If you're considering NW Houston Heart Center - READ THIS FIRST! Dr. Aslam and his staff are thoughtful, intelligent, and most importantly - they listen. My 76 year old father had spent years in pain going from physician to physician knowing that something was wrong with his legs, but only ever had inconclusive testing. Yet, the pain continued. It made it difficult for him to walk, move around, drive in cars, and pretty much do anything he was used to doing, he even had to quit exercising and his health started to decline. When he was about to give up on his efforts and possibly accept the fact that his quality of life had ended, he was referred to Dr. Aslam for vein treatment in the hopes that maybe the issue was circulatory. Initially the test results were inconclusive, and where most doctors would issue their diagnosis or suggest additional tests, Dr. Aslam listened to his patient and took a look at the problem from different angles. It wasn't long before it became apparent that my dad's issues were circulatory. Dr. Aslam and his team quickly went to look further into the issue and discovered that plaque deposits had clogged over 80% of the arteries in his legs. If left untreated, he would have had at least one of his legs amputated within 18 months.. but it didn't stop there. Dr. Aslam and his team knew that if this issue was in one place it is likely in others, and during their investigation they found that the circulation from his heart to one of his kidneys had the same plaque deposits, and if left untreated would have cost my dad his life. In light of all of this, my dad was recommended to have surgery to remove the blockage which he accepted. During the procedure one of the devices placed in his leg became defective, came loose and dropped all the way in his leg - Dr. Aslam's team worked tirelessly for over 9 hours in surgery to save my dad's life again, and they did. You have a lot of options when considering a physician for this kind of care..sure the wait times matter..the friendliness of the staff matters..the bedside manner of the doctor matters.. but at the end of the day the only thing that matters is the compassion they have for you and I can say from first hand experience that Dr. Aslam saved my father's life when no one else could. I have been a patient of Dr.Aslam for 20+ years, that alone tells you how good he is. He is very professional and caring person. I know several people who see him and they all agree no one is a better cardiologist than him. read more

Incredibly professional staff! I enjoyed their office and the doctor was very informative.

I am deeply hurt and concerned that Dr. Aslam has such a non-professional and rude staff. I have been at their front desk for long periods of time because no one cared to verify may insurance. I do have a credit there why don't they refund it to me? I have worked with The Texas Medical Center in Houston. My husband was a patient of Dr. Denton Cooley, Dr. Wayne Dear and Dr. Moon. In all my years of being there with my husbands open heart surgery and later transplant I have never seen such lack of concern for the patient. There is no excuse for the length of time I spent in their office on my last visit only to be told I couldn't have my echo done. It was also suggested that I get another cardiologist. I would like to suggest the Houston Heart Center have their office staff trained in professional courtesy. Thank you so much. At my age and with my experience in the medical world as an employee and the family of a open heart patient I do not need any help in how to find a Doctor or how to do an insurance claim. read more

The staff here (technologists) could bone up on their patient etiquette. Today, I accompanied my daughter to the echo room. The technologist who came in did not introduce herself. She did say she was going to do an echo on my daughter's heart. The room was painfully small. So small I was asked to wait outside. My daughter said that while she was laying down with her gown open in the front and her chest exposed, other technicians kept opening the door, wide open - coming in the room - without knocking - and conversing with the tech about something or other. These intruders didn't identify themselves either or tell my daughter what they were doing in there. I was with my daughter in the exam room. The paper on the table obviously had not been changed since the last patient. There was an open over flowing garbage can in the room. Excuse me, but every doctor office I have ever been to has a concealed trash can. Another tech came in, didn't identify or introduce herself, and said, Hop up on the table!!! and I said, not with the paper like THAT!!! and she said, oh yeah we are going to change it. She totally wasn't going to, she was in a huge hurry. The paper was changed and my daughter sat and immediately the blood pressure was taken. The tech didn't wait for my daughter to sit just for a minute after having jumped up on the table. She had that monitor cuff strapped on in thirty seconds, therefore my daughter's reading was sky high, twenty points higher than normal. Another tech came in to put the sticky pads on her, said Lift your shirt and the tech who was leaving could have waited til the pads were on to leave in order for other patients strolling the hall to get a peek or , the tech putting on the sticky pads could have waited til the other tech left to ask daughter to raise her shirt. The timing was so poor. . No one was in sync at all in that office. Then, as we were sitting there waiting for the doctor, another tech actually did knock, came in the room and took a pair of sunglasses that was sitting on the counter (you can see the sunglasses in the pic with the trash can). She said NOTHING to us, like excuse me or, I'm so sorry to disturb but I forgot these glasses...nothing. The exam rooms look dirty. Dirty floors, unkempt appearance in the entire room. My daughter works in an E/R, is a health care professional, and KNOWS what patient and office etiquette is. At this moment I can hear her explaining to her dad that it was weird to see an office forgo proper patient care. We didn't get a very clear explanation of my daughter's problem but ultimately did find out what we came for. The explanation was confusing but it could have been a language barrier. read more

My care was good from the staff here. Dr G and his Nurse (her name is Amy is think) were great and had very good bed side manner. The techs I used for other things I needed were very nice as well. I will say that this office is very busy with tons of staff and doctors all over in the back, but with all that they made me feel important. My wait time was long but I've had longer. No issues with billing. read more

Dr. Kuldeep "Danny" Talwar was my doctor and also performed my surgery. An excellent cardiologist and got me back to good health. One day last year I was told he left the Houston Northwest Heart Center practice so had to see another's doctor there. That was not a good example. I could not understand him and he gave me erroneous information about one of my meds. The nurse assistant was rude and no one seemed friendly at the front desk. After much searching I found Doctor Talwar who opened his own practice in Tomball due to the decline in services from the Houston Northwest Heart Center. I am happy to have found him again to continue assisting me with my heart health and someone who is determined to better his patients lives. read more

Filled out the "new patient" paperwork. My husband's name was called within a few minutes. The facility was very clean & the staff extremely helpful. About an hour after we left, we realized we'd forgotten to ask the Dr. a couple of questions. We left a message w/ the receptionist & the Dr. called us back promptly & answered all the questions we'd forgotten to ask, patiently. We had a great experience. read more

I would stay away from the place. I scheduled an appointment a month in advance. The technician cancelled my appointment. When my prescription became up for refill they only filled one of my prescriptions. I called twice. The first time I was told they would check with the doctor and call the pharmacy. They didn't do either. Did not even call me back. Ziera told me I had to schedule an appointment to get my other BP meds. I guess the doctors there must not be making enough money off their patients. read more

My only complaint is that nasty tasting coffee that you offer your patients waiting in the lobby. It's not drinkable, please upgrade.

The doctor is a great thing answer all your questions all way down to the young lady that took my blood pressure. That's where it stops. the workings and the front office are horrible One girl doesn't know what the next girl is doing it's not consistent they don't return phone calls they don't follow up on what they say they're going to do if this was just on the doctors they will probably get a better score I am just starting this process I will revise it in a couple weeks. read more
