Restaurant Manager Alex Tuckwin and Chef Ty Armstrong created a personal, unforgettable evening. Each course was beautifully prepared, each wine pairing thoughtfully chosen. The flavors, the setting, the kindness-all exceptional. I didn't know my taste buds could be so astounded! We felt welcomed, relaxed, and truly cared for. It was a five star experience in the heart of a college town. A hidden gem we'll remember for a long time. The Oread is home to two true artists-Alex Tuckwin and Ty Armstrong- and we are so grateful to have experienced their work.

There's no blender on the 9th floor so don't ask for a blended drink. There are a few appetizers on the menu and they are quickly brought up from the bar in the lobby. There is a sail covering over part of the bar, but honestly, even though it was 100 degrees during the day, it was quite pleasant at 8 PM on the roof.

And the views, well. Where else can watch planes taking off from Lawrence's tiny airport, see the cars streaming along I-70, and the tops of downtown, the gazebo in South Park, look down into the football stadium and more? And finally we had the No Blood Only Lipstick which was the most expensive drink on the menu but worth every sip. The service is wonderful! Everyone is friendly and knowledgeable.
