I stopped in for a beer at this recently opened beer tap room. They feature about 16 draft beers from regional micro breweries. They also serve white or red wine. No food is available but they welcome people who bring "take out" from a nearby restaurant. For their beer selection, beer is a personal taste. My taste leans toward amber beer, and they didn't have amber on the day I was there. They had several fruity brews, made with lemons, mangos, raspberries, etc. The bar tender said it was the summer selection. They also had IPAs and a porter for those who enjoy dark beer. Decor is a little spartan. The bar is concrete. I spent some time having an interesting discussion of particle physics with another customer. This place is barefoot friendly.

NorthStar is an awesome addition to Cheney! Best beer selection in town with constantly rotating taps. Served by the pint, growler fills, 12 and 16oz crowlers, and a good variety of beer and cider in cans/bottles to go. Chill atmosphere with games and trivia. Plenty of indoor space, an outdoor patio, and it's even on the free shuttle route during EWU football games! No kitchen, but it's just a few doors down from the best Mexican restaurant in the area -- Arturo's -- who will deliver to the taproom!

On the way back to Tacoma I stopped in Cheney, Washington. My first time visiting this town. I was…read morewondering why there was no brewery here a few years ago since it can barely count as a Spokane suburb (and maybe doesn't) and was a college town. I kind of found out why. Cheney isn't really that big of a place. But along came Inland Ale Works Brewing Company and Cheney now indeed has it's own craft brewery to have and enjoy. I went in here after playing a Community Day for Pokémon Go at the nearby university and bumped into a few other players as well. But once I was finished I was ready for a nice, cold beer. I got the El Kabong, a Mexican Lager which I enjoyed pretty well. Sometimes I get picky with these types of lagers and desire them best when they are aged in tequila barrels or have a peppery kick to them. This one wasn't exactly like that but it was refreshing all the same with it's clean and crisp aspects that were pleasant after my moderately lengthed stroll. It was more on the biscuity and bready side this lager. A nice little bonus was complimentary popcorn which I was definitely in the mood for as I returned back to the Interstate and continued my return journey back to Tacoma.

Inland Ale was listed on our Harvest Host RV website and although we did not need a place to stay over we decided to check it out. I wish I had caught the name of the brewman behind the bar as he was super friendly and attentive. We brought our tiny dog and two teenage boys. They had IBC sodas and played Connect 4 and Chess while my husband and I had a pint and visited with another couple seated nearby. Lovely atmosphere, delicious beer (we had the lager and the hazy lemon shandy blend). It was a refreshing and delightful stop. We will definitely stop back by!

West Plains Brewing is one of these and am glad that I became aware of it. The lady that was at the counter was super nice and very congenial to visit with so that was very nice. I was having a difficult time trying to decide out of their beer options as to what to have so I went with a taster set and that was a good choice to have made. I tried four different beers from that taster set and I liked them all very much! One of the beers was the Cerveza Fria which was the brewery's Mexican Lager. It was pleasant and refreshing with a slight biscuity flavor and a crispness to it that is perfect to refresh yourself with on warm days. Another beer I had was the Allegiance which was an Amber beer. It was biscuity also and went down easy where it would be very easy to get more of this beer in one sitting. The third beer I had was the Muddy Boots. I liked the maltiness in this beer. While the beer is rich to drink it also comes across as light bodied which gives it an overall nice balance. The fourth and final beer I had was an Oatmeal Stout by the name of Broken Paddle. I do like Oatmeal Stouts and this one was no exception. The flavors you can enjoy in this one are chocolate, coffee and roasty in the beer. The beer is smooth but also comes across as light bodied which you occasionally see in some stouts. A very nice visit to this brewery and worthy of returns whenever I am back in the area.
