When we first walked in it's like we stepped back in time. The garden areas were magical and so peaceful. The room was very clean, and they had a number of common areas for everyone to enjoy, but we were sold on the outside. We stayed a couple of days and the breakfast was delicious, and different on both days. The owner will greet you, show you to your room, give you the keys and leave you along, unless of course you need something. Very nice! We were able to talk to her for a while on our last day. We will be back!!

It has a FULL kitchen- with all the amenities! Didn't have to try to hunt down shower supplies! I even had sunscreen in the bathroom. I'm allergic to nearly everything but their products gave me NO issues! Gave me time to enjoy the rocking chair by the water after the BEST shower! Everything is clean and the sounds of nature is beautiful and relaxing. The gentleman at the front desk gave us a tour of the different rooms so I chose the waterfront view. Not a big price difference and absolutely worth the extra money. What could have been a pretty stressful situation became the best thing possible! I'll definitely be marking this as the place to go to next time we are in the area!

Surrounded by 42 acres of open corn fields, sunflowers, tomatoes, watermelons, and other organic vegetables, you'll appreciate simpler, natural times. We stayed in the spacious Rock n Roll cottage. Inspired by our cottage theme, we played our favorite music during the days (without the fear of disturbing anyone) and enjoyed stargazing on our private porch at night. The room was well cleaned every day and supplied with ample towels for our days on the lake. The terrific hosts (R and F) kept the main house open for us to use the kitchen, access to free drinks and fruits, and access to Internet (I strongly urge you to stay off-line as long as possible). I pulled in and it is obvious that the place is old and needs repairs. Lily was nice and while I booked a small room with no kitchen she implored me to upgrade and even showed me the difference in rooms - I didn't need a kitchen and the small room was fine, but I felt like maybe she needed the extra income, so I upgraded. The room itself is very modest, everything is old and in need of an update...I wasn't sure I wanted to walk on the carpet on my bare feet. With that being said, the bed, bathroom and kitchen area were clean. There is not HVAC, so be weary in the heat of summer (small wall AC unit) or the freeze of winter (small floor heater). I ventured to the elevated dock area to look out at the lake - The view is beautiful, there is zero doubt about that, but the dock and the surrounding structures are all in such disrepair its very sad; I didn't feel safe. The walls are quite thin (I was in #5) and I could here traffic from the street, doors closing, TV's, conversation, etc...Also, they advertise that no pets are allowed, but the man staying in the unit next to mine had a large labrador that came lumbering out as I arrived...He later took the dog to the lake, let it swim and then brought it back wet and let it back into his unit...mmmm wet dog smell! Would I stay again? Given that there really isn't any good hotel (Marriott, Hilton, etc) in Lakeport, his place is as good as any and did I mention the bag of Famous Amos cookies on my pillow?! Lots a large TV's, free wifi and newer kitchen appliances. Down side, totally not a good option for the elderly or handicap because there are lots of stairs. My 80 something parents-in-law had to stay in one of the small adjoining Cabins because the quantity of stairs in the main house just wasn't doable for them. The real gem is the fact that you're right on the lake. Yes it's got algae but look past the first 5 feet of shore and you'll see the true wow factor. There is a very large deck off the second story and .... WOW! The views were breathtaking. The outside "yard" is massive. Oh the parties that could be and probably have happened here were probably epic. And a tiki bar? YES! I loved that there is a Chavez Market right across the street so running out of or forgetting anything isn't a problem. It's a pretty nice market (clean, fresh produce and SAFE). We had a wonderful reunion here and even though there were a few restroom issues and the beds are like sleeping on clouds, and the cabins smelled like smokers stayed there, it's still a great place for a large group. Who needs Lake Tahoe when you have an amazing host over at Clear Lake.

The owner is extremely nice and even stopped by the room with restaurant recommendations. The location is quiet but within easy walking distance of local businesses. The Voll does not seem to take reservations or contract with any of the mass market hotel apps. Nonetheless, do yourself a favor next time you are in Ukiah... skip the chains and keep your eyes peeled for the Voll Motel "Vacancy" sign. You won't be sorry for the experience and value at this family-run business!
