It was a short ER visit because they were thorough and got to the root of Mom's issue right away-even taking care of some ear wax that was blocking her hearing and dismissing her soon to be ex PCP for communicating that she pneumonia- for 5 years!!!! This ER found out that her lungs were clear and no pneumonia to be found! If you're not having a life or death situation but you can't get to your PCP or youre in major pain or distress, I definetly recommend a HM Emergency Room like this facility.

The wait to be taken back was roughly two hours, and while that was difficult for both of us, what set Memorial Hermann Cypress apart from other hospitals I've experienced was the care, professionalism, and genuine empathy shown by every staff member we encountered during that time. And by everyone, I truly mean everyone, not just the doctors, CNA, LPN, RN, APRN clinical staff and surgical team, but also the front desk team, environmental services technicians, and hospital security. Every single employee we interacted with carried themselves as if they had a personal, vested interest in how my wife and I were doing. No one treated us like a number or a task to be completed. Once we were taken back and evaluated, things moved efficiently. My wife received the necessary testing, and--most importantly--her pain was managed promptly. After the issue was clearly identified, the staff went above and beyond to ensure we were informed, comfortable, and genuinely cared for. At no point did we feel dismissed or rushed. A first-time emergency surgery is typically overwhelming, but the team at Memorial Hermann Cypress handled everything with a level of quality, compassion, and professionalism that is increasingly rare to find. She gave me a thorough exam including administering special drops that would "illuminate" the extent of the injury, determined it only needed an antibiotic ointment, gave me a prescription and sent me on my way. Everything from check in to check out was seamless and professional. The facility was clean, organized, and well run by all involved. I hope to not need their services in the future, but if I do, they will be my first choice.

My mother, who is 50 years old and diabetic, was admitted on Saturday, 11/29/2025, for a severe foot infection. Instead of prioritizing the infection and her significant pain, the initial focus was placed on managing her blood sugar, which is not what she was admitted for. Despite her pain and swelling, meaningful intervention was delayed. On Monday, 12/01/2025, a doctor finally evaluated her and ordered a CT scan. At first, he informed us that nothing was found, but shortly afterward he returned and stated that "small metal fragments" were present and needed to be removed. He claimed to have removed them, yet her foot showed no improvement the following day. To make matters worse, on the following day a finance administrator named Martha--working in the Intensive Care Unit--approached my mother regarding payment of her deductible. My mother was told that if she did not pay immediately, her insurance would not cover the remaining balance of approximately $60,000. This was not only misleading, but also deeply inappropriate, especially given that my mother was alone, in pain, and at times struggles with understanding some English. She contacted her insurance, who confirmed she did not need to pay the deductible upfront. Despite this, she felt pressured and intimidated into paying because of the administrator's statements. This is unacceptable, and I intend to file a formal complaint and speak directly with the case manager regarding this incident. My mother is only now receiving surgery today, followed by immediate discharge. The delays in care--from both nursing staff and physicians--combined with the unprofessional handling of financial matters, highlight serious issues within this facility's operations. Based on this experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend this hospital or its emergency department. I hope you all will never experience this. I'm shocked that individuals in healthcare can exhibit such poor attitudes, inadequate care, and a complete lack of accountability. Doctors and Providers have to do better with creating environments where questions are welcomed because the patient should be invested in their care because that patient is the only one responsible for ensuring they take all the action items needed! I personally did ask all my follow up questions because I know I am in charge of my health and following whatever I need to do for myself. But I did take a few notes to make sure I was able to share with the office manager the interaction I had with this woman as a new patient.
