The surgery was performed at Northside Hospital on Johnson Ferry Rd. I was admitted to Northside Hospital's 2nd Floor Neuro for recovery. I couldn't have had a better experience! Every single nurse and staff treated me with the upmost care, professionalism and personable attitudes. I chose to stay longer, because I knew I was being taken care of above and beyond! On May 19th 2026, I decided to have my lower lumber surgery done by Dr. Paul Jeffords and once again performed at Northside Hospital. Once again, I was taken care of beyond all measure and stayed additional days/nights, because I knew I was in the BEST care EVER!!! On July 28th, 2026, I had an additional spinal surgery performed by Dr. Jeffords and his team. This surgery was performed at Northside Hospital and once again, I was treated with the utmost care one could want. I, again, chose to stay an additional day, because of the superior care I received from all of the nurses and staff on the 2nd Floor. I am incredibly grateful to Dr. Paul Jeffords and his talented group, Scott Siegel, Shelby and Elissa! I am most appreciative of Northside Hospital's 2nd Floor staff to include: Arin - 80153, Jada - 80035, Christina, Jennifer, Catrina - 53355, David - 73712, Renee - 83293, Sam - 83333, Mae - 81991 (8th floor), Nonye - 82763, Sharale - 82949, Ruka - 73712, Ben - 81615, Austin - 77890 and Casandra (Kitchen staff). Thank you ALL for taking such wonderful care of me during my three (3) stays at Northside Hospital! William C. Frierson (Cliff)

She tried her best to get through taking vitals and everything so the doctor could see us as soon as he was done with the several patients ahead of us. Dr. Kim performed no real assessment and offered no solutions beyond a basic urinalysis. I had to ask for bloodwork, and I also had to ask for a prescription to help manage the pain I was experiencing. There was no attempt to investigate the cause of my symptoms or provide meaningful guidance. I was essentially told that if I wanted any real effort in diagnosing the issue, I should go to the ER or see my primary care physician--making the urgent care visit feel pointless. The entire interaction felt rushed and dismissive. Dr. Kim seemed impatient and irritated by my questions, and the initial consult lasted no more than three minutes before he excused himself, saying he had other things to do. I left feeling unheard, unsupported, and no closer to understanding or resolving my symptoms. This experience fell far short of what I would expect from an urgent care visit, especially when seeking help for something painful and concerning.

The lobby was literally empty on a Saturday. My loved one was evaluated immediately and there was a clean room available and staff who checked in frequently. We saw a friendly doctor who actually read the chart. It wasn't cold and we had cable tv to watch. Because it could have been minor or serious, my loved one was fed and given a room in the "Clinical Decision Unit" to sleep in overnight to wait for an MRI. Our room was comfortable and I was able to sleep in a recliner. The staff brought blankets and a pillow. This may sound normal but it's a world away from Emory University Clifton hospital where we paid to park and waited in a freezing lobby crammed with sick people for 15 hours before seeing a doctor. We literally heard people screaming because they were in pain. There were no doctors, a nurse said someone died due to lack of staff, one of the security guards was stabbed in the hand, it was like a horror movie! Even if you called 911 and arrived on a stretcher (which is recommended to fast track service), you'll be lined up stretcher to stretcher to freeze and wait like the rest of us. It took several days and constant checking for an MRI, whether you were admitted to the hospital or not. And I'd still choose Emory Clifton over Decatur or Hillandale.. But now we have a better option. The only area for improvement at St. Joe's would be a cafeteria open on weekends but food delivery is available. We don't always need an ER but when we do, we will go to St. Joseph's. It's worth the drive!

Anne, nurse aide was lazy she would stay seated at station when the buzzer was press for help with toilet assistance. She also disconnected sensors on bed to prevent falls then left room. Terrible experience for a disabled patient on this floor.

So why have a kid in pain come in, pay for an xray and then send you to children's healthcare! Also kindness matters... the lady who told me this, was with this attitude like when you talk so loud and fast so the other cannot talk like it was obvious they didn't do casts on kids! Its not obvious lady, just be human and don't say you can take a boy in pain if you cannot do ANYTHING TO HELP! I just hope you don't have to go through this with a son. I ended up in children's healthcare for 7 hours but at least with professional attention.

Remarkable Review - Emergency Care Team Date: April 22, 2026…read more I would like to take a moment to recognize the exceptional care my daughter and I received during our recent emergency visit. From the moment we arrived, the team acted with urgency, professionalism, and compassion. Cherrel, who arrived with the ambulance and her partner, ensured my daughter was transported safely and remained attentive throughout the process. Kendall, my daughter Ja'lyn's nurse, provided attentive and reassuring care, keeping me informed and making sure she was stable and comfortable. I also want to recognize Jacob, who stepped in and took initiative to assist with Ja'lyn's check when he noticed it was due, even while Kendall was occupied. That level of awareness and teamwork did not go unnoticed. Dr. Melnikoff demonstrated professionalism and thoroughness in evaluating and treating my daughter. I truly appreciated him going above and beyond by following up with my daughter's cardiologist to ensure they were aligned and on the same page regarding her care. That level of coordination meant a great deal to me. I also want to acknowledge the rest of the supporting nursing staff, who worked collaboratively to ensure everything was handled efficiently. Due to their swift response and coordinated care, my daughter received the attention she needed during a very concerning situation involving low oxygen levels and low blood pressure. Their ability to remain calm, communicative, and compassionate made a stressful experience much more manageable. I truly appreciate the entire team and their dedication to patient care. -Kay

Honestly when you're in the hospital for one of your children it is nerve racking enough! The way they approached everything really helped to keep us in the know and made it much easier to handle. In the end we got the best possible outcome from the excellent care they provided and the next day we were able to go home with everything better. I really appreciate this place!

Red flags right off the bat: dirty lobby floors and glass paned doors leading to the back area The receptionist was so busy talking on her phone, being very passive, definitely not something one would expect with a business having "Urgent" in the name. The staff do not escort you to/or from your room. You are simply directed to room coming in, and pretty much on your own to find your way out. The unfortunate "Im' just here" attitude - ZERO empathy - is disturbing, as well. Most importantly, is that I was not truly heard by the treating physician, Kim. Not the greatest shopping center to makes lefts in or out of. I grew up down the road from here and remember this building as Blockbuster. :) Ambiance: clean, modern, sleek waiting room. Chose this place based on my Dad's recommendation, location on Google maps, and that it had great hours of availability. The gal at the front wasn't too friendly, but maybe her coffee hadn't kicked in yet because she was really nice when we were departing. The nurse and the PA who we eventually saw in the back were so warm and professional. They really put my daughter at ease. From walking in the door with an online scheduled appointment of 10 to leaving was under an hour. We saw two other patients exit, and the building was very quiet. I imagine that the wait can be FAR longer during a busier time of the day, so I am so glad that our experience was a prompt and as pleasant as it was!
