I'd read nine bad reviews and thought I was about to walk into a medical circus. Instead? Total opposite. These folks are pros. First off, I got a tetanus shot from Heather (pretty sure she's an assistant), and I swear to you I didn't even feel it. She was done before my brain even registered there was a needle in the room. I was honestly stunned. Then I had bloodwork done by Riley, and again... no feeling, no digging, no fishing around. Usually when I get labs done, I feel every movement like they're trying to tune a radio in my arm. Not here. Riley was quick, smooth, and genuinely impressive. The ladies at the front desk? Friendly as can be. The place itself? Clean, organized, zero chaos. Everyone I met acted like they wanted to be there, which is rare in the medical world. What really blew me away is how simple the online system is once you set it up. Yeah, the first-time paperwork is a little annoying (anything new is), but once you're in boom you can check test results, message people, see what's next... it's like logging into your bank. Easy. So if you're like me, scrolling through reviews and stressing yourself out relax. You're in good hands here. I walked in worried and walked out smiling. Do not go here and waste your time or health with this office. You will not see your primary care without exceptional waits and will be better or dead before you are seen by your doctor. When another provider in the office finally gets to you, don't expect anything to come of it. Better off just going to urgent care, as that is where you will be going anyway if you want to see somebody and get something resolved. The worst. Look at the consensus star rating. Let me start out by saying I've been with Northwest Primary Care for over 20 years. I have gone through several doctors there as they've retired or moved on and many insurance companies as my employment situation has changed. And I have never thought of changing clinics because I got such exemplary care through them. Fast forward to now. I lost my job and right afterwards was injured when my car was rear-ended, which diminished my job search. When my previous employer's insurance ran out, I was put on the Oregon Health Plan. I just got off the phone with their business office, and after I told them my insurance has changed, the clinic dropped me because they don't take OHP. I am trying to get preauthorization for a critical MRI and I've run out of medicine for my heart failure, but they say I'm not their patient anymore. Now I'm scrambling to see what I can do to get my much-needed medicine, and I'm going to have to call to cancel my MRI which I spent several months trying to schedule. My circumstances will change, and I'll get insurance that I'm sure that Northwest Primary Care will take, but I will not go back to them after this. read more

Be cautious with preventive visits. I was charged $305 for a separate office visit during a routine physical for a referral, with no separate exam or evaluation, and the clinic refused to provide written justification. read more

They have you fill out forms giving them background information before you come in, however, they did not even bother to read the forms. Dr. Davis did listen to symptoms, or where prescriptions need to be transferred to - this created a big mess. Heck they didn't even bother to do the transfer for several days after it was requested. I have been with NWPC Happy Vally, Dr. Moses, many years. My care with Dr Moses was consistently " Top Notch ". Dr Moses retired and my health needs were reduced to a blood vessel specialist/surgeon at OHSU, referred to me by Dr. Moses. Last Week. I was seen by Doctor Davis, and everything, every detail of my visit was " Top Notch! ". Doctor Davis and the entire staff were very pleasantly professional. I explained my health problems, Dr Davis listen, asked questions as he needed, directed his staff to perform specific additional testing and examination as directed. Reviewed the results and returned with directions regarding my specific medication requirements as well as blood testing to follow. I was possibly seen 10 min. after my appointment time, but the the care I received was excellent and I fully expect it will continue at this high level in the future. read more

I go there because I need a care provider. Dr. Callahan and her staff are all very nice and treat people nice. The office staff is nice also. Really the only thing I wish they had is a taller chair. For older people who have a problem getting out of a chair. There is a lab there so you can get you lab work done there. The phlebotomist are also very nice. I would recommend this clinic in happy valley to anyone. read more

I'm rating NW primary care in general. I left them years ago because of difficulty scheduling and accessing doctors and other health care providers. However my primary care moved her practice and is working for them and I cannot access them. I have been trying to make appointment for days now and when they finally called back they're refusing before I call my insurance, though the instruction for my doctors patient on the recorded message didn't mention that. Beyond frustrating. It is impossible to get ahold of anyone there to make an appointment "due to covid." Yes we're still using that excuse nearly 3 years later. If this were ANY business other than healthcare they would be out of business already. Why do we all accept sub par health care at outrageous costs from people who do not care... I was supposed to be a new patient but I was going to be 5 minutes late for my appt because my map took me to the wrong address. I called while I was headed there and they said if you can't be at exactly your appt time then you have to reschedule. No grace period. Nothing. The girl I talked to even sounded like I was bothering her....to do her job. I work in a clinic and this is NOT how you treat patients. I'm beyond frustrated since I waited months for the appt in the first place. I won't be going to that clinic now. read more

Worst provider ever! I called today to make an appointment, which only took them 90 minutes to call back. Then, without any communication about why I needed an appointment, they focused ONLY on how my insurance card had my first and last name in the wrong order. This issue lingered since October last year, which had nothing to do with their billing my insurance. I told them that I would check again to ensure my name was correct before the appointment, and they refused. I then escalated to the business manager who was even more relentless about the ability to bill the insurance. If you have noticed by now that nobody even asked how I was doing and the reason I called them. So I had to ask, are you a healthcare provider? Obvious, if you can care less about me, you have some ethical problems to work through as someone who is suppose to provide care to others in need. I am no longer a patient and I'm taking my family with me. I don't want to get political, but this level of care that Americans receive is the lowest that I have seen anywhere in the world. So if even with high insurance rates, Cigna can't get my name right so I can't see a doctor when I need to. Lovely! read more

Today I saw the worst doctor that I have ever been to in my 51 years of life!! I cannot tell you his name because he didn't bother to introduce himself or to ask my reason for my visit. After he walked in the room he started typing his notes straight into his laptop. I felt I was competing for his attention. Even then, he was getting the information wrong and didn't grasp everything that I was trying to communicate to him. I am very sick and have so many symptoms that I had brought a complete list of what they were along with onset dates. He didn't even bother to look at them and returned my sheet to me along with all the previous tests and the copy of my last mammogram which his assistant had photocopied. I explained that I haven't had insurance so I've been getting all my testing and doctor visits done in Nicaragua whenever I visit my family. He was condescending or racist or both, since he acted surprised that I brought my X-ray plaques all the way from Nicaragua. I tried to reply, "Of course I did!! I live here in the US, in Happy Valley!!" I have serious health issues. It's suspected that it is lupus or polycythemia. I explained to him that I lost 13lbs in the month of January. I am only 4'10" and now weight 112lbs, so that is a lot for me! Six of those pounds I lost in a matter of 5 days. I explained that I've had 6 separate occasions when I felt I was dieing and if I'd had health insurance then, I would have gone to the ER. He was not at all concerned about that. He mainly wanted to schedule me for a colonoscopy and a mammogram, even the last time I had the latter was 14 months ago when I had my implants removed. I also had an ultrasound and everything was normal. Money is limited and this is my first time buying insurance in 25 years. I need to spend my money on tests for my actual complaints, not so that this doctor can check off his boxes. What is required at what age is common knowledge and you can find it online. I need a referral for a hematologist. Instead, I got a call this afternoon to let me know that they referred me for a mammogram. I explained to this doctor that I divorced my husband three months ago because his nicotine use and residue was affecting my health. On their intake questionnaire there were several questions about depression which I marked "yes" to. He didn't even touch on that! He instead kept on focusing on mammograms and colonoscopies. It's a shame that this doctor is so horrible because his staff provided excellent customer service, from the receptionist to the phlebotomist. One thing that doctors need to understand is that they are not the experts, the patients are!! I have had my body all of my life. I know every sound, every smell and every sensation. When something is not right, I know! I do not ever plan on going back to see this doctor or to this office. I see in other reviews that this medical office has had other BBB complaints that went unanswered. First thing in the morning I will call my insurance to complain and will not renew. Rather than paying my monthly insurance and what they bill me for doctors' visits, I'm better off paying out of pocket and going to see a doctor of my choosing who actually gives a crap. read more

I've been going to NWPC for years, and I can't take the abuse anymore--it's time to find someone new. One of my prescriptions is a controlled substance, which means I have to call in each month to have my prescription sent to the pharmacy. NWPC's policy is that prescriptions can take up to 72hrs to be sent out--this doesn't account for the time it takes a pharmacy to fulfill the order, or if they'll even have the medication in stock, and if it's not in stock, you have to repeat the process all over again, which is problematic for people like myself. Since my medication is one I can't just stop taking, I try my best to request a prescription as early in-advance as possible, but NWPC does not allow me to call in a new prescription for this medication unless I'm down to about 5-6 pills left. Do the math: Let's say I call with 5 pills left, they get my prescription out 3 days later (2 pills left), I call the pharmacy to make sure it'll be ready on time, but they're out of stock. Even if I call the doctor's office that same day, the 72 hour clock starts over (typically the next day), and if it takes 3 more days, I've now gone 2 days without medicine. This is unacceptable! If you're like me and are forced to rely on others to complete what seems like a simple task, but instead get treated like a number, trust me when I say it gets worse. NWPC is even inconsistent with the task of sending in my prescription correctly. I will sometimes have to go a couple of days without my medication, due to their negligence and lack of competency. My most recent experience has been one of the worst. I called on Thursday (1/25/24) to request my prescription and mentioned I would run out of medicine after I take my dose on Sunday. I got a text message from NWPC the next day, that confirmed the prescription was sent out. I didn't hear anything back from the pharmacy, so I called them on Saturday and they said they could not fill the prescription because the qty of medicine was missing and only came with the instructions for how many to take and when--they put an inquiry back to NWPC, but since it's the weekend, it was unlikely they'd respond. At this point, I know I'm not going to have my medicine in time by Monday. I call NWPC on Monday morning to try and get this resolved and they tell me the reason the pharmacy couldn't fill my prescription was because they are out of stock--that's a bold-face lie and an attempt to cover-up their mistake. I call them on the lie, but all I get is a verbal shrug and "I don't know what to tell you". So I tell them to send the prescription to a different pharmacy. I again stress the urgency of needing my medication because I'm already out. I hear nothing and decide to call the pharmacy. They tell me they have a prescription and that it'll be ready by 6pm. I'm now under the impression that NWPC sent the prescription, but didn't notify me that it was sent. I got to the pharmacy to pick it up and of course, there's an issue--the quantity of pills is on the script, but not the instructions for dosage. So I call NWPC yet again today (1/30/24). I express that I'm getting stressed out and frustrated, because I don't have access to medication I require. I am given the run-around from an employee who could care less about my situation, and when I request a call-back if any issues arise, I'm told it's best if I call back in later today to see if there are any issues---seriously??? It should not be this difficult to receive adequate care. Each month, or every other month (if I'm being generous), I run into these types of issues and end up missing days of medication due to a staff that don't appear to actually care about their patients. If they would communicate clearly, double-check their work when they send out a prescription and do-so in a timely manner, I wouldn't have anything bad to say, but this is the reality. read more

Update: Letter from the BBB in regards to my formal complaint. "BBB contacted the above referenced company on multiple occasions regarding your complaint. To date, we have not received a reply, therefore, BBB is obligated to close your complaint as a "no response" which will be reported to the public for the next three years. This absolutely shows a pattern with this company, please beware, do your homework, choose another Sleep Center! read more

I've never been treated so horribly by any doctor. Dr. Moses Gallegos was, rude, arrogant, demeaning and refused to look at my injury. I had passed out at home, fell down the stairs, and my knee was bent behind me. I hit my head, hip and back on the way down as well, but it was my knee that was swollen and so very painful. Without leaving his chair, he asked if I wanted an X-ray. I said, that's why I'm here, so you can tell me what I need. He said ok, but I only had an hour to get to another location for X-ray. Then he got up to leave. I stopped him and asked if he was going to even look at my knee, and he said, "what would that accomplish?" I was unable to get an appointment for an X-ray until three days later. I spent $25.00 on a copay, and received nothing except having my BP checked. The nurses were as always wonderful. I have been a patient at NWPC for close to 30 years, and have never experienced anything like this before. read more

They need more staff. Over a month to see doctor because she is only there on Mondays. Over 10 days to get results back from home sleep test seems excessive. I am walking around exhausted and needing answers and I feel I would have been better off going to a different sleep clinic..... still waiting on the results of my home sleep test. read more
