Well there's a bit of negativity going on with you lot. I had been seen by Northside way back when they first started with the talented Dr. Gentry and moved away and came back and I am now seeing Dr. Bart as she was very kind towards my grandmother. This staff has been very nice at both the Northside and Trotwood locations and has been on point with financials and accommodating to me. I've gone here my whole adult life as well as all of my family. I'm shocked the reviews are so bad honestly. I see Dr. Bart and she's amazing. I always feel listened to and have always received good care. I saw people saying it was hard to get in with an actual doctor and I understand why. To me a doctor this good is worth waiting a bit for an appointment and the doctors and nurses I've seen as just a walk in have been just as good. My regular doctor at another practice wasn't able to see me and my girlfriend had been wanting me to get a second assessment on my condition so I scheduled a physical exam with Northside. The exam was conducted by an ARPN which is common now and they're thoroughly knowledgeable in conducting such. The ARPN was very kind and polite and gave me an over the counter suggestion for eczema that I had never heard suggested before that really worked. Impressive plus she suggested specialists I should consult with that had never been suggested before. I've been looking for a doctor to help me with suggestions to lose weight as I've got some stubborn subcutaneous fat that won't go away and I'm diabetic. Visited Northside Medical professionals family practice for an appointment. I did not get very far, The office attendant was rude. She must have a bad day. I could not see the doctor even though i had an appointment. I had left and called back. I was on hold a very long time. I drove back to find the attendant still in bad mood. I asked if she could hang up since i was still on the phone. She just glared at me. I will not go back. read more

I had my first appointment today at this facility for getting new GP in place to replace my doctor that retired I would recommend this clinic I go to Cassandra Ban nurse practitioner she's connected with Shawn Gentry. I've read many reviews about this clinic say they not up to par. I had no problems with anybody today whatsoever. Actually, everyone was very polite and respectful and pay close attention to what I was saying, and took my full medical history and all of my drug list with no problems, and no judgment very respectful, and once again recommended highly. I am looking forward to doing business with the clinic for a long time. If this remains the case, I probably will never have any problems there. Hope you read this review and take your chances like I did because after reading some of them that had been placed which I'm not saying they didn't have a bad experience. The times I or family have been seen at the practice there is always a billing or communication issue. We always end up owing additional money even when we pay up front and have been cash pay. Also, they routinely fail to communicate to patients updated policies that ultimately have caused long wait times and resulted in additional fees. My family member and I specifically made appointments together for an issue. we were assured we could be seen that way, but get here and are then told we can't be seen together--after taking our $ of course. Which has resulted in loss of time and money due to the extended appointment times and wait times. We had specifically planned everything with our work schedules long distance. It would be great to come here and not have an issue every time. Ok, I'm loving reading theses reviews. What you mean you actually have to be on time? Oh I'm sorry I guess since traffic held you up for five minutes you couldn't have left thirty minutes sooner like one should in order to prepare for that type of thing. Oh really? A whole 45 minutes in the waiting room? Oh I forgot you had an appointment right? Oh I guess that means that the doctor has to push out the other patients so you can go back! That makes a lot of sense!(sarcastically). LOL! Today was my first appointment, oh and who cares if it is a doctor or a freaking nurse practitioner, I mean it isn't rocket science! Oh and it is seriously not surgery! Come on people be reasonable about your complaining and look on the bright side, if they don't take late patients, well that means they are not going to be behind as much if at all, and furthermore that means that there will probably be less waiting for you too! Oh HIPPA violation really? I mean I suppose that means it is a HIPPA violation if you talk at your own place of business about some overly angry complaining person. It is not like they said oh this person he was so angry and that shows sure signs of stress and depression issues which he has been talking about already with us behind closed doors. No, they were probably upset because of your complaining, and like any normal feeling human being decided to talk about it to lessen those feelings. I mean isn't that what you are doing by all of your complaining on Yelp!? Anyways, now that is out of the way let's talk about my experience today. First when I called to make my appointment they said make sure that I arrive at least thirty minutes early, and so I got out my Waze app on my phone and calculated what time I should leave based on the traffic. I decided I would go ahead and leave which was probably an hour and a half before my appointment was to be. When I arrived, I talked to the lady up front and I noticed every staff member is very logical and straight forward like me so I got a long great! I guess if you are illogical or rude you may have a different experience than me. Based on the other reviews, especially the one about having to be on time, I can tell they may have a problem with logic and might need someone to hold there hand so the results that they received, well, it's not surprising. When I went to my pharmacy, my pharmacist said the antihistamine was not covered by my insurance, so they called and had another prescription sent which ended up not being in stock so one last time they called and everything was taken care of. I was probably at my pharmacist for like three hours with all of this business, but I didn't care how long I waited as long as it was taken care of that day then I was happy! I sat there and talked with another person at the pharmacy, read the newspaper on my kindle fire tablet, checked out the status of the webpage I had just started recently, and learned all kinds of things through all of the reading and listening I was doing! I mean it is all about your attitude and perspective. From my perspective, waiting is just what happens with any business that has to do with your health. It's probably no coincidence that is why we are called patients and the room we wait in is the waiting room. If you can't wait, or be on time, then you probably need to take care of yourself more by eating and exercising more so that you will get sick less. If your hours say you are open until 6:00 and your customer walks up at 5:45 and the door is locked, that means you are NOT open until 6:00. Called earlier today at 11:30am, no one answered (no one ever answers). Left a message and awaited a call back. Got a call back 5:42pm, missed the call and called right back. No one answered. Just like the other reviews the office is filled with unfriendly staff. They are more than happy for you to wait in the room for 15, 20, 45 minutes, but don't you dare be late or you will have to reschedule. Dr. Powers doesn't take any interest in his patients. Nightmare. A place a community goes to for "help". A place my entire family has gone to and trusted unequivocally for over 10 years. Only to be treated so terribly by the staff in one phone call over an appointment to simply get a refill, that I will never step foot back in that building. I was told by Meredith in such a harsh manner over the phone that being 4 minutes late (due to a cop giving a ticket just down the road) violated their late policy, AS I sat in their parking lot!! I sat in disbelief and silence and asked 2 more times if I could please just come in. I just needed a refill. Meredith said I had to wait 6 days or go to ER (wait, what?). I WENT IN ANYWAY. I took my health in my own hands and walked in that office anyway...where they were talking about me, then asked if I had just spoken with someone on the phone. I said yes and sat down in a room full of strangers who most likely heard portions of MY medical conversation with this horrible person. If the front counter girls heard and knew what had just happened, then am I to assume these people all around me are deaf? HIPPA violations outweigh your 4 minute late policy. My 4:15 appt, I signed the front counter book at 4:20, turned into me sitting, watching people after me come and go, watching time as I had to register my son for his 7th grade year no later than 6:00 PM . I had no idea if I would see a dr. No one acknowledged me for over an hour. I was being punished and I knew it. Over a refill that I was told I "should have done earlier". I was also told I had to see the provider that prescribed it (who is out for surgery). So who do I see in 6 days if that's your argument? I was also told by the dr that I could have just gotten a few to get me through for the 6 day wait...SURE! But she didn't offer me that option, my being 4 minutes late was a much bigger issue to Meredith, who lacks empathy, wanted to win her argument, and just simply does not see the bigger picture here, HELP. I somehow managed to wait until I actually got called back to a room (thank you, God for getting me a dr) to break down, a rare sighting, as some of the staff laughed loudly, said they loved each other, and called themselves a team just outside my door. This was around the same time the nurse read my 150/90 BP reading. The dr told me I was probably ok, I was just upset over the ordeal and the "miscommunication". Staff over patients here, got it. I got no apology, only poor excuses. But I DID get my refill (which apparently is a feat and a half at this dr office now). Don't take no for an answer when it comes to your health. From Meredith or anyone. My family was horrified and they all vow to never return here. And after reading so many similar reviews this morning, I knew, just as I knew to walk in to that dr office after being told no, that my duty is to send anyone that reads this towards a caring medical office with a professional staff. I don't even want to give them one star. I was 15 minutes late to an appt due to a 2 hour delay in traffic. I called to let them know twice and got hung up on....TWICE. When I show up, Charles Cornell refuses to see me and wants to reschedule without even seeing what happened or why. The irony is that I have had to wait over an hour before to see one of the "professionals" there and the last appointment I had with him required well over a 15 minute wait. No customer service, kindness or concern at all, which really bothers me about some medical practices. They know how to make a day go from bad to worse that's for sure. First appointment set up with an ARNP? Don't get me wrong, I love seeing ARNPs, but shouldn't your first appointment be with a doctor? Wait for 4-6 weeks for new patient appointment for ARNP. Issue at home with a contractor made me 5 minutes late for appointment so I called to inform them and was told I'd have to reschedule. I did....with a different Medicaid group. read more

I cannot say enough about Northside Medical Professionals!! We started going there a little over two years ago when my first son was born! We were highly recommended by several in the medical field to Dr Gentry. We could not be more happy. Now, that we had our second son, he is seeing Dr Gentry as well. I've never felt so comfortable with a doctor. He takes his time and answers all my questions, which is always important for young parents. I, also, love that they are open late and on weekends so if we need to see a nurse practitioner for a fever or cold that pops up on the weekend, we can. The added bonus is how easy it is to have all of our doctors in the same office instead of going to the pediatric clinic and then separate physicians for my husband and myself. I just can't imagine anyone being disappointed in choosing Northside Medical! read more

First, none of the actual medical doctors are seeing patients. So, you are going to see a nurse no matter what. Second, they will not call you back, listen to messages, and often blame the pharmacy for not faxing a refill request. It is THEIR responsibility to fill your prescriptions, and they can't even get that right. Third, they are so rude on the phone. I've hear enough of "Hear Comes the Sun" to pull my hair out! Fourth, I am strongly considering reporting them to the Board of Medicine and Board of Pharmacy for not fulfilling their professional obligations to care for a patient. None of the staff are friendly or caring. They are there to make a paycheck, and the turn over in the office is horrible. Avoid this place if at all possible. Go to an office that actually cares about and for patients, not these money hungry robots. read more
