My insurance had found this place due to them being the cheapest place to go to for a Cat scan with contrast. It was easy to schedule the appointment. The facility was easy to find with easy parking. When I walked into the gilding I was greeted and checked in. They gave me paperwork to fill out. I didn't have to wait long after turning in the paperwork. The process for the scan went really good at first I thought it was lengthy due to me having to pee really bad after receiving the contrast. The worker she told me I could go but I told her I would just wait until everything was finished. The care I received here was phenomenal and the worker who worked with me was very friendly and she explained everything she was doing to me. I went to the Carmel location for a breast MRI. When it came time to inject the contrast, I experienced extreme pain and screamed out for them to stop. The two techs came out and discovered that they had not put the IV in a vein so the saline and contrast was injected into the soft tissue of my arm. I had a bubble the size of a softball under my skin. I was sent home with an ice pack and had to return two days later to have the contrast part of the MRI repeated. When I returned for the remainder of MRI, they had an actual nurse put the IV in my arm. I proceeded to get in the machine and the techs did the rest of the MRI. But when they moved me out of the machine, they realized that the contrast and saline did not go in my arm at all. Instead it sprayed out of the open port on the IV and was all over the floor. After cleaning that up, they asked if I wanted to stay and complete the MRI and they said they would inject the contrast by hand rather than having it go in via a programmed release. I agreed to stay and on this third try, the MRI was finally completed. Needless to say, I felt like I was in the presence of very unprofessional, untrained people. I will never return to this place for my future breast MRIs. read more

No! No no no! Initially I liked this business but my most recent experience left a sour taste in my mouth. Radiology techs SHOULD NEVER interpret results. Please just leave it to the specialists that we see post results that come back. I was experiencing debilitating anxiety after results from an ultrasound came back and I had to wait almost 4 days to get in with my specialist to give me the TRUE results of what was found. I've never cried more.. thank God it wasn't the bad news I originally thought. Please just steer clear of this place if you can. I'd even go as far to say I'd pay out of pocket elsewhere if I need any further images. read more

Everything goes exceptionally well with NW Radiology. I have been in Indianapolis for almost 40 years, and trust Northwest for all of my scans & X-rays IF I have a saying. Some physicians are governed by there practice affiliation to use certain Radiology practices. When given a choice, I choose Northwest Radiology at 10603 N Meridian St. care quality excellent, staff very respectful of your time and of you yourself. I've been trying for months to get my primary care to send a Refferal to this place for me to get a procedure done. after many failed attempts it finally got sent. I've called and called and called and left multiple voice mails, and sat on hold for 20+ minutes just for it to go to voicemail. this location is over half an hour away from where I live and I have a busy schedule so I can't just easily drive there and talk to someone and shouldn't have to. Disaster from start to finish. MRI led to a ultrasound. Ultrasound tech didn't have a copy of my MRI. Post Ultrasound had zero notes from a physician other than recommending a biopsy. Biopsy was performed and results were never communicated to my doctor or me. After nearly 2 weeks of waiting and 4 phone calls, waiting on hold each time, finally connected with the PA who did the biopsy. Only to learn that results were "nondiagnostic" because the PA failed to get enough tissue from the biopsy. Then, tried to get me to redo it. Be forewarned. read more

If you need any kind of test done it's always best to shop around! I had no idea how much cheaper it was to get things done here, but my doctor saved me a ton of money with my high deducible insurance. I went here in 2018 for a number of different things. I had to get a sinus x-ray for my ENT and I also had to get an ultrasound after my mammogram and an one on my thyroid all in the last month! They are taking covid very seriously. When you get there you call and wait in your car till they are ready to check you in. It's worth checking out prices and they seem to get you in pretty quickly too. I have to get some repeat stuff in 6 months and I plan to use Northwest again! read more

I believe the first person you encounter at any business can make or break your experience. Although everyone I've dealt with in the back have been very nice and professional, the blonde woman at the desk is just not at all friendly. Her name may be Tammi? I couldn't fully read her name badge because of how it was attached to her clothing. Working in any environment dealing with the public especially healthcare, being friendly matters. Today I wanted the results of a test. I walked in and told her what I was there for. At no time did she ask for ID. She printed out what wanted and handed it to me. The paper had my full name, date of birth and my Doctors name in it. I wonder if this is a HIPAA Violation? Tammi...smile be friendly. It cost nothing. read more

We brought my elderly father in on 9/12/2023. The gentleman at the desk was very friendly and helpful. We did not wait long. My father had an accident, which they discovered when he undressed for the test. While I ran to a nearby store to buy new pants, the tech (I really wish I had gotten her name) cleaned him up, put on paper pants and clean socks. She was very discreet and very professional. She went above and beyond the call of duty!! I should have gotten her name but she deserves a huge raise. She was so understanding and friendly even after all that!! This is our third visit to this location and I am very impressed with their service!! I would recommend them to everyone!! read more

I arrived early to my appointment at the dated no frills building off of 106 in Carmel. Parking was easy and accessible. The gentleman that signed me in was wonderfully friendly. This is first appointment where getting credit card info was not the priority. The waiting area is recently redecorated and whimsically upscale and comfortable. The magazines were pretty beaten up. But was ok because I was called almost right away which was a surprise. The technician was friendly and apologetic about the temperature of the room. It was unbearably hot. But she was quick and efficient. She explained each procedure. She was a five star. I was out in ten minutes. Unbelievably quick. The staff is outstanding. Billing nightmare! I got a call from collections for $350. I asked the claim went through insurance & the gal said to call NW Radiology to make sure. When I called, Karla @ NWR was the rudest person ever. I asked what my balance was and she said $350. I told her that I looked online at my EOB which shows member responsibility was $245. KARLA stated that my insurance company doesn't send them EOB's AND since I didn't respond to two billing statements legally they don't have to honor the 'insurance adjustment' of $105 since I was in collections. REALLY?! She said 'you can look that up, it's a fact' and 'you're not the first person who I've had to have this conversation with'. Terrible customer service. My dos was 05/03/24 and insurance processed the claim 08/29/24 but yet NW Radiology DOESN'T ever have to find or access EOB's to make sure the are billing or turning into collections the correct amount?? She said I should call the collections company back and pay with them. I said can you take my $245 now and she said she would after looking up & verifying the $105 adjustment, which she could see?? Just wow. Six month after the dos and I'm trying to get it paid. Glad my employer is not using NWR in 2025 so I don't have to deal with this billing department again. read more

Meridian; listed as Building A: While the front desk staff are amazing, and my dr. sent me here for great cash-only prices (which they delivered on, hence 4 stars;) I must note the following: 1. directions (Siri, maps app on phone) sent me to Building B; then I had to hobble with my suspected broken foot to Building A which is south of where I was sent. Apparently others have also had that problem. (I deleted the Maps app & will reinstall; hopefully this will correct that issue.) 2. When I filled out the intake form, I listed one phone number under "Work, Home" (there is no "Cell" option.) Therefore, they did not contact me with my results/how to access the portal, because "they didn't know it was a cell number." ??? Despite other complaints about this, they still haven't changed the form, which seems like a super-easy fix. Another option would be to just call the number given to find out. Again, though, the front desk ladies are extremely nice, caring and professional, as was the lady who took my xrays; and that was much appreciated! read more

The facilities and the actual imaging process are fine. The downfall of the business is in the shoddy reporting by their radiologists. I've gotten two brain MRIs and both times the report was completely bare bones and lacked about half of the elements that they're supposed to have. I've gotten numerous brain MRIs and there is no comparison between the reports from other places and NWR. I will not go back. read more

Apparently the Carmel location is confused about the fact that they are there to serve patients. I called to make an appt for an X-ray and was told they only do walk ins for X-rays. I showed up at 7:05 and was told they were closed. Oh really? Website says you are open until 8? I also tried to come last week and showed up at 725 and was told that they closed at 8 and wouldn't be able to fit me in. So as it turns out, the guy tells me that they leave when they don't have patients. Well guess what? You do have a patient, and it's me! Now I need to reschedule my dr appt because I don't have the X-rays I need after two attempts at this location. No, I can't make another trip back and no I can't come early tomorrow morning. (My answer in response to the employees questions). Why should I have to to accommodate your employees who clearly aren't interest in working? Perhaps aligning on some standards that do serve patients would be a great place to start. Your patient experience is one I will never recommend. In a world of choices, you have helped me make mine, and I won't be back the next time I need an X-ray. read more

I went to get my CT scan done with contrast dye. The scheduling was all over the place. At first they told me "No they can't take you today" then they call me at 1 p.m. same day "can you come in right now?"... I dropped everything and came. The tech who was performing my procedure was NOT experienced. She began "fishing" in my arm for my vein....I asked her "what are you doing?" - no response. I asked again : "Are you "fishing"" - she said : "Yes" I told her not to do that. She behaved like she was doing me a favor and I was too difficult. After poking my 2 arms with needles she finally inserted her needle. She began pouring the contrast dye into my vein and then I hear this loud "pop" and terrible terrible pain!!! I began to scream! She comes in and asks me "what's wrong" I cry from pain covering my face with my hand. She sees my arm that became blue and x3 the size of my arm. Turned out, she injected the contrast dye under my skin! My arm was not movable and I was in terrible pain. She brought for me an ice pack and escorted me out of their imaging facility into their waiting area while they were to check my test. She told me "she got what she needed" i don't know how accurate it was... She never apologized, She told me I could go home after about 10 minutes of waiting in their waiting area with triple sized of my arm. I could barely drive home with one hand. I was unable to work or do anything with that arm for the rest of the day. I wrote an email to them via their website. Nobody ever contacted me, nobody even apologized. Yesterday they sent me their full bill for their "services"... The quality of their healthcare or care in general significantly disintegrated after their flat fee prices. Next time I will choose another provider. With BETTER and more EXPERIENCED personnel and service. read more

This is a very efficient place even during Covid restrictions. I did call ahead to make sure that they received my doctor's order; glad that I did since it wasn't in yet. Finally showed up. Arrived there at the North Meridian location and masked up. The registrars were quick but might speak up and even smile (even though masks are in place). My name was called quickly and the tech took me back. She was very pleasant and explained everything. Completed quickly and out the door! Yes, I recommend this place. read more

I took my daughter for an MRI on her ankle at 8:46am on a Sunday morning. Two days later they called and wanted us to come back for additional images with no explanation. Couldn't get us in for 2 weeks. It turns out that they did the original MRI on the wrong ankle. It has now been over a month and we still don't have the results. Thank goodness she is not injured to the point where she can't walk read more
