This theater has ample parking and reasonably priced food. Movie price was reasonable as well. Movie for three was under $20. Reserved seating on all seats is enforced where you can select your seats for socially distancing, if you desire. Luscious seats that recline with a button. For an island theater this place is solid. We came to see Mission Impossible several weeks after it hit theaters. The reclining seats were comfortable and they didn't squeak. The staff was young but very friendly and even professional. I had an overall great experience and the tickets were only $6. My only complaint is that I could clearly hear the movie in the room next door during quiet scenes. Would I go back? For sure. read more

Worst theater I've been to...ever. The theater is very dirty. I don't think they've cleaned the theater in months (maybe years). The seats have sticky stains all over them. The drink holders are full of disgusting goo and muck. A light in the theater flickered the entire time. The staff was beyond rude. One guy, who looked, and acted, under-age, demanded to see my ticket in order to buy popcorn. When I showed him on my phone he grabbed the phone out of my hand, yelled at me and said it wasn't a valid ticket, and tossed my phone on the counter. I showed him the receipt, he once again grabbed my phone, printed off paper copies that I didn't want (or need), and tossed them on the counter and proceeded to yell "you need something else?" At me. We tried to order snacks, but that was a horrific experience. This theater is disgusting, I believe is employing child labor, and the staff rude beyond words. I hope the labor department or even the food association shuts this place down. read more

I have seen films at this location for years now and everytime I see a film it brings me joy because it a normal theater and spacious and comfortable with it's reclining chairs that are so comfortable. The prices are fair and the pictures are first runs. read more

We had a particularly bad experience at Northridge due to their switching to a new computer system for ticketing. Visiting from out of state, I've been coming to Northridge for years (since childhood), and I have to say my most recent visit was unusually terrible. We went to see the opening night showing of Super Mario Bros in 3D and seemingly secured four tickets for myself, my wife, and our two kids. We arrived prior to the 7 PM show, hoping to pick up our tickets and get some concessions, but we were greeted with a long line. At first only one employee was staffing the concessions stand before a second arrived, but that's when problems started to magnify. As we patiently waited, other customers who seemed to have gotten their tickets were now returning to the concessions stand to complain that others were occupying their seats. After the junior employees repeatedly went back to discuss a these issues with the manager, he came out and had to explain that their new computer system was allowing for folks to secure tickets online, but the system did not acknowledge the bookings, which accidentally allowed for double booking by folks showing up to get their tickets without preordering. Chaos ensued. We made the decision to give up on getting concessions. We similarly found other folks sitting in our assigned seats. One of the junior employees inexplicably printed out only 3 of our 4 tickets and essentially instructed us to show competing customers our stubs to convince them to move. We hadn't planned on participating in The Hunger Games!! Finally, before our show started, the manager came in to announce that another "completely empty" theater was available for folks to watch Super Mario (NOT in 3D, however). Fortunately, a lot of attendees didn't mind and took the option. We were only then able to watch our originally booked show, which started and finished later than scheduled. The leather recliner couches were the only good features for our experience that night. We left tired and hungry and opted for the nearby McDonald's for a late dinner (as with many businesses, hard to find on Hilton Head Island after dark). Perhaps this place will soon work out the kinks with this new computer booking system, but until the staff does, I would never go here again! We also have gone to Park Plaza Cinema down the way near Coligny Circle, and the experience there has always been superior. Either do that, or just stay home or at your hotel/condo and stream off your laptop or get a RedBox rental instead! [I was tempted to give one star, but due to previously good experiences with minimal to no lines--ironically prior to the advent of online booking--I've given Northridge the benefit of the doubt with two stars instead.] read more

Great, little theater on Hilton Head Island. I think it would be accurate to describe this theater as "indie." It has a few quirks and benefits -- which is kind of the hallmark of a good, locally run cinema. Here are some noteworthy things: First, it's in a shopping plaza and not exactly well marked. If you didn't know where to look for it (thank you modern technology) you might not even know it was in the shopping center you were driving aimlessly around. Second, sometimes there is no one manning the ticket booth. You have to walk in and then turn immediately around and go inside the ticket booth itself and operate the payment kiosk as self-service. Weird but whatever. You can get the tickets at the concession stand instead if you're going to be getting anything. Third, speaking of concessions, you get unlimited drink and popcorn refills if you get the *large* size of them. Fourth, I don't know about all of the screens, but #5 definitely had the recliner seats that are push-button controlled. Nice. Don't worry about the fabric tape holding the seat together. I'm from out of town and staying in Beaufort and there is no place to watch a move here so I got on Yelp and found this place maybe a 30 or 40 minute drive to an old looking one story shopping mall. In the back corner was the movie theater. This place is awesome, felt like a mom and pop place with very nice staff that even brought food we ordered to our seat in the Theater. The seats are electric leather recliners all I needed was a blanket and someone to bring me eggs and coffee in the morning. Loved this place. read more

Northridge Cinema 10 is a quaint 10-screen movie theater on the northern end of Hilton Head Island near the airport. I've been going to this movie theater since I was a kid. My earliest recollection visiting this theater was in 1994 for Star Trek: Generations (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111280/). I also randomly recall seeing Paycheck (2003, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0338337/) and Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0311113/) here. Most recently, I came here to see Interstellar (2014, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0816692/). Northridge Cinema is located in a low profile shopping center off of Business 278 (William Hilton Parkway). You can't see the movie theater from the highway. You'll have to drive into the heavily wooded shopping center to find it. (What shopping center on the island isn't low profile and wooded?) Northridge still has the charm and appeal of a locally owned (technically, I don't believe it's locally owned), mom-and-pop-type business. It feels a lot like an independent movie theater. It's not like an AMC or Regal theater with dozens of screens, stadium seating, oversized IMAX screens, and Dolby Atmos surround sound. Everything about this place feels old school from the concessions to the arcade room with air hockey to the vending machines selling candy. Even the architecture takes you back to the 1980s. What's great about this theater are the prices. When I last saw a movie here, the prices (taxes not included) were as follows: Adults - $9.00 Children (under 11) & Seniors (over 62) - $6.50 Matinee - $6.00 3-D movies - $2.50 extra We saw Interstellar in theater 1. As we took our seats, I was shocked to see the seats. Northridge has installed power reclining luxury seats with footrests and futuristic-looking light-up cup holders. Wow! Impressive. Judging from the exterior and the interior (lobby), you would never think this theater would have this type of seating. I guess they *are* keeping up with the times in some fashion. I actually counted the number of seats in theater 1. There are six rows with 11 seats each for a maximum capacity of 66. The seats were in terrific condition, which leads me to believe they were installed fairly recently (within the past year or so). The staff seems competent and friendly. If you want, you can buy a ticket from the automated kiosk outside. Enjoy! read more

I'm actually sitting in the theater as I type. If not for me wanting to see this movie, I would have already left. The self service popcorn and drinks would be a nice touch if the service area was cleaned. The popcorn must be days old, Now for the theater. It smells so bad. The seats are dirty, some with dried liquid running down the arms. The floor hasn't been swept in some time and the screen is not flat, it has folds in the corner. Not what we were expecting while on vacation in Hilton Head Island. Most bathroom stalls either barely had any toilet paper or were completely out. The movie theater had not been cleaned from the previous screening. They do have recliners, but they are noisy and some are very tattered. Also, the walls are not sound proof. You could hear the action movie playing in the theater to our left and the preview in the movie theater to our right, all while trying to focus on the movie were were watching. UPDATE: What a difference!! Since our last attempt, this theater has made some major changes. All theaters now have comfortable recliner seating and digital projectors. To purchase tickets there is a self-serve box office or you can buy tickets at the concession stand. They have also added a bar area. I hope that these changes will bring more business. We sat in a large theater to see a popular movie and were the only ones there. Keep up the positive direction! Previous review: Worst theater experience - and we didn't even get to see a movie! We wanted to see a movie mid-afternoon to avoid the 100 temps. When we arrived several bad things immediately. 1. Movie we wanted was sold out, so we thought we would try a different movie. 2. The outside credit card kiosk was broken. 3. The box office was closed and you had to go into the concession stand to purchase tickets. 4. Only two lines at concessions open to sell both food and tickets, so lines were really long and slow. 5. The shopping center where the theaters are located is in disrepair. (Ok, this last one isn't the theater's fault). 6. There is no cell phone signal and their wi-fi doesn't work. Very disappointed and we won't be back! Don't walk, run from this theater! read more

I wish I was kidding writing this review, but unfortunately I'm not. We were in a movie for approximately one hour when suddenly two RATS came running all through the theater. Everyone had to leave. Manager acted like everything was totally normal and couldn't have cared or reacted less. Don't go here. Don't eat here. Will be contacting the health department too. read more

Loved the employee uniforms. It had an Italian feeling and was definitely unique. The reclining seats were very comfortable. We did hear a little too much from the neighboring cinema but really a good picture and sound system. A perfect retreat when the weather is not great for us. read more

I am 34 years old and have NEVER had an allergic or chemical sensitivity reaction to anything in my entire life. It is now a week and a half later and the marks still haven't gone away entirely. Decided to go see the new Deadpool movie so purchased 2 tickets online through Fandango. Had no issue selecting our seats or time for movie. When we arrived at the theater the first thing I noticed was the floors... Extremely dirty like someone took a large bag of popcorn and threw it in the air.. the staff at the theater were very nice and we had no issues using our online tickets there. The reserved seating was nice and the room itself seemed to be clean. Overall the experience was okay, but I was not expecting a messy entrance, and being my first time here using online tickets, the process wasnt extremely clear but getting there early helped. I have no issue going back to this theater again, but maybe during the day and not for a night showing. read more

Visiting the area on a rainy Sunday, when I mentioned the possibility of seeing a movie to our Airbnb host, she immediately recommended this theater and told me to buy tickets online. I dutifully spent $15.40 on two matinee tickets and selected our seats. Of course, like all of Hilton Head, the signage is SO tasteful (re: low to the ground) that even with GPS, we had to drive around the parking lot figuring out if we were in the right place. Parked, we went inside past the closed outdoor ticket windows. Inside were the concession stands, but no one asking for tickets. In fact, we walked right into our theater and sat down with zero employee interaction (since we didn't want concessions). The seats are the nice reclining kind...but like the rest of the theater, they were a bit run-down, with tears in places. And with the way the footrest moves out, it's hard to set a purse on floor without it getting in the way. Sound, etc. was fine, as one might expect. Although more people came into the theater, it wasn't packed, and as always, I was a little sorry I had paid the couple extra bucks to buy online. So did it do the job? Yes, we saw the movie. RAT INFESTED - My friend and I went to see a movie on 10/19/22 and 20 mins into the movie I felt something fall out of my chair and when looking around I saw not just one rat, but SEVERAL RATS crawling all over the seating and the floor! You can even see where the seats are torn up. We left screaming our heads off and the manager acted like this is a normal thing and just gave us our money back. I called the DHEC and they said they got another call from a few days prior from someone else notifying them they saw rats as well!! I am completely distressed and will never be able to go to a theater again. Absolutely disgusting and terrifying. read more

Wow! This is such a lovely cinema! Tucked at the end of a strip mall in Hilton Head, it is clean and nice, with reserved seating. We came in at 1230, and were given matinee prices of $6.51...amazing, and then went into Theater 2 and realized we were given reclining armchair seats! Very comfortable, good sound and picture, and the bathrooms were incredibly nice and well stocked, very upscale. I did not get popcorn, but a guy before me did and said it was very good, and I saw a popcorn fixing stand with about 6 different flavors to sprinkle on. This does not seem to be a chain as far as I knew (not AMC, Regal or Cinemark), but was just so very nice!! read more

I will not be going back to this theatre. Went to see maverick tonight and there was a giant rat running around inside the theater while the movie was playing. I was not the only person to see it either. The concession area was filthy with popcorn and trash all over the floor. The health department needs to check this place out. We specifically didn't order popcorn or anything because of how nasty it was. The seats were nasty as well. Looked like they hadn't been cleaned since they had been there. Never again! read more

Wow. Tickets are only $6 for matinees and $8 for evening movies. This theater is strangest one I've ever been to. First of all, it's located in a strip mall. You wouldn't think that a theater would be in a strip mall, but it is. I did notice that they've undergone a renovation on the inside since my last visit to Hilton Head. The theaters are on the smallish side due to the tight quarters. Everything looked brand spanking new inside the theaters. The rows were very spacious so you can comfortably remain seated in your seat when people try to get by. Arms of the seats stay down so no snuggling, people. Another nice thing about the theater is that it's never really busy. No fighting required for the good center seats. Beware that they check bags when you enter to make sure you aren't smuggling any contraband (outside food and drinks) into the theater. I did have a lovely conversation with the guy checking bags about purses. I didn't order any concessions during my visits there so I can't tell you about those prices. This is a good place to come on rainy days during your vacation. I do miss having stadium seats, but the convenience factor and cheap prices make this my go-to theater when I'm on the island. read more

Oh wow! This place is absolutely filthy! I'm absolutely done patronizing this place - I had to take a shower when I got home. It seriously does not look like it has been cleaned in months. Park Place Plaza on the south end is SO much cleaner and they will be getting the reclining seats soon. They take pride in cleanliness and it shows. TL:DR -good effort for a small town theater -didn't buy any food, but saw it was reasonably priced -cup lighters could/should be disabled. -Screen is small = front row isn't too bad to sit in Review: Came here to see American Sniper the other day, and since we've been spoiled in ATL with luxury seating we would not visit any theater without reclining seats. We arrived right in the middle of the previews, at a 1pm showing (matinee) on a wednesday thinking it wouldn't be packed at all... but, we were wrong. The only available seating was in the front 2 rows. Thankfully, the screen wasn't too big so sitting up front was actually enjoyable with the recliner all the way back. The only problem, was the cupholder lights. Even when dimmed they were just distracting and I would prefer no lighting at all, however being since I could tell this is an "active community" maybe the extra lighting is needed. Whenever we visit Hilton Head we always take in a movie or two at Northridge Cinema 10. Love those big, reclining seats! And the popcorn can be refilled! However, this month when we were in HHI, we thought that going to the movies wouldn't be wise because of COVID-19. But when we learned the precautions that they were taking, we decided to go see a movie. We felt very safe and comfortable and enjoyed our time there, as always.
