I took my husband to the ER on 4/10/26 for a possible concussion following a head injury, and I was extremely impressed with his entire care. From triage to being placed in an ER room, everything moved quickly and efficiently. A CT scan was quickly ordered, followed by an MRI/MRA and then a CT angiogram to make sure there was no aneurysm. We truly appreciated how thorough the team was. The nursing staff was exceptional--Riley, along with the male nurse before the shift change, were both attentive, compassionate, and highly professional. The imaging staff who came to take and bring back my husband from the tests were kind, respectful, and wonderfully caring. Dr. Nelson, the ER physician, was on top of everything and ensured that my husband received the appropriate care. Special thanks to Dr. Morris, the neurosurgeon, for carefully overseeing and confirming that each test was necessary. Our deepest gratitude goes to Karen Pennelli, the Neurosurgery PA, who took the time to clearly explain all the imaging results in detail and provided great reassurance, making sure everything was thoroughly reviewed and approved. I was told to be there for my surgery at 9:30 ,I was there in plenty of time. I wanted and wanted , I didn't go back for surgery until after 2:00 I had not eaten anything for over 24 hours. And they was wondering why I was upset. About the time I was getting ready to leave with out surgery they came in to take me back.a Little over 5 hours of waiting. My gallbladder was gangrene I didn't know that no one told me. The doctor his self I liked but the other was not professional at all Anastasia had no clue what he was doing (beautiful) . I told them I was having trouble breathing and they didn't believe me they told me you are fine but I still couldn't breathe good. I spent the last five days of 2025 at Northside Forsyth. I was treated very well. Timing is everything. I thought I should have been a two day visit. It was FIVE! Getting all of the doctors to align and speak to each other is tantamount to I think they could have done a better job over all giving the patient what they want. I am now home. I am not being harassed overnight for blood pressure, blood draw or IV alarms. I see the doctors on Tuesday. Happy New Year!! read more

Tell you that you have a fibroid and brush it off and tell you to Google the information when they're fucking doctors and physician, I will not be returning here nor giving labor at this fucking hospital. It's 4:15 pm on a Friday. I come to outpatient radiology for a referral for a basic X ray. I even called before I drove here to confirm they closed at 5. They acted like everyone was too busy and ready to go home, saying it's Friday and they had only one tech. She called another suite to see if they "had late hours"... again it's 4:15 pm. She sent me to the other suite that seemed overwhelmed; she asked why I was sent there. Explained she was too busy and I could walk BACK over and get the X ray where I started. This is trash service. I walked out after I was told it would be a "really long wait" since they had only 2 people working and said I would come back another day. There is zero work ethic anymore with these employees. Clearly they wanted to go home on a Friday. I'll go to another walk in clinic. Hard pass on this place. read more

My husband was discharged yesterday after 10 days. He received exceptional care from e very doctor, every nurse, every tech, even the food service people and the people who cleaned his room were wonderful. Never once did we feel anything but we'll cared for and we knew he would not be discharged until they had taken care of every issue. We have been to some of the best hospitals...Mayo Clinic, Emory...and we would put Northside up against any of those. read more

They explained the situation, suggested treatment, expedited surgery, and the best post care I have had in any hospital. During my ER visit, I saw Dr. William Jacobsen II, I felt dismissed and unsafe in his care. He minimized my symptoms, yelled at me, scoffed at my pain, dismissed me while unstable, and recommended medications that I have documented allergies to. His behavior toward me and the staff was unprofessional and condescending. I witnessed interactions with staff that were inappropriate and disrespectful, ie, yelling at nurses and referring to patients as whiny... I left the hospital feeling unheard and unsupported. Northside Hospital is usually excellent, but this physician did not meet any standard. If you see him, I strongly recommend involving a patient advocate and making sure your medical concerns are fully addressed. Northside, get it together. This guy is going to cause fatalities and litigation for you. read more

I was a patient at this hospital for removal of my left kidney. The surgery took place 11/25. From checking in to checking out I found this hospital and its staff to be impressive in all aspects that make a hospital outstanding--competent staff, cleanliness, food options, and quick responsiveness to individual patients needs. Throughout my 75-year lifespan I've been a patient or visitor in hospitals from Florida to New York and from Illinois to California. Due to nurse negligence, Northside Forsyth killed my husband. We requested an investigation and had some nurses come forward to say they observed negligence, but they covered everything up. My husband went in for a possible UTI and 28 days later he was dead. Nurses improperly infiltrated IVs, which resulted in blood clots. It took over 12 hours to have a vascular surgeon to come observe him, by then he was covered in blood clots. This treatment and cover up is a joke read more

Had a six day stay here in June. Admitting process in ER was quick and staff on 3rd floor was efficient and compassionate. Dr. DeSalvo was excellent in treatment and guidance. Love the hospital and staff, the billing is UNACCEPTABLE. I had an invoice, paying it each month. Each month they would call me about my bill; I told them I am making monthly payments on time, please quit calling me and I continued to pay them monthly. I am down to owing them $446.00 from a $2400 invoice and I received a Debt Collector letter. When I called the business office they said since I told them to quit calling me and that I didn't have a credit card on my account they sent me to a Debit Collector. The people who work here are nice and try their best. Where they all fail is pain management. If you come to the emergency room in pain...you better bring a bottle of Jack Daniel's with you because that will be the only relief you get for several hours. I went there yesterday and told every person I was in contact with that my pain was a 9. They told me nothing could be done till I saw a doctor 3 hours later. After finally convincing doctor I was in excruciating pain...they gave me enough morphine to sedate a hampster....not a 220lb man. Nice people. They suck at helping with pain. Was admitted inpatient. Overall Nurses were incredibly in-attentive. No one would home after pressing call button. Second calls were needed and then to actually go to nurses station to get them to help. Some nurses nice tho. Everyone is very slow. Attending internal med dr a joke and took 4 plus hours to get back to nurse about writing D/C orders. Food was good. Dietary very attentive. Shout out to nurse Holly for being kind and attentive when 75% of other nurses weren't. read more

People, read the posted reviews - especially about the ER!!! Here is another... April '24 - Took my mom in for an emergency blood clot. PCP called in advance, and wanted her admitted. She is 88 and has other health issues, and the clot was above her knee. (That matters!) Waited in the ER lobby for FIVE hours. ER sent her home with a potentially traveling clot. PCP was amazed. I think we were there for 10 hours! Fast forward - July '24 - She went by ambulance as she was feeling very sick. Instead of getting her the care she needed and a bed that was confirmed on the way, they wheeled her out to the ER lobby where she sat for THREE hours before they saw her. And! A couple years ago, I went in for a broken shoulder on a Sunday. The pain was the most intense pain I have EVER been in. I could not move a finger nail without excruciating pain. I was completely bruised from shoulder to elbow in purple. Waited the normal FIVE hours and then they put me in the hallway with a screen. Norse was the most condescending little B, told me "honey, if I had a bruise like that I'd hurt, too". and the PA could have cared less. They wouldn't let me see a DR, and didn't call ortho. They didn't even look at my arm until i said something and the PA said he didn't think I wanted him to. WHAT?! Then, and he knew I drove myself, was going to give me Oxi for the pain for my drive home. Said if it wasn't better in a couple days to see an ortho. MY SHOULDER WAS BROKEN IN THREE PLACES. Took four months before I could even start PT. Worst, most incompetent and unprofessional hospital ever. And the only good experience unrelated to these three doesn't matter. Three strikes - you're out NS Forsyth. Shame on you. Need a new hospital network! read more

Unfortunately there is not an opportunity to give this hospital zero stars for that is what they have earned. There are some good hospitals in the Atlanta area but this is not one of them. If you have the ability to go to Emory, Emory St Joseph's, or Piedmont you should do so. You should avoid this hospital. The people who work are go out of their way to communicate poorly or not at all. They are put out by having to do their jobs. The list of things they should do well but instead do poorly goes on and on. Usually when a hospital has patient satisfaction issues it all starts at the top of the organization. This hospital will STEAL YOUR MONEY I have been trying for 3 months to get a REFUND of my OVERPAYMENT. I have spoken with multiple representatives, including Nisha and Hassan, and have been transferred a dozen times. GO ANYWHERE ELSE! I have contacted the Better Business Bureau as a result of this continued disregard for proper bookkeeping and accounting practices after multiple attempts to have my $1,000 refund issued where they forced me to make a payment. They are continuing to hold my refund. This is STEALING. The insurance HAS processed and I have a CREDIT BALANCE for MONTHS The Business office is running illegal and questionable practices. Went to this hospital for a few stitches in one of my toes. Was there for 2/3 hours waiting and then had 5 stitches put in for the fix. Got the bill...for $2100 and paid the doctors fees. Now I have 2 other bills combining for another $4,000. My insurance company says they don't work with Northside hospital because it's extremely over priced. How do you let an insurance company completely blacklist a hospital...and not just one but all Northside hospitals? You would have thought when I entered and gave them my insurance that would would say hey...we don't work with this insurance company and I could have gone else where. Just goes to show how corrupt this place is. After calling up the Financial department they just don't care about anything expect ripping you off. Just very monotone and dead to the world voice will end up speaking to you. Anytime you question something they go back and say you signed this sheet of paper saying we can charge. I asked if they could explain how 5 stitches ended up being over $6000 in payments. The pricing is insane. For example they insisted I had an X-ray for 1 toe that clearly wasn't broken and then charged $1500 for something I didn't even need. Yes I need the stitches, but racking up a $6000 tab for 5 stitches is crazy. It's robbery of the people and they should be ashamed that they allow this to happen. Sadly I wouldn't recommend this place. The care I received when finally treated was rushed for what it was. When finally treated it took maybe 15/20 mins and the charges am left with are just INSANE. I currently am a patient at Northside Forsyth. This is not my first visit; I have been here several times before. I retired from the healthcare business several years ago, and, have been a patient at a out of state hospital before. My experiences with Northside Forsyth have always been excellent, no matter the reasons I was there. The staff has always treated me with respect and went out of their way to insure that I was taken care of in a professional manner. From ER check in, to admission to any of the floors, I have been pleased with the attitude of caring exhibited from EVERYONE I have come in contact with. From Techs, to respiratory therapy, X-Ray, Lab, foodservice, housekeeping, and all the rest, I have been treated with sincerity and care. And my Nurses have been most excellent, taking time to listen to my DAD jokes and general ramblings!!! I wish to sincerely thank them for expressing their professionalism and care during my "Visit" each time I have been a guest here. It is obvious that those making the hiring decisions have made great choices in their selection of associates and staff. Thank you all for making my visits feel easy!!!!!! Greg Long read more

The worst experience I've ever had if my dad who is 87 would've not had his cell phone I would've had no idea his condition after 4 days stay in there after a 911 ride there. And not to mention the ac outlets on his bed rail and on the wall behind his bed which totaled 6 none of them worked. So to charge his phone it had to be plugged in by the sink which he could not reach from the bed. So I his head nurse this and it never got fixed 4 days later but the room only cost 10k a day so I guess they couldn't afford to make them work. read more

Northside Forsyth Hospital... who can I speak with at the top of this awful place? My family member is in the hospital with one broken shoulder and the other shoulder had a total shoulder replacement a week ago. Long story short.. side effects of pain meds (after her surgery) made her pass out and she fell directly on her other shoulder. So both arms in slings. Obviously she is unable to move and this place offers ZERO and I mean ZERO help to feed her or do anything. I have never seen such incompetent people in my entire life. They have zero care that she can't do anything. I have made a small list of the ridiculous things they have done. I have already put in a complaint with patient resources (what a joke!). Came into ER via ambulance and was given morphine. It didn't work, but wouldn't give anything else for 8 hours. She was in excruciating pain. Keep in mind the patient is over 70 years old. After leaving ER: floor 9 1. Pain meds not given on time. Nurses don't have meds ready on schedule, they have to find the meds and takes over 30 minutes. 2. Techs have no idea what they are doing. Comes in trying to pick the patient up by her broken arm. 3. The charge nurse is a joke. 4. Rough movement with the patient who has a broken bone. Any movement causes extreme pain. The occupational therapist had to write a SIGN above her bed about this... 5. Not knowing the patients needs. Not reading notes from PT/OT, doesn't know pt is diabetic and bring her non diabetic food and drinks. Sugar spiked and had to give insulin (never had to have insulin in her life). 6. The night crew comes in flipping lights on, talking very loud. Has zero consideration for the patients. 7. Bed was broken and not fixed for 4 days after the OT demanded they change it. 8. Pt had to go to the bathroom and was bed ridden, got her up and feces went everywhere and not cleaned up. It was on the patient and was sitting in it. A family member had to clean it all up. 9. Cleanliness of the room. Staff are leaving the room a disaster. 10. No one knows why the patient is in the hospital. The OT had to write a sign above the bed not to move the broken arm and that she needs help eating. 11. She gets her food but doesn't eat for over an hr or doesn't eat at all bc she can't do it by herself. 12. Doesn't have drinks. Always hot and empty. Asked for drink and they bring her ginger ale and it's not diet and she is a diabetic.. Most of this people can chalk up to a bad day/staff, but this has been the same awful treatment for SEVEN days. I have spoken to the charge nurse/regular nurses and patient relations about all of it. I was told they would remedy the situation and put notes in her chart about movement and eating. No one obviously has done anything bc again tonight she was given dinner and can't eat it (after I left the hospital begging someone to feed her dinner bc I had to go - I was told "of course"). Anyone I can speak with that I haven't already would be wonderful, or just a FYI to the people who use this hospital for your loved ones. She is on the cardiac floor if that matters. read more

I recently moved to TN but had scheduled my surgery with Dr. Tucker (can you say the best ever!) so I kept my appointment. Drove down and paid for a hotel. Was at NSF a little early. I was greeted/welcomed immediately and directed to my fist stop. On doing the preliminary paperwork and paying for copay etc. I was ushered to my 2nd stop. Met some lovely ladies on 2nd floor who checked me in and applied my wrist band. After a torturously long wait (5 minutes) I was brought up to the 3rd floor for final prep. Nurses, Doctors & all staff were amazing! From the time I walked in to getting into my gown I never waited more than 5 minutes. The staff was incredible, I wish I could recall everyone's name. My name is Dennis tho and I just want to give a shout out to the staff at this facility!!!! (Bordering on creepy now so I'll sign off!) But, before I do. I drove from TN, spent my own money on a hotel to ensure a timely arrival and I'd do it again because this facility made what was a mildly stressful situation..... enjoyable! One would think that Forsyth County would eventually get a real hospital to serve the citizens of North Georgia, unfortunately Northside Forsyth is still a hospital waiting to happen. The ER is a joke with their arrogance and non caring doctors that think they are Gods. The nurses try hard and deserve a much higher rating than what I'm giving, however the nurses don't make the decisions. The PAs are either forced or just right out ignorant to carry out the stupidity of the doctors orders. Until North Georgia gets a real hospital with real doctors the public is forced to travel down to Piedmont or the main campus of Emory in order to receive genuine and knowledgeable medical care. read more

After receiving the care I did at Northside Hospital Forsyth ER For my first time there, I would just like to recommend.... If you have any pre existing conditions, I would highly recommend you go else where. I understand the hospital is close, but the drive to any other hospital would be a better option. Not one doctor that was under my care knew anything about diabetes. I was on a fight/flight mode while sick because I saw and heard the cluelessness in each individual that was tending to me. It took the ER 4 hours to even mention and starting an insulin drip. After 27 years of being a type 1, I know what DKA is and feels like. When a diabetic gets to DKA, it's too late for liquid hydration to fix it, they immediately need IV fluids and an insulin drip. They did not and would not listen to me, the patient. I had a heart rate at 166, and a low BP, a glucose reading HIGH; they made me walk from the bathroom down the hall way back to my room, no assistance. I was feeling lighted in the rest room and had to sit on the floor. I pulled and the emergency handle and NO ONE came. I eventually had to get up and make it back to the ER room area where I was, which then I got sick when I returned. I was experiencing a lot of chest pain from the elevated heart rate. They were moving so slow with everything. Once I got admitted to PCU, things got alittle better until yesterday mid day. When they decided to remove my insulin drip but kept me hooked up to the IV dextrose(basically a sugar bag) Which then eventually caused my glucose levels to shoot back up over 300s. I had to take things back into my own hands to get my glucose back down and have the dextrose removed immediately. The doctor wanted me to come off my pump to do shots instead. However the doctor only wanted me to do a short acting insulin without a long acting insulin included. Im typically not a non compliant patient, but when I know that was a poor choice to make, I told the nurse, I was not going to follow through with that advice. On my discharge paperwork it states that I am a type 2 diabetic and my discharge diet instructions is consistent carb diet... ‍‍ When I was first diagnosed, every doctor/nurse that was under my care knew the rights and wrongs of dealing with my disease. After this weekend, I'm completely in shock and concerned with what has happened to our healthcare system. I am completely thankful/grateful for the fluids I was able to receive, the insulin drip I finally got, and the meds given to help with the nausea, but I'm highly concerned about the lack of knowledge/concern/understanding that should be there as well! read more

My wife and I went to Northside Emergency at 7am on a Sunday. We walked in and we're quickly triaged and put in a Room. We spent about two hours in the ER the doctors, nurses, staff and facility were the best we've ever experienced. I will gladly go back and feel grateful that we live so close to such a top notch facility. read more

If you can go anywhere else, go anywhere else. Northside has a habit of using contract people for their ER so you will wind up with multiple bills and an insurance nightmare. They say the have a negotiated contract rate for these people but then say ok the insurance paid the contract rate and here's what we want on top of it, this is our actual rate. They use scam companies with numerous fraud complaints for their billing. And all of this was for a visit that took 5 hours to do maybe 10 stitches on a toe, and they stitched on a dead flap of skin which actually caused an infection and slowed the healing. They almost didn't bother to wash the wound first until we insisted because the wound had been in Lake Lanier for a while, and we expressed concern about the sewing on dead skin and they dismissed it. Drive to another hospital even if you are dying. Wife had sprained ankle but they dont give injury evaluation only a sheet with precautions for what may be wrong. Never seen an ER that didn't diagnose your symptoms,just give you a sheet of precautions on what may be the problem. The staff was another debacle. BeebeeAnn from Admissions stood in the middle of the hallway informing all of the 6 other patience and relatives in the hallway of all of my vital information including SS number. I stopped her before this noticing that all of the info was already on the sheet. When asking her what this was for she said HIPA. Informed her, wouldn't it be better that I looked over the sheet, and not inform the whole full hallway of my vital information. Jordan Nutt the Nurse on duty never gave a diagnosis of my wife issue, but instead told us her bone wasn't broken so she wasnt an emergency and this was an emergency room. What the heck to tell someone they don't count for care because they aren't an emergency. Was in the hallway with 5 other patients and their relatives for over 3 hrs, not one time did we in counter anyone in the whole encounter that remotely had a caring attitude. They were more worried about what her workmans comp number was. read more

*Disclaimer* I had delivered my daughter here in 2019 and it was a completely different, positive experience.. you all changed for the worst. My labor and delivery experience was horrible. Luckily, had no complications or issues in regarding my own health or my babies.. I would just NEVER recommend this hospital.. I had my son on 12/23/2020. The dr or whatever her title was who delivered my son probably said 12 different times to my boyfriend how shocked she was on how light my child's hair was as I'm trying to push him out. It was 1000% inappropriate. If I wasn't so out of it I would have loved to articulate to her exactly I how I felt. Instead of coaching me she decided focusing on making fun of me to my boyfriend. Did not feel any security or connection with the women helping me deliver. After 30 hours of my son's arrival, I was told at 11:45 on Christmas Eve that I had 15 minutes to leave the room. I guess because I had no issues they felt like I needed to leave. It "snowed" so there was ice on the roads. I had no car seat with me and was alone with my new baby and probably slept 4 hours in the last 72. My boyfriend is the general manager at a restaurant and worked Christmas Eve so I had to wait for him to come back. I had to rush him to help me pack and they rushed us out at 12:15. They also had our discharge papers state that we left 12/24 which is not true. At this point I am rambling, but I hope your take away from this experience is that at one of the most vulnerable times in your life when you need support, especially as a women, it was absent. I would never return here for help or if I had a third child. It was that bad of an experience for me. If you can't treat someone kind, why the hell are you working in a hospital?? read more

If I could give a 0 I would. My son was in a car accident with an 18-wheeler and having dizziness and they had him waiting 2 hours for just triage. It appears very unorganized and random for one type of race. Wby I said that? Because a white female came in walking alone and was in car accident she was seen at least 1 hour before my son. Then, after shift change with literally no one remaining waiting, we asked again how long and the new shift nurse, in a rude manner said, "another half hour, AT LEAST!" My wife was experiencing symptoms that could have been a heart attack (thankfully they were not) and these people pretty much just blew us off so we left and went to Emory Johns Creek, who 1)had an equal number of people waiting (zero) and took us in to see a Dr immediately, who did some real medicine vice having a front door of nurses apparently designed to keep patients in an ER from being seen. It was probably a busy night or something and that is ok, but do not be rude to patients, especially those who only visit the ER if they truly feel it's necessary. I am honestly so appalled by this treatment that I want to broadcast it literally on every social media platform known to man. read more
