I have been a loyal customer for years but o went last nite with my wife and we ordered the same as always 2 king crab legs half a dozen oyster and a lobster because they ran out of crab claws an a bottle of Santa margarita wine We had a new waiter which was good But when we got the check they had charged us 150.00 dollars for the two king crab legs that we usually pay 60.00 for We should have been told prices had tripled very disappointing After 20 years going there we won't go again read more

Billy's Stone Crab is one of my favorite places to visit when in Hollywood Fl. The atmosphere is elegant with a view of the canal. BEST STONE CRAB IN SOUTH FLORIDA We live not far away and know all the great spots in Hollywood and this is at the top. Sammy our server brought out a "presentation" platter showing all of the fresh crabs, lobsters and shrimp. We chose the large stone crab which my wife could not finish, but did take too go. I had the whole yellowtail, in a beautiful butter sauce with shrimp which was truly Key West style. Dont turn down the fresh rolls and bread with their homemade keylime, butter and honey spread um..... The swinging chairs on the water make for a romantic dinner at sunset. We went before the crowds. Went for a birthday dinner with four children and three adults for my eleven year old's birthday while on vacation. Upon learning of the birthday, the maitre'd sprinkled confetti all over the table and was so welcoming to us. The wait staff is attentive and incredibly professional. The seafood is flat out some of the best we have ever had. From the seafood tower, to the grouper francaise, everyone was thrilled with their meals. The birthday boy had a complimentary key lime pie and our other kids loved their chocolate cakes. Very expensive but the quality justifies the cost. read more

We had lunch at Billy's Stone Crab and it was fabulous! From the delicious lobster bisque (my husband had the clam chowder) to the stone crabs, everything was great. We also had the hot appetizer sampler that included oysters Rockefeller, clams casino, crab stuffed mushrooms and it was hot and delicious. The stone crabs were fresh and delicious. We sat in the rocking cabana, the weather, waiter and food was excellent. The only thing is we miss the blue lights. The owner said it was to much to mess with changing the bulbs. If you don't understand....they feed the tarpon by lights under water and you can watch them swim!! However almost perfect. I had the key west yellow tail, the fish was tender, shrimp and lump crab yummy. Had mussels in garlic wine sauce, I would have enjoyed toast tips, there were 6+ that didn't open. Waiter took them back and it seemed they cracked them and replated them, which was disappointing due to all the shell pieces that you had to pick out of your mouth. Hubby had beautifully cooked scallops with Alfredo noodles.. were ok, lots but could have more sauce less pasta. We went on a busy night and left because we were never waited on admirer 40 minutes. I called to cancel reservations as we were planning to go twice. The manager was very apologetic after hearing what happened. We agreed to return. The food was very good and the waiter was attentive. I'm glad we gave it a 2nd shot. Billy's stone crabs "during the season" are usually excellent. Picked some up for an at home Mother's Day brunch in May. Delicious. Did the same for Father's Day--stringy and meat stuck to claws. These were out of season, so were probably from Chile or the like. THIS New Year's Eve day was not a good experience. We called the night before to see when they were opening, told 12 noon. When we arrived at 11:45, the line wound all through the parking lot. Took 1 1/2 hours in line. While we were in line people told us that they had been told the market would open at 10:00. Hmmm. Also interesting is that we saw some people walk in through the restaurant entrance and leave shortly afterward with their stone crab stash. Obvious favoritism. The manager and the workers were very friendly, but this system was a loser. They could have given numbers or something because some people were suffering in the sun. Most importantly, the stone crabs, now in the middle of the season and charging top dollar, were not up to par in our opinion.. Again, stringy and meat sticking to the claws. I noticed it right away but said nothing as we were the "guests". Eventually, everyone said something and we four were all in agreement. I guess we have gotten spoiled in the past to expect the best from Billy's. Disappointing. read more

We went here last night with a friend on a client and had the snow crabs the Alaskan king crabs some oysters on a half shell and some key lime pie for dessert the service was okay the food was great they did try to sneak in a couple of small claws but everything tasted great the maitre d' really kept things moving trying to see people and in the end we had a great time will definitely be back read more

Every time we go to this restaurant we totally enjoy it never have a problem the service was fantastic , the food from the conch chowder to the greasy fried shrimp to the snow crabs and the stone crabs were the beat we ever had. I was taken to Billy's Stone crab restaurant for my 56th year birthday. I was so excited to go, didn't know anything about the restaurant. Got there and had over an hour wait. When we were told it will be just 15 to 20 minutes . We ordered drinks and crab-cakes, that was pretty good. Finally we were seated after about an hour and 15 minutes, were given a nice presentation of crabs, lobster, steaks, oysters, clams and shrimp that we're not on the platter. Ordered a combination of meal colossal king crab and the extra large stone crab legs (8) and a side of shrimp scampi. Then we ordered another cold platter of lobsters shrimp oysters clams. The smaller plate, Coldplate, came first my meal took another 40 minutes to come we inquired we were told that they were still "working on it". When my crabs did come it was not like the presentation! The colossal king crab was broken up into several tiny pieces with two legs, also broken! The stone crabs looked OK. The shrimp scampi looked OK but my king crab was mutilated! When we express how I felt about the way my food looked compared to how it was presented; the waitress said that is the way they do it sometimes. They cut it up they break it up things like that. I was not happy about that. Also I know How my plate was supposed to look! Initially, there was only like about maybe a third of my colossal king crab on my plate. About 10 minutes later the waitress came back out with a plate of crab pieces some were cold, some were tepid warm. So my experience with the food was not the greatest as far as presentation because I am a seafood connoisseur. I was looking forward to inviting many of my friends back to this restaurant but now I have to consider if I would even like to do that based on the service I received on my Birthday. I was not at all impressed or pleased, especially spending almost $500 for our entire meal it was just two of us! read more
