Had a lot of fun talking about knives and learning, you can get into trouble here they have some stunning pieces. They had a tasty selection of Chris Reeve folders & I walked away with a small inkosi. If you love to cook and want fantastic and unique knives for your kitchen, this is your place in Seattle. They sell absolutely gorgeous knives from excellent makers! You can take special knives in for repairs and sharpening too. Their staff are so knowledgeable and always answer our questions in detail. I wish they were still in Kirkland tho - this new location is a little sketchy! It's however worth the drive and okay once inside. Love their custom Henry on the exterior too. read more

Amazing store for your culinary, utility, tactical customs and production. Very knowledgeable staff.

This store has amazing stock and fantastic variety, but 1/3 of the staff are complete jerks. I won't go back in here nor support the business. On a recent visit, one of them was obviously angry at having someone in the store that he had to help and kept huffing and sighing loudly throughout the interaction. Its not fun to go in there and possibly have to interact with one of the jerky clerks. I don't get why they don't just get rid of those guys. read more

Husband bought me 4 knives from here. Love love love them. Don't recall the brand but they are mid range price wise. Bring them in once a year to get sharpened. Staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. Purchased sheaths and a carry case for them last time in. I travel so like to bring my knives with me. What a great store! Bright, clean, welcoming. The staff was outstanding, friendly and deeply knowledgeable about knives. My son was in the market for a higher end pocket knife, and we stumbled across this place by accident. It's a little hard to find down in the industrial area under the West Seattle Bridge, but oh man it's worth it. Prices were good, selection was great, and the service top notch. Need a knife? They have a wide variety to choose from and are happy to answer all of your questions to help you decide what you want/need. Dan always does a phenomenal job sharpening my knives for my job, and I will never go anywhere else! Stay clear of this place. My mother-in-law bought me a gift certificate to this place when they were in Kirkland. Looked like a cool store. In the meantime, they lost their lease and didn't have a physical store, so I couldn't use the gift certificate for several months. Fast forward 6 months, and they opened a physical store in a crappy industrial area in Seattle. I decided to pay them a visit and redeem my gift certificate. Against my better judgment, I let the clerk push me into a Japanese carbon knife that rusted the first time I used it. He kept pressing me to get that particular knife, so I'm not sure he liked it, or it was good margins. I returned a week later to return the knife, which looked new, and the girl at the counter informed me they don't accept returns. The return policy was never discussed when the clerk was selling me and was only listed at the bottom of the receipt you receive after you make a purchase. She informed me that it was my fault because I should have asked. Nice! After working with their manager for an exchange, for two weeks, this was their final response: "If you feel the need to leave us a dishonest negative review out of intentional malice because you regret purchasing, then that is your prerogative." I guess it's all my fault. I'll stick with Williams Sonoma next time. read more

They can help you with knife skills, recommendations and sharpening! Pretentious does not exude enough emotion to explain these people. First time in but it will be my last, the staff were rude and condescending. It is unfortunate because they have a diverse collection of cutlery but they let their ego get above them. I came in looking for a Gyuto as a gift for a friend who just bought a house but left empty handed after being talked down too as child. I have worked in the culinary industry for many years, cutlery is nothing new to me but they tried their hardest to make me feel as if it was. I had heard rumors in the industry of the dark side to the store but thought they were just exaggerating. Seems that the lore meets the reality. read more

We've been getting our knives sharpened at Epicurean Edge for close to a decade, and we've always been impressed by the quality of their work and service. Friendly, knowledgeable staff any time we've been in, and our knives always come back beautifully restored. Standard service for sharpening is one week, but trust me--the end results are COMPLETELY worth the wait. Just get your knives sharpened in rotations, so you still have some to use while you wait for the others to get fixed up. read more
