The cooks cooked the food quickly, and the seafood was really fresh. I ordered the shrimp and conch dinner, with mac and cheese for the side. I also ordered conch balls and conch salad. The conch salad was decent, but I liked the shrimp and conch. The conch balls were good as well. I didn't too much like the mac and cheese, so next time I'll select another side. Man listen...not a whole lot to say about this place except for the food is excellent. The 4 star rating is due to the long wait times. I chose two catfish fillets that were cut up and fried into nuggets. Best catfish nuggets I've ever had; EVER. I also tasted the shrimp and oysters. Shrimp was good, but I think they shorted me on my oysters. To avoid the long wait times you may be able to call your order in. They answer the phone when they feel like it. They some time have numbers for you to pull, and on any given day your number will be called for you to be served, but on this particular day they did not. Today, I visited the Northwest Seafood Outlet. This was my first time here but I was excited to try it because I heard their food was really tasty. There was no one inside when I went to order so I was able to place my order quickly. It is a seafood market so they sell fresh seafood as well. You can place orders for meals or buy the seafood fresh and they will cook it for you if you like. It is a clean establishment and everyone had on mask (mask policy enforced as well). I ended up getting the seafood combo (fried conch, fried shrimp, fried fish fingers and french fries) and conch balls. The combo was $17.99 and the conch balls were $2.99 for 4 balls. It took 20 mins for my food to be ready. The seafood combo is good, highly recommend that. I wouldn't get the conch balls again though. The ball is pretty much nothing but dough, barely any conch (picture of the inside of the ball included). Overall, I would recommend this place and I definitely would go back. If the conch balls were better, I would have giving them 5 stars. Also, it is easy to find so you won't have any problems getting lost. read more

My family has been coming here for as long as I can remember. The conch is always well-tenderized and seasoned appropriately. The service is friendly and quick for the amount of people that are always there. It took about 20 minutes during a lunch rush and it was made fresh. Never any issues here. Just wish the parking situation and the fans inside were better. Maybe some more seating as well while we wait for our orders. Decent restaurant and fish market. Depending on the time of the day that you go, there could be a bit of a wait. The staff is a hit and miss sometimes because they're taking orders for the market and restaurant side at the same time. So I know that that can be hectic at times especially if people are holding up the line because they don't know what they want. You pick the seafood you want and tell them how you want it cooked. They also have combos with various types of seafood; fish, shrimp, conch and fries for example. The prices for the seafood and fries are reasonable. I do not recall if they have sides other than fries. If they are cooking it for you, there is an up charge on top of how much the seafood cost per lb or however much you get. I believe it's only a $1 though or something to that effect. The fresh fish here is good. I think it is a little pricey compared to some places that I frequent on a regular. Not a huge difference but a difference. I think that it just boils down to preference and where you are when you want some seafood. At least for me. But again it can be packed in there so you have to time it right or you will be waiting. Parking is non-existent. You have to park on the side or create parking. That is a little hectic. I have been coming to this fish market for years. Sometimes I cook my fish and sometimes I let them cook it. The quality of the fish is good and fresh, but when it comes to customer service and order this is the worst place in the world to come to. So I arrived at the fish market at 12:03 pm and placed my order. They said it would take 20 minutes for my order to be ready. So I patiently waited. After 30 minutes I asked what was the status of my order. I was ignored by 3 employees. Everyone just said that you have to wait. Now 45 minutes have passed and everyone who came after me got their food and left. The one hour mark and now I'm pissed AF. I starting to complaining and all they said is you have to wait. The manager finally came over to see what was going on and when I explained the situation, she went and checked where my order was and said that they just started preparing it. She offered no sympathy, discount or refund. The attendant who served me gave me a free Conch Salad for my inconvenience. One and twenty minutes after I arrived I received my food. Prices are not too steep either but they lack real cooking skills when it comes to rice, mac n cheese and other cooked items. This seafood market has been a staple of the Opa-locka area for as long as I remember. I remember years ago when a few female-named hurricanes knocked out power and brought many local businesses and restaurants to a close, Northwest Seafood Outlet was open and serving up some delicious seafood to a lot of hungry and patient customers; and yes the food is very delicious here. I consider my self a true Connoisseur of Conch and this place serves up some of the best (if not THE best) Cracked Conch in town. I'm not a big fan of their Conch Fritters. The size of the fritters are very substantial for the price (4 for $2.99) but the chefs aren't very generous with their additions of Conch to the batter and I am not very fond of the flavor. The fish fingers, shrimp, sides are all worthy of 5 stars; I'd give the fritters 3-1/2 of them stars. I'd knock half a star down for the amount of time you'd have to wait for your food to become ready. Like other yelpers have mentioned it definitely helps to call and place your order in advance because you'll never know what kind of large hungry crowds you'll stumble upon when you arrive. Of course this is a Seafood Market so they also have non-cooked seafood at reasonable prices for you to take home and prepare yourself. You can even purchase "exotic" seafood items such as Alligator meat ($13.99 lb) and Frog Legs (5 lb box $24.99). Any non cooked seafood items you purchase can be cooked fresh for you for a small fee. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because of rare occasions of inconsistency. My family has been ordering from Northwest Seafood for years now and it's one of my go-to places for seafood whenever I'm in the area. The plates are always packed to capacity and everything is always flavorful. I usually only get tilapia, snapper, conch and/or fries when I go and it's always great. I'd suggest that you check your plate before you leave though. The employee will show you what's on the plate before you pay but make sure you check to see that your plate does not consist of a lot of crumbs or meatless pieces of fried batter disguised as conch or something else. This rarely happens, but its better to be safe than sorry (or hungry), especially when u're paying the price for fresh seafood! Please call in your order so that you don't have to wait around for 15 minutes and risk being hassled by the guys selling CDs and DVDs outside or end up leaving the market smelling like you've just finished a fishing trip - it's just not a sexy or pleasant! If you're ever in the area I would definitely recommend this place. It's no Red Lobster and parking might be a bit of a hassle, but, they sell fresh raw and cooked seafood for the soul, to-go. But the downsize is the owners daughter she's very unpleasant & unfriendly her tone is just rude when dealing with some of the customers.
