The doctors, nurses, front staff...every one..are wonderful. Timely, patient, efficient, caring and kind.

i walked in nervous based on some of these reviews, and left blown away by their care and service. everyone from the woman who scheduled me on the phone, to the woman who checked me in, to every nurse and doctor i interacted with, really was kind and you could tell they meant it. i believe my main nurses name was susan and so was just so sweet and helped keep my nerves away. i hope you don't have to come here before you're 50 like i did lol, but if you do i highly recommend! they also partner with smart shopper through my insurance if you have that as well read more

This could be the unfriendliest practice in Indiana. Leann hung up on me in scheduling. Professionalism starts at the top; even if the doctors are good, they let their staff run amok. The incompetence and rudeness of staff are off the charts. I will find another Gastro place to do my colonoscopy; there are plenty to choose from. Poor communication between office staff and dr. Dr Shatara has no bedside manner, a gruff personality, and no empathy.

This was a great experience from start to finish. I have the choice to drink the liquid or to swallow pills. I chose the pills. I thought it would be a lot easier and it was 12 pills at night with lots of water 12 pills in the morning lots of water no problem. When I arrive that morning, the staff was very nice and helpful when it was my turn to go back,they asked for my husband's cell phone number and they would call him in about 2 1/2 hours to come back and get me. My two nurses that prepped me were amazing.Missi Lynne and Bridget. The anesthetist Melissa thank you. Dr Scheidler great job. My friend Kim who talked me into doing this and telling me everything would be OK. Just want everyone to know how easy this was. solid care providers but the front office brings incompetence and rudeness to a new level. When you call, they are clearly annoyed that you are taking their time. Although I've gone here for over a decade, they can't seem to find all of my records. When trying to work thru this, I got long sighs from the other end of the phone. I asked " am I frustrating you?" she said "yes" used a profanity, then hung up on me". unprofessionalism at a new level achieved! Well done Northside Gastro. You front office staff are clearly more important than your patients. It is beyond sad to see this travesty. My wife and I both scheduled colonoscopies at Northside Gastro. We had a great experience, even considering the somewhat unpleasant nature of the colonoscopy procedure. The entire staff were excellent, friendly, and informative. Dr. Born took time both before and after the procedure to speak with us. I can't give a higher rating for a medical office. The doctor is nice by all means and the PA. Several times I called to schedule appointments, couple schedulers was irritated like they don't want to schedule you. I get why if it's non emergency or it is. But when you answer, please be kind with your tone of voice. I went to see a PA the second time I paid that office visit once, and mistakenly paid them twice. Still I got a collection letter that I still owed them at a discount deal. There biller can't comprehend adding and subtracting. Your office staff was ok, just had that cold vibe; their just there to check you in. Your medical billers needs to go back to school how to do calculations and post payments. This made me went to another doctor because of the office staff and other issues. I am rating this a one solely on the office schedulers. I never even was able to meet with a doctor.I have never been treated so horribly by a doctors office in my LIFE!! I have been dealing with so many doctors offices right now but they have all been so kind. This one made me feel like I was a child, I was stupid, didn't know what I was doing, and talked down to me. This is not something you need to deal with on top of the stresses of something being wrong with you. I was only trying to advocate for myself and get a plan B into place to another GI doctor in Indy in case my current GI doctor can't figure out what is going on with me. When they called me to schedule because my doctor sent in a referral they acted like they didn't know why I was calling from the get go. I told them it was to get on the books for a second opinion/plan B in case my doctor can't figure out what is going on with me because I haven't had any solids for 8 weeks. She said they couldn't even get me in until Feb. I said that was fine and if my current doctor figured it out I could just cancel. She said well then why would you need to do that. I tried explaining but she didn't seem to want to put me on the schedule and talked down to me. I ended up hanging up. I called back after I bawled my eyes out from being treated so rudely. She said this was another lady but sounded like the same one and immediately told me she heard the conversation. She treated me like a child by multiple times saying don't you understand what I am saying and am I correct?! She said you are already currently being worked up by another doctor and we don't do doctor hopping. I ended up not scheduling an appointment with them ultimately if this is how they treat their patients. I think the doctors in this office need to know how they are treating their potential patients. I am happy with the GI doctor I have now I was just trying to get a plan B into motion in case they can't figure out what's wrong with me since it does take awhile to get in anywhere as a new patient. This was absolutely unacceptable and I have never been treated this way EVER by office staff. This is saying a lot too since I have dealt with so many with myself, my son having a heart condition, and other son with a cleft lip. You always treat someone with kindness because you NEVER know what they are going through. Do better!! read more

Staff were all very nice. Once the procedure started didn't even know it happened. The building is in serious need of being updated. Cracks in the wall in the hall. Dirty carpet. Stained chairs and very depressing colors. Painting on the wall in the waiting room in 3G was hideous. If they were to update they could give a little more space between the check-in prep bed areas and the recovery areas. Very tight space and only curtains between. You can hear every conversation. Absolutely a busy place. There were a dozen people in the waiting room and probably around the same number in the prep / recovery area. read more

Dr Feyeza Haider is a horrible Dr that is not the least bit curious about how to address a patients issue That might be a little complicated. I saw Dr Haider for over 10 years for my Crohn's disease. During this time I presented with the same symptoms that were worsening. Dr Haider did some diagnostic testing and determined my crohns was not active. She had no explanation for my symptoms and chalked it up to IBS. A lazy diagnosis at best and one that does not explain my symptoms. Out of frustration I went to the Cleveland clinic. Within 5 min of meeting a competent Dr he suggested my symptoms could be related to an earlier surgery. He prescribed some medication and within days I was remarkably better. Please be careful when selecting a Dr for Crohns and find a provider who is willing and to work with you vs dismissing your concerns. read more

Worst setup I've ever seen for a medical building. The building is filthy and smells. There are signs all over telling you to silence your phone and leave if you take a call. Patients are asked to provide personal information in front of everyone sitting in the crowded waiting room. You can hear everything - there is no privacy. There is a tv but no sound, of course. The recovery room is tight with patients packed in like sardines. I'm not sure how the doctors can even work in the tight space. Perhaps this is how they keep costs down in this outdated facility. But most importantly, the doctors are good, efficient and friendly. There is no coffee (or vending machine) for those waiting for you like other offices offer. Parking is tight. There has to be a better place to go for screening. read more

Besides the rude staff whom I dread calling to make an appointment, I have had nothing but positive experiences with the rest of the practice. The nurses are all pleasant and professional, and the doctors are the best. I see Dr. Baluyet and his PA Ryan Rosebrough, and can't say enough about them. I was greeted cordially at the front desk. All of the nurses introduced themselves and all were very pleasant and professional. My procedure started right on time and was painless. I read the negative reviews out of curiosity...not seeing it. My experience from reception window to the wheel chair out the door, is exceptional. Everyone on staff met me with friendliness and professionalism. I can't say enough about Dr. Scheidler. I regret not being able to recall others' names but, the anesthesiologist and the nurse(s) assigned to me were excellent! Oh, I guess I should mention that I have been a patient since 2013 with 5 visits under my belt (no pun intended) and all 5 visits have been the same great service and attention. I had an appointment with Dr. Baluyut and ended up having an endoscopy and colonoscopy (hey, if you're reading about a GI doctor on Yelp, then nothing is too TMI, am I right?!). I didn't experience any rudeness from any of their office staff, so I can't comment on that. I did have to wait for what I felt was a long time--about 30 minutes in the waiting room past my appointment time, and then another 20-25 minutes in the exam room until the MD came in, but unfortunately that seems to be a typical wait time for most doctors. Dr. Baluyut was friendly and I felt like he took the time to ask a lot of questions and was really listening to me. I didn't feel as if he was trying to rush me out the door, either. He didn't try to push unnecessary procedures on me, suggesting that I just have an endoscopy. I asked to have a colonoscopy as well since I was going to be knocked out anyway. read more

Dr. Arthur Baluyut is very kind, laid back personality,caring and professional. I really appreciate the medical staff when they call the patient to make sure Everything is going good. However, visiting this facility several times through out the years, I have always had a good experience. This time was different. The nurse had a problem finding my vein which became very painful. Arm was very bruised and swollen. I have rolling veins and sometimes a smaller needle is used, try my other arm or a use of a vein finder machine. The staff and the overall management of the practice is horrible, although my doctor is fantastic, it's not worth the hassle. Getting into see your doctor nearly requires an act of Congress and you'll wait months! The office manager is unhelpful and embraces the poor customer service delivered by the office staff and schedulers. The attitude is take it or leave it with regards to customer service and empathy. There are much better managed and patient focused practices available, save yourself the aggravation. But when your pipes aren't working, you want to know where to go, and you want to hear it from someone who's been there. Yes. I'm that girl. I have read several of the other posted reviews, and am in disbelief. Have had two colonoscopies and another procedure over the past few years. My experience this morning was A1, top notch, as all of my visits have been. The waiting room is a waiting room, not a fancy hotel lobby. Its a doctors office, folks. Check-in was super fast. Nick got me prepped quick and painless, Nicole, Anna and Jeni were all over the procedure, quick, kind and on it. Dr. Scheidler is simply the best, friendly, and makes things happen. They thoroughly explain everything and make sure you are comfortable throughout your visit. Its a busy place. Lots of hustle and bustle, and they get you in and out, which is great. This office has been terrible to me. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF AND RUDE!!!!!! I was scheduled with Dr. Haider for a procedure. Her office called me to reschedule because they were trying to get things figured out with my insurance company. so they pushed my date back a bit. Once they re-scheduled me, I then had to cancelled my GI procedure (first time with me doing so) due to a surgery date that came up for another health issue that was a urgent priority. My Primary doctor recommended along with ENT doctors that once the surgery was over we'll focus once again on the GI procedure and get it rescheduled. So, I recently called to reschedule with Dr. Haider and was told I was BANNED! KICKED OUT AND REMOVED from using the practice or any doctor within the practice. WHAT! REALLY??? I was in disbelief!!! Why??? I was told I had cancelled 3 times and had No shows 2 times for the procedures! I told them there's been a mistake or some type of misunderstanding. First I would never do such thing this is my health we're talking about! I only cancelled once and told them I would call back to reschedule after surgery. I cancelled 2 weeks before my procedure. I gave them more then enough time for cancellation and it's obvious they have someone else's cancellations on my account. So Dr. Haider banned me! So very unprofessional and just rude! No One will even Call me back or talk to me regarding this matter. The lady on the appointment line was very rude to me after she read I was banned! I asked to speak to a office manager and she just transferred me to a voicemail without saying anything else to me! She didn't even say thank you, well look into it or have any type of empathy or concern in anyway! I got a BIG CLICK in my ear and over to a voicemail. I left the office manager a message regarding the situation and she never called back. So I will go higher to report this mistreatment. This is very unfair and unacceptable!!! I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. I've never been kicked out of anything before and to make it worst a Doctors practice!!! WOW!!! I'm very sick and have serious, stomach issues, reflux and now extreme stress due to this! This has caused me to have to wait a additional 8 weeks to see another GI doctor with another practice! I have had only one colonoscopy, and it was at Northside Gastro with Dr Born. He and the staff were very nice and professional. No issues at all. I'm always a bit nervous when going under anesthesia; I tend to say stupid things, but they were fabulous and just joked around with me. Very comforting group. I first deal with the schedulers. They looked up my chart to be sure I wasn't scheduling too soon for my insurance to cover the procedure I was requesting. That was impressive. I then met the doctor who was very friendly and seemed to know all the past GI problems I have had. I was scheduled for an EGD to follow up on chronic GERD. I was scheduled at Northside Gastroenterology Endoscopy Center. Each staff member I came in contact with was professional, friendly and acted like they really cared about me. They called the day after to check on me. Then the doctors office called a week later to give me results and to see if I had any questions. I had a very positive experience and highly recommend Northside Gastroenterology for all your GI needs. read more

Doctor Schiedler & Dr. Wilson are really great. However, I feel sorry for anyone who has to interact with their staff. Scheduling is so rude and nobody is ever friendly.
