We stayed here this past weekend as a short getaway for my birthday. The place has potential, but unfortunately much of the "resort" promised on the website isn't even available. The customer service here is not great. The people are nice enough, but the people working the front desk do not seem to know the answers to even basic questions. Even though the place was completely empty, they charge for an early check in. Our reservation was not correct, and they put us in a regular double room instead of the suite we asked for. Had to return to the lodge and get all new keys and room after unloading and reloading the car. We also paid for a late checkout, and we still got locked out of our room and no one responded to our call. We had to go down to the lobby, which isn't easy here, after being promised someone was on their way. Getting anything takes forever or no one knows the answer. We stayed Saturday to Monday. Unfortunately, the onsite food service and bars close at 3pm on Sundays even though that was our full day there. The tiki bar was hardly open to get drinks by the pool. Essentially the only thing to actually do here is swim in the pool, get a massage, or use the gym. No kayak rentals, no mini-golf course, no pontoon cruises, etc despite all of this being advertised on the website. It was mostly empty and felt very abandoned in most parts of the property. The highlights: the pool is nice and people were very friendly. The bartender was awesome and went above and beyond to do what she could. The actual suite was nice, but not worth the price based on the other amenities being unavailable. The massage therapist was amazing! If the owners put any effort into this place, it could be great. Stayed one night here at the end of June and we were very excited since we hadn't stayed since we were kids before it shut down. Standard King was about 200 for the night which felt a little high for what it was and the customer service is very very flat. We were coming for my baby shower at 2pm and asked if we could check in a little early to freshen up and was told it'd be 25 dollars. Now, if this was a packed resort and housekeeping would need to do extra I get it but they had SO many open rooms letting someone use it a few hours early hurts no one and is just bad hospitality. Never stayed in a hotel that didnt let us check in without a fee if the room was already ready. When we get there around 8:30pm there wasn't a soul in the lobby for at least 10 minutes which is also just bad service. I've been alone at the front desk and called for cover or at least left a small sign of when I'd left and that I'd be back in 5-10 minutes. I'm excited Konocti is back but 200 bucks for a still very simple and old feeling room where there is little customer service or genuine care from staff is a bummer. I've spent a decade in the service industry and worked at boutique hotels and larger ones where our prices were justified by amenities and wonderful customer service and so far really nothing makes this place feel cozy or special yet. Hello, Our family had the best time at the Konocti Harbor Inn this past weekend. The service from the staff was amazing, and the food was the best. Traditional and delicious Everyone had a great time strolling the resort looking at all the memorabilia left by so many artist that played at the amphitheater. We all were so happy to see this Resort being rectified back to its glory. The rooms were well appointed as the views were spectacular. They offered most everything you could think of as a Resort. The swimming pools are clean and well maintained. They have a lap pool for exercise and a huge pool for family fun. Plenty of shade snd chaise's to choose from. A bar within a few feet and big blow up jumping houses for the kids. I can't say enough about this hidden Clearlake gem. enjoy and relax is the best thing about this place. WHAT ON EARTH IS GOING ON HERE?!?!?!? Upon driving around the property reminiscing, it was one disappointing turn after another. The grounds looks like something from a apocalypse movie or dooms day. As if there was a disease outbreak, with no survivors. YES, it's that bad! Furniture piled high in the countless hotel room windows, or just out in plain sight. The grounds are overgrown with weeds. It was an eerie feeling driving around trying to reminisce about the GOOD OLD DAYS. The delapitation was heart wrenching. I mean, atleast clean up what's visual. This has got to be one of the biggest eye sores in Lake County, and extremely disappointing that it's been reopened without atleast cleaning the place up a whole lot more. read more

Not there yet but we're still hopeful! We went there for their soft opening and we're so disappointed. Usually soft openings are a time for the restaurant to put their best foot forward, work out any issues, offer a limit menu, a complimentary dessert or drink and invite the guests to offer suggestions. Sadly, the steak we ordered was poorly done and my sliders were so covered in sauce that I could hardly taste the meat. The service timing was poor and awkward. The window sills were COVERED in dead bugs inches from our food (the bugs were outside but still unsightly and unappetizing). Hopefully these are early growing pains and they can fix these problems before crowds start coming. They really need to listen openly and honestly to comments from customers. Title My Review,"SORRY THE KNOB IS STIFF I'm changing the tone of my review because I just took a shower and saw this message in the shower stall. It's endearing and I believe the person who wrote this should be in charge of PR for the entire resort. Not a bad TV package. But Wifi is nonexistent and try as I might to get the front desk gal to admit it, she was adamant that the issue had to do with capacity. Despite the fact that our parking lot was fricking empty. However. It makes zero sense to beat up on this place. We are all pulling for them and pray they can start pulling in big-time acts like they used to in the 90's. Staying here is OK as long as you expect it to be a couple clicks below Motel 6 or super eight. The people are nice, but if it's something that can be controlled it's gonna be substandard or worse. Our bartender at the private party last night did well. Nice work keeping up with everybody and maintaining a friendly demeanor. But it was all downhill from there. And for whatever reason you can choose to pick they don't take cash anywhere. Except for tips, of course. We there for Mothers day brunch. For 3 people we were charged 267 for brunch and bottomless mimosas. The mimosa was warm, went through the buffet and they were out of food. I said something to one of the workers, waited 30 mins, still no food, then asked for a refund so we could leave, they were only going to give 20% refund. I said that was UNACCEPTABLE, that's when the manager/ cook came around the corner, and said they are bringing out food, and told him we are leaving, he would only give 50% refund. We left, my son went back today, and was treated like white trash! They said we ate and then complained and wanted a refund. Which was NOT true. Told my son he was "Clearlake trash", and we are from Napa!! The WORST PLACE EVER. DO NOT GO THERE!!! read more

If you go there, make sure that they are open... That the restaurant is open... It was like going to a ghost town. There were only two people staying on our wing. No waterfalls no excitement it wasl Sunday Monday stay so we didn't expect a lot of people but it seemed like no one was there. I don't even know how they're going to stay open. We paid $211 for our room on a Sunday night which was just so so. Resturant was not even open. We had to drive 20 minutes into town to get a bite to eat. Why are the waterfalls not working probably because you don't have enough people staying there to pay the water bill and the electric bill. When we left on Monday you would think people would be working like construction people to try to get that place up and running, but it was very quiet. I came to Konocti Harbor to see the spa and possibly join as a member. After being told I could sit in the restaurant (very poor food) to do some work, I was moved to the lobby quickly because it closed--only staff were present in the lobby. Two men and a manager (Jeff Warrenburg) soon approached, acting hostile and saying, "You're not welcome here--this isn't for you" simply because I wasn't a hotel guest (I don't recommend the bug infested rooms). I was escorted out and questioned about the details of my car so they could "watch for me in the future". Insanely inappropriate and disgustingly rude staff. **Memorial Weekend Misadventure - Bring a Camera, Not a Swimsuit** Stopped by this "resort" over Memorial Day Weekend, and let's just say... if you're into post-apocalyptic tourism, you're in for a treat. We counted maybe 6-8 rooms that looked occupied--on a holiday weekend. Not exactly the kind of buzz you'd expect. The pool had about 20 people, mostly kids doing their best to enjoy what appears to be the only functioning part of the property. From there, things really spiral. Half-dead palm trees line the walkways like sad props from a low-budget desert thriller. Cobwebs decorate the buildings, papered windows scream "still under construction" (for going on five years now), and weeds are thriving--clearly the only thing that's been well-watered. Cars from apparent live-ins are parked along the road, giving it that nice "abandoned strip mall meets commune" vibe. As for amenities, the tennis courts are out of commission--one even features a fallen tree that looks like it's been comfortably nesting there for years. The mini-golf course? Picture *Friday the 13th* but less cheerful. Water features? Dry as your sense of humor after five minutes here. Entering the property, you're greeted by an unmanned security booth with windows so tinted you could do your makeup in them. Spoiler: you're not supposed to stop, but go ahead and try to figure that out while awkwardly peering in. Then you're treated to a collapsed security gate marked "Road Closed" (helpful!) and a rusting amphitheater that really drives home the "nature's reclaiming this place" aesthetic. Keep driving and you'll navigate a slalom of mismatched speed bumps and rubber mats--because if one kind of speed control is good, three must be better. You'll pass a building with a rooftop HVAC unit that looks like a science experiment in mold growth, along with business signs that were probably last relevant when flip phones were cutting-edge. And yes, of course, massive rusting storage containers--because ambiance. Take a left and enjoy views of about five unusable tennis courts. One is hugged by a full-sized tree resting on the fence. Clearly nobody's in a rush. Past that is another building "under construction," featuring missing doors, random tools, and scattered plywood--because who doesn't love a live-in construction site? As a final treat, drive slowly around the indoor pool area (your suspension will thank you), and you'll find the crown jewel: the Boneyard. It's an oddly impressive collection of roughly 40 vans, boats, and trucks, all dating back to the Reagan administration, sitting in eternal rest like some kind of classic car cemetery. All in all, this place could be great--if you're scouting a set for a horror movie or an abandoned theme park documentary. Curb appeal? Nonexistent. Family fun? Only if your kids enjoy swimming and eating, because that's literally all there is. And the real kicker? I genuinely had high hopes for this place. You don't need a degree in finance to see that trying to operate a sprawling resort on a poolside snack bar budget just isn't sustainable. What was once a thriving tourist destination now feels like it's being run by people who skipped the "priorities" chapter in the management handbook. **NO CASH** Everything here is paid by VISA/DISCOVER/MASTERCARD. Checking in was easy. The front desk didn't tell us about the free breakfast (lucky we found out from other guest). You will need a wrist band if you're planning on swimming or hanging out at the pool area. My family and I would come visit Konocti Harbor Resort regularly for over 10 years. We had also celebrated our Christmas and Thanksgiving at the resort before they closed the doors. I was very excited to hear that an anonymous buyer from the bay area had purchased the resort and plan to fix it up and updated the place. I visited the resort in the late September of this year, the pools were open but you needed a wrist band to use the pool. The pool area was very nice with lots of seating to just hang out and lounge around. There were tons of beach towels on the rack for you to use as well. The bar and grill's food was decent, nothing to complain about with large portions. The views of the lake in the restaurant were beautiful. My friend and I also decided to walk (hike) around the whole resort just to see how much work they done. Konocti has 4 tennis courts, which I feel like two of them should be turned into a basketball court. While walking around we stopped by the spa but it was closed, I can't wait for the spa to open. It was one of the main reason why I loved Konocti so much. I had one of the best massages of my life there. The mini golf area had some deer hanging around when we walked passed it. I hope they decided to fix the mini golf area as well, that would fun for the kids in the future. The arcade room was closed. Again I think they should reopen that in the future as well. There's also a market by the docks that sells a snacks, panty items and household products. You can also rent a kayak inside the market as well. The rooms were nice, but they do have bugs since it is in the middle of lake. For the prices of the room, there's nothing to complain about. Our beds were comfortable and clean, new tv screens, new AC units, an old microwave and refrigerator. The bathroom had a new paint job, with a new toilet. Overall the rooms were decent. One thing I was sad about was the lack of area to fish. They used to have a large boat deck that guest can fish on but now they have a small boat dock area with signs that says no fishing. So that's disappointing. Overall, I'm glad I came to check the place out before they get busy and pack. But once the spa reopens, I'll definitely come back. I hope the next time I visit Konocti they'll have the mini golf and arcade up and running, the spa reopened and they can figure out where people can go to do a little fishing. I have high hopes for Konocti Harbor. I can't wait until they finally have everything up and running. read more

Attended a concert and stayed the night at Konocti Harbor Resort. When it closed over 14 years ago it created a domino effect for small resorts and restaurants around the lake. Reopening this large resort will hopefully revitalize tourism at beautiful Clear Lake. The large pool with ample lounge areas and view of the lake is top notch. A continental breakfast is available from 6-9am. The restaurant, Andy's Tavern is open with great views of the lake. Sunday buffet brunch. Indoor fitness center and indoor lap pool. We returned Thanksgiving weekend. The outdoor section was closed for the season. Were pretty disappointed since we drove from Clearlake around 35 minutes away. We were about to leave to find another restaurant but went into the mini-mart to use the bathroom. Found out the indoor restaurant was open from having small talk with shop employee. Hmm, nothing looked open when we drove by. But, we walked over and to our delighted surprise it was open. The entrance is for the hotel. Walked past a gallery of A-list artists who played there in the 90s and 00s. Pretty impressive list! After 15 minutes of gawking at the photos we entered the restaurant. Hugh place with lots of wood. Very retro looking which matched the photos. Huge floor to ceiling windows with views of the lake. There were several large screens showing football games. Unfortunately only tables for 2 by the windows. For us food was secondary. Views were the reason we came. I can't really comment on the food. Just had a burger. Can't go wrong with a burger. Anyway, come for the views and the retro experience. Come to stand in the same space Aerosmith, Bob Dylan, Boston and many more stood. Tip for owners: scream that the restaurant is open. Why bother even buying one of no one checks your ticket. Or bother sending 3 emails about signing a waiver that doesn't exist. I came with my toddler and there was a "live DJ" playing - this wasn't advertised. The music was blaring and so overly stimulating, not to mention I wasn't about to hang out to explain to my kid what "baby got back" means. Everyone in the cloudy water pool had drinks in hand. There was no shade to be had, except a small sliver being occupied by every person there. Dirty towels everywhere. Walked in, looked around, walked out. Huge waste of $$. Contacting the front desk was pointless, as was the "tell us about your experience" surveys. Nope, maybe in its heyday even though they are working to upgrade, lipstick on a pig, is the best description. Beautiful view and the staff was extremely nice. First, the thermostat did not make sense and after an hour of attempts we called staff who were INCREDIBLY nice, explaining the the device we were attempting to use no longer was in service (but open to every room?) and the legit heater wasn't working so they replaced it that evening in two hours while we waited. Door was left open so flies got in but the sliding door weighs seriously 30 lbs and took two of us to open or close, bad design/planning! Oh, and the fireplace is no longer working. The new living room area was not comfortable at all and no window coverings on the kitchen or dining room - what?? Kitchen - we understood the stove wasn't operatable but the sign said NO APPLIANCES TO BE USED, so that was a waste, we paid extra but couldn't use it - plus it wasn't properly supplied with items needed. The bathroom was 1/2 remodeled and didn't make sense, safety bars in the shower were placed next to the faucet(?), and water sprayed out of the toilet a foot high when flushed.... get the idea? Mattress appeared new but had no mattress pad so you could feel the indentions from the mattress, just not a class act at all. 1st night we were locked outside the gate at 11:30 & no one answered the phone - finally a man leaving let us in. 2nd night we were locked out of our room bc the key pass issued was only good for 1 night - we booked and paid for two AT FULL PRICE!! NO AMENITIES WERE OPEN - but in Nov that is understandable - BUT FULL PRICE ($300/nt) for this place is an insult to Lake County. We stay at hotels a few times a month all over and this was by far the worst experience we've ever had. Staff was nice and the view was great - but the resort lacked on every level beyond that. read more

I'm not sure where to begin... perhaps with the washed-up, over-wrung line of "I never write Yelp reviews, BUT..." But this place IS a disaster-piece; the perfect example of a location with great potential left to gather dust, weeds, rust, and all manner of ugly, night-crawling creatures (and I don't just mean bugs). Kitchen suites are stocked with cups, glasses, bowls, and even steak knives, but you won't be needing them. A sign propped on an 80's electric stovetop clearly states no cooking or appliance usage is allowed, excepting the storage of food in the refrigerator. Although we have a microwave and toaster, I'm afraid to use them, lest I am billed for the smell of crisped bagels or a pin prick of reheated tomato soup... In flagrant honesty, the galley feels like a retro-themed museum; look, don't touch, and certainly don't point out how all these appliances you shouldn't utilize are plugged in, ready to go, and advertised on the website. That said, I cleaned one of the very dirty glasses with Konocti's prop dish soap and sponge so I could keep water on my nightstand; sue me. More bizarrely, there are no curtains in what I call "no-brainer" areas. One can stand outside and look straight in from the kitchen to the living room where my fiancé and I *might* watch a risqué movie (there's no tv in the bedroom). As I write, he is MacGyver-ing a doorway between us and the outer walkway, using coat hangers and bedspreads. In addition to privacy concerns, the giant sliding glass door on the second floor doesn't lock, with a security guard indicating this was intentional on management's part (oh, and no curtains there either - we essentially have a whole wall of windows exposing us to the world, and we don't have enough coat hangers and towels to cover everything). On top of this, our front door is missing its deadbolt, there's no lock for the bedroom, and I feel strangely compelled to search for hidden cameras. (Not that anyone would see any action - we can't set the mood because the fireplace won't start.) If all that sounds too hot and spicy for you, the building is equipped with a lovely imported A/C system. Why do I know (let alone mention) this? Because I Googled the brand name "Kanion" while converting Celsius degrees to Fahrenheit, since our thermostat uses the former. In addition to this oddity, there are two bulky exhaust units affixed to the balcony floor, RIGHT next to those cute wicker chairs you'll see on their webpage. Oh wait... what wicker chairs? We have square metal squatters with "white" cushions that an inebriated guest may have peed on, going off the stains. All this aside, my main concern is that resort ownership expects people to shell out $260/night for something worth, well, much less. The place reeks of shady management, hellbent on extracting every dollar possible while forgoing routine property maintenance, utilizing the "best" (cheapest) construction materials in projects they can't avoid, and cutting corners on basics such as window coverings. Perhaps the world has turned and now blinds are considered amenities? read more

Absolutely beautiful setting nestled between Mt. Konocti and Clearlake. Sprawling resort property where most rooms (if not all) have a lake view. Beautiful huge restaurant and bar with lakefront dining. Huge, clean pool next to the bar and restaurant. This place used to be HOPPING back in the 80's, 90's and early 2000's. It's a quiet, gorgeous little NorCal getaway now. Hopefully it can come back to life as it once was. Worth a visit. read more

False advertising in regards to pool being open. We had a suite with a kitchen. Sign posted in kitchen to not use appliances only refrigerator. Bathroom and kitchen had not been remodeled. Well, before writing this review, I did give the manager the opportunity to respond and contact us back so we can explain further for better improvements and complement also an employee, but he never returned our email after saying he would call us. The resort is open, correct however it is definitely not up to speed. The grounds are weedy. The rooms are somewhat updated except the bathroom has bugs in the windowsill all around. There were no towels to be able to get for the pool use, even though there was nobody using the pool that day. There's only one restaurant open with specific hours. They do not take cash only credit card so if you plan to pay with cash. For anything including the little convenience store they have forget it. It's very rundown and I agree with the amount of money you're paying for the rooms you're not getting a resort. also, our room was cleaned before we checked out after we came back from breakfast which we did not appreciate. hopefully the hotel improves their prices to accommodate with their offering. We just stayed at Konocti over Labor Day weekend and I'd say that the overall 3.3 rating is spot on. It is nothing like in its hayday but it is clean, the staff is friendly and the food was decent (with the exception of the brisket - awful). Enjoyed my stay this weekend. Very, very clean room, which I was nervous about because of Covid and people just don't care about cleanliness. But I worried for nothing. The casino was big enough and I played a little bit, gambling is not my bag. Plus, they didn't have my game anyway; I like jackpot party. I was shocked that they had very up-to-date slots. I was offered a fun book when I checked in that offered $10.00 match play on slots and one to play the table games. I used the one for slots and I also used the coupon for a $1.00 off on any beer or well drink. I had a rum & coke which is my favorite, it was very good. The bar area was a large sized room with a well stocked liquor section, it looked like you can get the drink of your desire!!Booth seating and seating at the bar, they also had pool tables. Security was everywhere like it should be, so that was another plus. They did have to move us because we had a one technicality but all was good!!! We had an enjoying rest & felt good when we woke up!!! We had clean towels for our shower. I felt safe in my room. A little jealous of my friends because they had a room facing the picnic area, swimming pool and the lake. On a day like today, I know that was a spectacular sight!!! Pontoon Boat Ride was great. A perfect evening ride around the lake, Rodney was our guide and he was awesome. This was my second time taking this ride with him, and both times we really enjoyed ourselves. read more
