On the day before the appointment I had to reschedule, they were very nice and were able to move it just one day. It made my day that it wasn't a huge hassle to move the appointment. I will also be adding my review to Angie's List. We paid for a full siding job for our house after meeting with the owner of Franke Siding and Rain Gutters. He implied that he would be doing the job and offered all sorts of promises. Most of which we knew wouldn't happen but the bid was acceptable and he seemed great. He did not install the job at all. Instead he sent one of the worst people I've come across that has worked on our house. And that is saying something. The job took 3 times as long as promised. Which would have been fine because that is ALWAYS the case with contractors. Why they lie about such things is almost comical. The worst of this experience is that our siding is defective and seems to be melting off the house. This job was started in April and finished about the 3rd week of May. Before it was totally complete we already had pieces falling off the house. We had just brought my daughter home from Primary Children's Hospital on hospice and was at home, dying from leukemia. The owner still didn't give one consideration to our problems to come and replace the defective product as promised. I feel, for this alone, he has no soul! Aside from the defective product, his employee cut our tenants cable lines and we had to have Direct TV come out and fix the problem, costing us money. The owner, Mike Franke, promised SEVERAL times to reimburse us this cost and has not done so. Mike came to our house in June to look at the defective siding. He stated that he had never seen siding appear to melt and that he offered a lifetime guarantee on our installation and the product. He said he would get with the manufacturer and would get the siding replaced. This was in JUNE! I have never heard from him again. He had also promised to bring me a check for the cable repair when he looked at the defective siding but conveniently forgot his checkbook and promised to return the next day with the money. I haven't heard from him since this visit in June. I have emailed him repeatedly and I have called and texted and I have never heard one word since his visit in June. If I can do anything at all, it would be to warn EVERYONE not to do business with this company. He is not an honest person. He doesn't care about providing a product that he promises. He has no soul! I am a tenant at a property where the roof was replaced by David Brown Roofing. Part of my…read morebackground was being an inspector and I am now a contractor. I've done over 5,000 roof inspections in my career thus far, so I've pretty much seen it all. I know what works and what doesn't work. When the workers arrived the first day, I went out to meet the foreman and introduce the family dog. The tear off went well and they worked diligently. I was even asked if it was Ok for them to park the dump trailer in front of the front entrance, which I gladly obliged. After that, courtesy went out the window. The workers parked the dump trailer in the middle of the walkway from the rear entry to our vehicles without asking and then left it there all weekend, so we're having to navigate a new path to our vehicles for no reason. After that, they had to clean snow off of the roof several times and piled it on the main walkway over a foot deep without clearing it off. I came home that afternoon and my sick wife is out there cleaning off the walkway so she can get to the car without falling. They used our snow shovels. No big deal, but they left button caps stuck between the metal blade on the shovels and the plastic. No worries, we'll fix that. They also just left the shovels strewn about the yard. We'll pick that up too. When they left every day, cleanup was on the bottom of the list. There is trash strewn about the yard every day. They are now finished and gone and there are button caps all over the driveway. The flashing job was shoddy around the chimney. Instead of addressing the siding, which is warped from moisture absorption and generally poorly installed, they simply installed step flashing around the chimney. They didn't remove the siding and trim, which is what I would have done, they just flashed right over crappy siding and trim. The corner trim sticks out more than the siding, so I was pretty shocked when I saw how they flashed it. Then they installed a counterflashing over all of that and sealed it up, so it is functional, for now, just completely unprofessional in my opinion. When any pressure is applied to the counterflashing, it gives way, meaning it will need to be monitored. When snow builds up on the shady side of the chimney, it will thaw and freeze and thaw and freeze. The ice and snow will build up at this location and it ends up putting a lot of pressure on the flashing that has no real backing. If they had ran a 1X4 along the bottom of the chimney, the flashing would have solid backing and I wouldn't have to worry about it in the future. The roof sheathing is soft above the water heater flue, which means it is moisture damaged. This was not repaired. They also knocked the water heater flue off twice. I kept smelling exhaust inside the house and finally checked the furnaces and water heater and reinstalled it. Someone please tell the roofers that when they move an exhaust, it can release carbon monoxide into the home. In the end, I can't recommend this company. They need better oversight and training for their workers. This is especially disturbing for a company that has been in business as long as they have.

I had a complete re-roof done recently with this business, I have a skylight on my roof and they…read morebuilt a new enclosure and added flashing for the skylight as they should but the skylight enclosure was not built correctly and air was passing through and also a loud whistling sound could be heard when the winds are high. I called the owner and he said he would come out and correct it, he came out and spent 10 minutes on the roof and put tape around the enclosure that he had built but the wind and weather blew the "fix" tape off so I called and he said he would come out and repair it ( because he and I both know that the tape was not going to hold ) but he never came back or bothered to contact me back to fix it so I had to pay some other contractor to come out and repair this brand new job that was "completed" by Casey Roofing, while the other contractor was up there he told me that there was one area that the previous roofers ( Casey Roofing ) pulled out some siding to attempt to fit the new shingles under because the shingles I paid extra for and were thicker than the previous ones they had an issue with that area and did get the shingles under how they should be but they damaged siding and never fixed that either and never told me about it when it happened because they knew it would cost them time and money to fix it correctly so they never said anything. I paid extra for upgraded shingles and paid for a complete tear off and replace at significant cost. If you are considering a roof replacement I highly recommend to not hire this contractor, he has no desire to do what is right he is only in it for the money.
