Always depended on his great service to keep my scissors sharp. JoAnne's in Bellevue was the closest area of service for me since there are not many retail fabric stores open any longer. read more

Incredible sharpening value. Saw the flier for a drop-off sharpening event at my local garden store (City People's), and realized that my knives have been in quarantine longer than I have. The three chef's knives came back uniformly sharp. Also sent in some small garden clippers which have a better edge than they've ever seen Would highly recommend them - if one of their event locations is near you, it's a no brainer. read more

Great sharpening service. The owner sets up shop at different locations. Today, he was set up in the back of Pacific Fabrics near downtown Bellevue. Wasn't sure where to go without getting help from a store employee. Once I found him, I gave him two of my kitchen knives to sharpen. My knives were two different lengths of the IKEA 365+ Chef's knives. Had them for almost 3 years. They had definitely lost their edge. The owner helped restore them in about ~5 minutes. Afterwards, he helped demonstrate their sharpness by cutting s piece of paper. Seeing the special purpose sharpening instrument he brought and the very affordable price per knife, I think it was a no-brainer to bring my cutlery to Northwest Sharpening. It was a great service and it was a pleasure discussing with the owner about how to take care of kitchen equipment. One thing to note is that he offers the service in different locations every week, so it's probably a good idea to check on the location and time and call in advance and confirm he's available. It's probably why the rates are as amazing as they are, so I'm not complaining. I read more

I contacted Northwest Sharpening for a factory visit; to come to my location and sharpen the 15 or so scissors and nippers we use in our factory. The owner was extremely nice and helpful, and was easily able to schedule my preferred time. He arrived right on time, easily set up in a small space, and swiftly took care of all the scissors I gave him. All he asked for was some scraps of our regular fabrics to test the scissors. He ground the blades and adjusted the screws, explained to me any issues with my equipment, and was quickly finished. His prices are very reasonable, and he left a handwritten bill and said to mail a check - very old school and great! The scissors are extremely sharp and glide through fabric and paper. I definitely recommend them to any business. On the website it says they do knives and garden blades as well. read more

The sharpening service for knives, scissors, and small garden tools is excellent and prices are very reasonable. My items are always sharpened to perfection and so much easier to use. The owner even fixed a small nick near the tip of my knife blade at no extra cost. I tracked down this business to sharpen my collection of sewing scissors, utility scissors and knives. Knowing that they set up at different locations, I looked forward to their setup at JoAnn Fabrics at Crossroads. They said they opened at 2PM. I got there just after 2 and was shocked to find out they had orders waiting till 5:30PM for pick up!!! I returned at 5 and they were just starting my 14 pieces and said they had orders till 7:30PM. It was clear the husband and wife team kept working without a break to complete all their orders. I adored them and the prices were ROCK BOTTOM: $3/scissors or knife or pruner; $2 for smaller shears/scissors. JoAnn takes a small cut on top of that. He even tightened up my pinking shears and adjusted a cheap pair of utility scissors at no additional cost. I should have tipped them but wasn't thinking. I will the next time. They will be at the Woodinville Molbaks every 3rd Saturday of the month. I'll bring my pruners there. Go Find Them!! read more

Northwest Sharpening has been taking care of my dog clipper blades for years. Bob is helpful when contacted, and very professional. I have sent my blades to him through the mail, and receive them back bubble wrapped, and secure in a matter of days. I would recommend this company for any of your sharpening needs. read more

Called to ask them to come out to my location to sharpen around 6 to 10 pairs of scissors, called around 9 am and the guy I talked to said they would he be there sometime that day, didn't say when or give me a time. Rude on the phone and never ended up coming out anyways. Don't usually write reviews, but it interfered with MY job so I was not very happy. Looking for better place to go read more
