Very tight space to get a 34ft trailer and a long bed truck to park thru. There were canoes on the side free to use for guests. Also life jackets for adult and kids. Kids spent the morning fishing behind our trailer by the fire pits. Picnic tables also for every spot. A cute little hang out area near the canoe. Games in the room by the office and also bathroom/showers available. There wasn't much space for kids to ride there bikes. Was a great stay still.

We finally found where we were supposed to be and decided to just pull in and get set up for the night. The camp sites were VERY short, we were barely able to fit our unit in, which was not what the website stated. There were also lots of trees hanging down and overgrown that made it difficult to get in. All of the other units in the camp ground were covered in spider webs and overgrown weeds/grasses. Clearly many people had not moved their units in a long time and several probably had not had people inside them in a long time either. Overall it was not a very comfortable place to be. I would not have felt comfortable staying there as a female alone. The lake is right across the street but it was buggy, hot, humid, and smelled like sewage. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone to stay, nor would I stay there again myself. Luckily we were only passing through for the night and only there maybe a total of 12 hours, but that was even too long.

Not sure why people who are NOT staying at the hotel are putting bad reviews about the hotel…read more First of all, we showed up two hours early and we were immediately accommodated, no questions asked. Jeremy was extremely kind and helpful with all the information regarding the hotel and boat launch/marina. Our room was perfect, bottom floor, right outside of the front desk area. We were able to launch our boat for free with a slip. King size bed was comfortable, and room had all the amenities. The restaurant is DELICIOUS for breakfast, lunch and dinner. In our 4 day stay, we never had a bad meal. Even tried the arcade and Little Caesars, kind staff continued. The pool was a great addition as the lake water was not very inviting. My only complaint has NOTHING to do with the hotel but the marina. Jeremy told us the marina and the hotel are separate. Day 3 of our stay, Saturday, there was to be a concert. Awesome, we love music. We had friends coming into town that afternoon to celebrate my husband's bday and take out their new boat. Well that afternoon, we walked to the boat launch, it has vendors in front of it. We asked the marina staff why they are blocking it, the two ladies didn't apologize or even look up at us, just said "oh yeah, it's been closed all day for the concert." We asked why we were not told, what if we planned on taking our boat out that night after fishing, they replied "well it's closed." Went to the hotel, again Jeremy and his kindness asked security to speak to management and that next time the hotel needs to be notified so they can tell hotel guests. Even a bloody sign at the launch would have been more help than the rude marina staff. Overall, this place is amazing. Very very friendly staff. Always accommodating and kind. We will stay here again.

A bit off grid and worth the drive for this awesome campground! We were referred here by the ranger…read moreat another campground that was full Labor Day Weekend, and were pleasantly surprised to find a peaceful, friendly, welcoming spot with a swimmin' hole, lots of sites to choose from, and an easygoing atmosphere. All the sites have fire pits and are arranged so that they are close to amenities, but private enough to enjoy a few beers around the nighttime campfire. Highlights: Hot showers (coin operated) Super fun logs to roll in the swimming hole Store on-site with firewood Basketball court Short distance from a town store, but still definitely not "urban camping" Hiking or driving distance to nearby lakes Suitable for RV and tent camping This was a great place for families and for young adults!

This Yelp review is from my in-home support worker, Sheila. She does not have a computer so she…read moredid not want to open her own Yelp account. After driving up to Clear Lake from Richmond to go camping with the family at another campground, she encountered a bad experience with the owner. Part of her family was already on the campgrounds because they went up a day earlier and thus, did not want to confront the manager/owner with his bad attitude. (We were reprimanded for kicking up dust on the dirt road leading to the campgrounds although we were going only 15 MPH, and it was the driver's first time driving the grounds.) Therefore we were searching for another campground with the help of a local resident but those campgrounds were full. He then referred us to Kelly's Family Campground. When Sheila and Ray arrived, they were greeted by the owner, a woman named Laura. All of the workers were nice to our whole family. Everyone camping was very congenial and nice and welcoming to us. The campgrounds were clean, the bathrooms and everything was very very clean. The owner even went out of her way and chopped firewood for me because the coal ran down. The children within the group had a wonderful time swimming in the lake with bass swimming around them; played football; and had a wonderful time with the other campers. They had a wonderful time and will definitely be up there next Labor Day. Sheila and Ray highly recommends Kelly's Campground to fulfill all of your camping necessities as well as a safe and clean environment.

The manager is the worst. I stopped with my family and he made us feel like scum. He yells at…read moreeveryone. I am thinking he should find a new job. From what I have seen, he is a nosy and thinks he is better than everyone. Not a great start to a vacation. I saw that he was nice to peoples faces and as soon as those people left he would talk bad about them. IMO they need a new management team.

Don't ask me how I know about this place!! Suffice to…read moresay..IF you find yourself in Upper Lake, CA, it's a fine place to pitch a tent (hee hee...no, I meant that liteally, not in the perverted way) or hook up your Winnebago or Airstream and cool your jets for the evening, this place will do fine. Frankly, back in the 80's, my folks had a cozy mobile home and they would spend their weekends up "thar" (though we lived in SF) and make us go with them...used to have a spiffy pool with the curvy slide, a snack bar with THE BEST onion rings and shakes and burgers and chocolate dipped soft serv cones!...and a jumpin' juke! PLUS they had Donkey Kong, Pac Man and Burgertime!! Sadly, time has not been as good to Blue Lakes RV park ...for if we fast forward to the present day, the pool has been converted into a GIANT PLANTER box for weeds and the snack bar is closed = o ( But the place still is open and again, is very reasonably priced for the overnight camper/RV'r! Good times, but not as good as the 80s! Then again, is anything? So for the review....2 Stars for nostalgia, the clean showers/laundry room....if they would re open the snack bar, convert the planter box back into a pool, and bring back Burgertime (and my lost youth)...perhaps I would restore them to their previous FIVE STAR status!!!
