to my issue and I was left to get dressed. I was surprised when he returned to the exam room, sat down, and asked me to go through my history as an urology patient. During my discussion with him, something I said triggered him to say, "I think I know how to treat you." I was diagnosed with cystitis, and he did indeed know how to treat me. Every time I have an appointment, I always see him, he sits down, and he listens to my problem. For a few years, I was away from Tuscaloosa and saw another urologist. During the six years that I went to his clinic, I saw him one time and thereafter I saw the nurse practitioner. I am very thankful and fortunate to have Dr. Poore as my urologist.
