I'm so grateful for the excellent care I've received by Dr. Jorgensen and his staff at the Northwest Pain Institute. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was able to navigate the clinic's website and message/request for appointment features.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I received a prompt reply to my inquiry, and was able to book an appointment right away- important right now since I'm in so much pain.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Dr. Jorgensen treated me in June 2025 with a steroid injection in my back, and I was pain-free for over a year. But my spinal stenosis pain returned last month, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]I appreciate that the staff, specifically Michaela Westover FNP and Robby, the staff person who scheduled me, were able to provide an appointment to get the same effective injection- for which I'm extremely thankful![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I highly recommend Northwest Pain Institute. If you are a Chronic Pain Patient suffering as my wife is, then please please read before choosing this Pain Management Doctor. I can speak on this directly because I accompany her to every appointment and procedure. My wife was a patient of Dr. Trevor Jorgensen at Northwest Pain Institute in Cornelius for nearly 3 years. She has a very long documented history of legitimate chronic pain due to spinal spondylosis, spine foramenal narrowing, occipital nerve damage, and autoimmune inflammation. She was previously stable on agonist pain medications for over 14 years prior to her provider retiring. After which the nightmare began. My wife's previous provider (Dr. Vladimir Fiks & Bridgett at Advanced Pain Management) abruptly cut her medication multiple times without warning which threw her into unnecessary torturous withdrawals. She was forced the 1st time without any warning or options, and the second time was accidental due to an admitted calculation error on their part. However what was unconscionable was that the error was not corrected and Dr Fiks said "oh well.. I wouldn't have done it that way, but what is done is done." She tried another Pain Provider. He reviewed her chart and stated "Her history is just too complicated for him to take on." Now desperate to get away from Advanced Pain Management she was given a referral to Northwest Pain Institute. Dr. Jorgensen immediately pressured her to switch to buprenorphine, ignoring her concerns about pre-existing mouth issues, weak enamel, and chronic mouth sores. He insisted it was better for pain and downplayed all side effects. The transition was an extremely traumatic experience. She was given vague instructions, no after-hours contact, and no safety net should something go wrong. [[HIGHLIGHT]]What followed was an intense withdrawal episode that I can only describe as inhumane. The distress and suffering I witnessed from her experience was heartbreaking, and the office offered no acknowledgment, compassion, or accountability.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Months later, she developed severe increased acute rib pain. Her previous provider (Advanced Pain Management) believed it to be a trapped intercostal nerve but offered no diagnostic steps toward a resolution other than a temporary steroid injection, and pain meds. Neither treated the pain or made daily movement and even breathing tolerable. Similarly, at Dr. Jorgensen's office, despite the stabbing rib pain becoming her primary pain concern, she continued to be prescribed buprenorphine and was never properly examined for her principle pain issue. As her husband, I also raised concerns that buprenorphine is known to block opioid receptors--meaning other pain medications wouldn't be effective during procedures like nerve ablations; this was downplayed. When I asked directly, Dr. Jorgensen falsely claimed that "buprenorphine doesn't block other pain meds," a statement easily disproven by numerous medical studies. Knowing she had spinal spondylosis and previous ablations with a provider 10 years ago, she repeatedly asked if diagnostic testing, scans, or other procedures could be done to address the **root cause** of her pain. She was given nothing other than Buprenorphine or a nerve ablation. Not even a referral to a neurologist for an MRI. During her nerve ablations, she was given only a minimal dose of fentanyl, which wore off before the procedure ended. One time, when she was unable to skip her buprenorphine dose the day before, she was left feeling every burn and needle insertion. Even in obvious agony, he refused to offer additional relief, stating she'd received "enough." It felt medieval and cruel. Over two years on Buprenorphine, she developed severe dental decay, repeated infections, and lost over 70 pounds from being unable to eat due to oral pain. I can say with certainty that the only new factor was buprenorphine. Her dentist confirmed that her mouth would never stabilize while she remained on the medication. [[HIGHLIGHT]]At our final appointment, my wife pleaded for an alternative--explaining that she was in constant mouth pain, unable to eat, and going broke from dental costs. Dr. Jorgensen refused to see her personally and sent his PA to deliver his response: "No."[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] That was it. No conversation, no empathy, no effort to help someone suffering and pleading for options. Just "No." In my opinion, this is not how a pain management provider should treat any patient. Is it not your job as a Pain Management Physiatrist Doctor to help: 1.) When a patient is in tears begging for help, asking for some treatment of the root cause and not just being fed damaging drugs like Buprenorphine. [[HIGHLIGHT]]2.) When that patient is clearly suffering from the side effects of the very medication they were pressured to take, you dismiss them without care or alternative options, refuse to talk to the patient and consistently send the PA is unacceptable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Please consider all of this carefully before trusting your care--or the care of someone you love. read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Dr. Jorgensen is, in my experience, arrogant, dismissive, and lacks compassion. He has a fragile ego and treats patients who question him with condescension.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was a patient at this clinic for 2+ years, referred by my rheumatologist. I have a lifetime of documented pain, injuries, and autoimmune complications and have been on pain medication for 17 years. I qualified for disability on the first attempt due to extensive documentation of chronic pain. Despite that, Dr. Jorgensen immediately pushed me to switch to buprenorphine, dismissing my concerns about mouth sores and weak enamel--even though I told him I already suffered from chronic mouth issues. He insisted it would be "better for pain" and claimed side effects were minimal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The transition process was a nightmare. I was given no clear instructions, no after-hours contact, and no warning about what to do if something went wrong.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I followed the instructions on the bottle (3x/day) and took a second dose during intense withdrawal. My husband said it was like watching a horror movie. I later found out I "wasn't supposed to" take more than one dose-(over a 20+ hour period) information no one provided. I was reprimanded by the office manager for not knowin[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]g what I was never told. Months later, I developed debilitating rib pain believed to be nerve entrapment. I had been working with the PA (Makayla) for 2+ years, only seeing Dr. Jorgensen for procedures. Makayla suggested seeing a gastroenterologist (for rib nerve pain) and never performed a physical exam. Dr. Jorgensen also told me that being on buprenorphine "doesn't block other pain meds" - which is factually untrue. Research clearly shows that high-dose buprenorphine blocks pain receptors, rendering opioids 90-100% ineffective. He performed nerve ablations with only a small dose of fentanyl, which wore off before the procedure ended. When I couldn't skip my buprenorphine dose before the next ablation, I was in excruciating pain, and when I attempted to discuss, I was told "it happens" His opinion overruled my reality--and medical literature. Over two years on buprenorphine, I developed severe dental decay, constant mouth infections, and lost 70 lbs because I couldn't eat. My dentist told me, "Your mouth won't stabilize until you stop this medication." I was in distress for months. Makayla said she'd speak to Dr. Jorgensen. At the next visit, I was told he said, "She only has fibromyalgia--she's not in enough pain to warrant a different medication." He refused to speak with me. When I said this felt like a violation of medical ethics, Makayla said, "I can't tell you if he cares or doesn't care." I clearly stated I could not eat, I was in constant pain, and my dental issues were financially devastating. His response was still "No." I have audio recording[[HIGHLIGHT]]s of this interaction. In my firm opinion, this office treats chronic pain patients with dismissiveness, arrogance, and a shocking lack of compassion. I urge you to find another provider. The Doctor at this location is okay, not very personable and if you get injections, he waits until you're face down, walks in, does a quick injection and walks out without every looking at you but what gives this an overall 1 star is their staff and billing. I received a bill 8 months after my last appointment for services 10 months back. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I called the staff was marginally helpful and passed me onto their billing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had several issues with late bills when I was getting services from this provider and before my last appointment, I made sure there were no outstanding debts. They informed me everything was paid up, yet 8 months after my last visit, I get a bill for services 10 months ago!!! Avoid this place at all cost, [[HIGHLIGHT]]additionally they have a Doctor's Assistant named Michaela, who likes to use big medical terms like she's fresh out of school trying to impress someone and just confuses the heck out of you.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She also would try and coach me into saying my pain lessened, when it had not and then told me I needed to say I was at a certain pain level to have insurance cover my service, which feels like lying. He and his staff have always been friendly and kind.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I arrive for my appointments I am checked in quickly and taken directly to an exam room.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I am almost always seen by a MA and then taken to the procedure room within 5 minutes or less. The pain injection's that I receive from Dr Jorgensen have always been successful and effective. I have recommended Dr Jorgensen to my family and friends that also deal with chronic pain issues. i have been a patient for 2 years they did take me out of pain untill i asked for a epidural dr jerkinson jabbed shot into my back without ct scan put the shot into the nerve i was in so much pain , the pain got worse it lasted almost 4 months they told me we cant do anything for your pain now they told me to go get a massage or anything else he is a jerk or just a jack ass , peace health salmon creek specialty clinic is a better choice they are in Vancouver wa they have real drs and nurses there im a patent and very happy to say im not in any pain no more frank g read more

Went for a test for carpal tunnel syndrome upon the referral of my Primary Care Physician in February 2025. I was 5 minutes late and the Dr told me we therefore he must rush through the visit. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had to ask him to tell me what he was doing and as he went through the multiple painful shocks to my hand and arm he did not speak or show any compassion for the pain I was in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]By the time I left I was crying, both because I was in pain, and the physician who is a pain specialist lacked any type of empathy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I asked him about further treatment and he informed me that that was up to my primary care doctor and that he had only been consulted for testing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When he wrote notes to my Primary Care Dr he explicitly mentioned I was ten minutes late, although I arrived 5 minutes late and then proceeded to say that I had been upset because of not having further treatment, which was not at all the case. I was upset because of the poor treatment I had received during my visit and the pain I was in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I have contacted their office to submit a complaint and not heard anything back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I have lived with chronic pain for years and I would expect someone who has treated it as a specialist would understand the importance of connection and compassion in treating patients with chronic pain who are often brushed off by physicians and treated as if WE are the problem.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] read more

When I tried to reduce the dosage they threatened to say I was noncompliant and stop treating me altogether. I went to another provider. read more

I was referred to Northwest Pain Institute by my primary physician. I have been a regular patient for a couple of years dealing with a myriad of chronic pain issues, and the team at Dr. Jorgensen's office has always been empathetic and professional. They offer virtual appointments as well. The injections in my hip have helped me walk without the severe pain I had been experiencing for many years. I appreciate their attention to detail and always being willing to order tests/refer me to other physicians to get to the root of whatever issue I'm having. I don't think you can fairly judge a business from a single visit. I am very grateful for their ongoing care. read more

I had an appointment yesterday around 2pm. They picked me up with no warning, I was in the shower when the knocked on my door. The ride experience was fine, we got there on time. When I got out of my appointment around 3pm, the bus was nowhere to be found. I waited for 10 minutes, with no ride. I called the gentleman who brought me to the clinic, he said he had left and wasn't taking me back. I had to call a coworker to pick me up and take me home. I would have been waiting at the clinic for 2 hours waiting for a second ride, to take me home. To make matters worse, the doctors and nurses were VERY rude. They told me I was addicted to opioids and that I was "doctor hopping" throughout the clinic. Worst overall experience ever. I will never go back to this place. read more

They do not listen prescribing meds that are expensive and uncalled for e.g. buprenorphine used for chronic pain and/or opioid withdrawal neither of which I need. I need occasional relief for some knee and foot pain. I told that I did want full time pain relief. My insurance did not cover it:$230 for 28 days. You can become addicted to it read more

Dr. Trevor Jorgensen does not spend time listening to patients. He is abrupt and interruptive. I do not recommend him as a compassionate provider. He is interested only in having you make multiple return visits so that he can bill for multiple return visits. read more
