We called a few times prior to booking wth questions, everyone was helpful and friendly. The place was easy to find and we were checked in, paid up and on the water quickly. Instructions for driving the boat and navigating the waterways were thorough. The boat was brand new, nice and clean! Better than some rentals for sure. The best part was that there was some rain in the forecast so they kept our phone number handy and contacted us when the radar started to show inclement weather. The company told us not to call the Coast Guard (others did anyway) and promised help--but instead sent two men in a truck who could only take three people, stranding the rest of us with small children and no keys or phones. When we finally got back, the owner was rude, blamed us, insisted his boats never fail, and tried to charge us the full rental plus $2,000 for damages--on the boat that had broken down. Check the Google reviews before booking--this isn't the first time this has happened. Spend your money elsewhere.

I purchased a used boat from Dewitt Marine that I was assured was in good running condition by the…read moresales rep. When I picked the boat up, I only made it eight miles when a wheel bearing on the trailer failed. While this was not a direct reflection on the boat's condition, it was preview of coming attractions. Dewitt replaced the failed bearing at their expense but I had to pay for the other three, which their service tech said were not likely reliable. After the wheel bearings were replaced, I picked the boat up again and tried to launch it. The engine turned over but it would not start. So another two hour round trip to take the boat back to Dewitt. They had the boat for a few days and said they found moisture in the engine compartment and bilge. They said they started successfully several times without issue. After another two hour round trip to get the boat, I tried to launch it again and it would not even turn over. Dewitt's response was it sounded like a bad battery and I would be responsible for getting it diagnosed and/or replaced. I now have a boat that I have never heard/seen run and Dewitt will not stand behind their initial assurance it was in good running condition. BUYER BEWARE!

You can tell they truly love what they do, and give you that "mom and pop" service that is so rare to find nowadays. We thought we left our car keys on the boat so Hank came back to pick up my husband to take him back on the boat. It wasn't there, but thankfully we found them in one of the hidden pockets of our daughter's backpack. The next day Teresa called to make sure we found them. Who does that? We stayed at Chain O' Lakes campground so Alden Marine & Sport was only around 10 minutes away. We went in, said we only had a couple of hours to kayak, we paid, they packed them in the truck & we followed the truck to the drop off point, which was only 1 mile down the road. Fast, friendly service, exactly what we needed that morning! So easy & no hassle. Definitely recommend!

Rented a Pontoon from MK Marine for a day on Torch Lake. Had a positive experience with MK Marine…read moreoverall. Would rent from them again. The great: the Pontoon we rented was new and pristine, the staff was very helpful and courteous, the setup they have is nice (they put the boat in the river for you, they bring the boat to your car after to unload, they have a nice changing room, bathroom was good, etc.). The not so good (as it relates to your experience as a boater): going through the Torch River to get to the lake itself. For experienced folks this probably is not a big deal but for beginners (like myself) it was white knuckle in and out with some narrow spots and traffic. If you knick the prop you have to buy them a new one. I was so nervous and didn't want to knick it I had it up higher than most. This makes the boat harder to steer and makes the river that much harder to navigate. They should consider offering prop insurance prior and that way you boat stress free! Once you get on Torch this is a non issue because the lake is huge and you can see the shallow spots with ease. Side Note: when coming back you'll have to u turn to dock and get gas from MK on the river (if you need some). Watch out for a sunken dock/bridge/rock hazard next to the dock on left prior to your u turn! Only a white floating log marks this treachery and you won't know it is to be avoided until almost the last minute.

If you are looking to rent a boat for exploring the lake, M&K is the place to go! I'd like to come back to Torch, and when I do, I will definitely be renting from here again!
