Day after install we noticed a large scratch on our quartz countertop, likely from NW Stone Fab maneuvering another slab into place in our tight kitchen. This was reported to Marcie. Marcie said we'd have to wait for some leftovers to become available to fix. Its been nearly a year now since reporting the issue and zero response back since Feb 2021 despite numerous emails. It even appears to be buffable according to my contractor. Very dissapointed that this issue is not yet resolved. read more

I can't say enough good things about Randy! So personable & talented. From the minute I met him he was like a long lost friend. I stopped In here to just ask about countertops. I knew immediately I'd hire Nw stone to do my kitchen. My contractor wanted me to go elsewhere but that wasn't going to happen. My remodel wasn't was smooth as I expected except for the counter and tile work went incredibly well thanks to Randy's communication throughout the process. The stars they do receive are for the actual work done. The finished product looked great and the guys doing the work in the shop know their stuff. Installers polite and professional. As far as the sales and administrative, it was a 0 star performance- to the point where we had to contest some of the cost with our credit card company. We prevailed. We had planned on install several days before we left for vacation and I stayed home for work on days where measurements were taken so my wife wasn't alone with kids when unknown people were in and out. On measurement day- no show, no call. This was the day I had off. I called and they came another day. On install day, no show, no call again! When they did come, they didn't have all of the parts which we were charged for, but never actually had installed (hence the bill contest). In dealing with the scheduling and refund issues, they were non-responsive and unhelpful to say the least. read more

We had our kitchen and bathroom remodeled in 2012 and used Northwest Stone Fabricators for our soapstone counter tops. They were great to work with and very careful to show us how easily soapstone scratches. We knew that going in, but really appreciated them pointing that out. We love the soapstone as it does not need sealing, nor does it stain. No chemicals needed! We do oil it as my posted pictures show, and wherever we keep soap dispensers the oil is removed and it goes back to gray, but that's not an issue for us. We had our contractor cut and install our extra soapstone as shelves and a bench in our bathroom, and as a laundry table in the basement (the nicest laundry table he has ever made), and even shelves in a potting shed. It's heavy but easy to cut. read more

I stopped by this place when I was looking for a granite fabricator for my master bath remodel. Initially, my interaction with them was good; I felt a connection. It went down hill after that. While I chose another fabricator, I did use them to purchase a new vanity from a cabinet company in Monroe. I paid for and received the vanity in plenty of time to have it installed. As the project neared completion, my contractor was able to determine precisely the size of the three spacers he would need between the three cabinet sections. I could not deal with the cabinet company directly, so on 4/2/12, I drove to NW Stone to order the spacers for the cabinet I had purchased. It would probably take 5-7 days, they said. On 4/19/12, after hearing nothing, I emailed NW Stone. They were apologetic that it was taking so long and said I would have them at my house on 5/7/12. On 5/8/12 I received 3 spacers that were all the wrong length and width. I called and left a voicemail, then followed up with an email. On 5/10/12, I received an email in reply, apologizing again and saying the spacers were being reordered. They would let me know when there was a new delivery date. I never heard from them about a delivery date, but on 5/22/12, I received another package of 3 spacers. This time the width was correct on all 3, but all were still too short! I emailed NW Stone and received a reply the same day: another apology, another reorder. On 6/25/12, I email NW Stone that I had still not received the new spacers. I talked to someone I thought was the boss, and he said he would take care of it. On 7/17/12, the spacers were delivered. They were all too long, but the widths were correct. At least my contractor could work with that. Still, the remodel was drug out an extra 3 months or more because of this simple spacer issue. NW Stone was very apologetic, but way short on customer service and communication. To make it up to me, they offered to take the remaining amount of the granite slab I had purchased but not used, and sell it for me. Great offer! I felt much better about them. They even offered to go pick it up for me! Well, several weeks went by and I contacted them again to see if I could help coordinate the pick up of the slab. At that point, they reneged on their promise to sell the granite, saying they had just too many slab remnants in their yard. I was floored. No one should have to experience anything like this. It was horrible. So I spent the time to gather the facts and write this review. I even waited all these months to see if my feelings would change, but they didn't. I've struggled with granite fabircators for years. The nice thing about working with this company is their talent in fabrication and installation. As long as you have an established rapport, the back office performs just fine. I hesitate on full marks because there is always room for improvement, but the quality of installation prevents call backs. read more

Finding granite and tile for the kitchen was a long process. We went to Northwest Stone first and then went everywhere else to compare and educate ourselves. We decided to use NW Stone Fabricators both because they had the granite we wanted and we had talked with Marcie and Randy and they were very knowledgeable about the hole process. We had no doubts they knew their business and that they would be able to guide us. Liz has a great eye for matching the trim, tile and counter tops and made that part of the process much easier than I expected it to be. She was very patient with me when I needed to haul the tile samples out to the field to hold up against the granite slabs on a couple of occasions. The scheduling, measuring, cutting and installing all went smoothly. I like the way everything was coordinated - the ordering of sinks, stovetop (our job), installation and followup to make sure everything was good. Everything looks great, but I'm happiest with the way the tile backsplash turned out. The installer did an incredible job. I look at the tile every time I'm at the sink and just think how great a job he did. I highly recommend Northwest Stone Fabricators. Between our first visit and our final visit, Marcie and Randy installed an all new showroom that is pretty incredible. The perfection of the work in the showrooms convinced me that I had made the right choice. Be sure to walk across to their showrooms when you visit. read more

This is my first time using Northwest Stone Fabricators for installing my kitchen counter top. After reading some of the reviews, I was a little apprehensive but I decided to go ahead with them. I am glad that I did as I had a great experience. Lesya was helpful in giving me the quote and explaining to me the whole process. Their pricing were reasonable compare to a lot of other stone fabricators. Once I picked my stone from Pental, they were able to give me a time to schedule for template. In most of my past experience with contractors and installers, they were always late and non-communicative. However, Northwest Stone Fabricators are so different. It is like a breath of fresh air. They called before hand and were on time to do the job. Both the template person and the installers were on time and they did a wonderful job. Our contractor likes to use this business. I did get another quote as well, but they came in higher so we stayed with NW Stone. They did a great job every step of the way. They have a good selection of their own slabs, but they will also get a slab from elsewhere if you prefer and fabricate and install it for you. (that will probably cost more, however). We were able to OK how our template was laid out on the slabs, and they way Liz suggested was the best way. Of all the professionals and subs (and our contractor) we used on our job, they were by far the best- they were knowledgable, helpful, and made no mistakes whatsoever. I hired Northwest Stone Fabricators to provide the kitchen, island, entertainment and bar cabinets along with granite counter tops for the above. The owner Randy Oliver was easy to get along with and the measuring, installing people were great and knew what they were doing. I had a large home remodeling job and they came though for me. They had the granite colors that I was looking for along with the type and style and cabinets. Everything came very close to when they said that it would. I felt that they were reasonable in price, they came through with what I ordered and it looks good. I would use them again and I have referred people to them. When I initially wrote a review for this company on September 10, 2015 I gave them a five-star rating. I still maintain the work was done well, and we still like our countertops and have not experienced any problems with that portion of the job. However, I do have a big complaint concerning an issue we have experienced with this company. When our slabs were still at their location prior to being templated, a designer saw them and inquired of them if she could have our leftover remnants for a job she wanted to have done for herself. Lesya told us if we were agreeable to allowing the designer to have our remnants, we would be reimbursed for the portion the designer elected to use. In exchange for this agreement we would be forfeiting our right to use the balance of the stone within a 30-day timeframe. We agreed, and as it turned out, the designer wanted all our remnants, and the amount of money that was supposed to be returned to us was $3150.00--not exactly lunch money. I inquired on the matter via email several times. In mid-November 2015 I received an email stating the check was going out in two days--but it didn't. I kept making inquiries without success. On February 28, 2016 I sent them an email stating that if I did not have my funds by the end of March 2016 I would file a complaint with the BBB. I pointed out that we had been required to pay for the materials up-front, and if the designer had not yet paid for her job, they should collect payment from her for the stone remnants so we could get our funds returned to us--it wasn't as though the designer didn't know she had to get our approval before she could obtain our remnants. The following day I received an email stating the check would go out in two weeks, and I would also get an email informing me the check was going out; I received no email or check. I filed a complaint with the BBB the night of March 31, 2016. I was informed by a person at the BBB that the company had 17 days to respond to the complaint, and apparently there was no response (just like the other two complaints listed on the BBB's website for this company). You'd think with a present rating of "C-" the company would not want to risk a rating any lower than that, but that appears to be the case. It has now been seven months since our job was completed, and it looks as though Small Claims Court will likely need to be our next step. It is a sad day, indeed, when a customer who spent more than $24,000 with them gets treated in this fashion. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Took half a day off to pick up countertop on day it was suppose to be ready--it wasn't. Said they would deliver it the next day between 10-2. Took half day off again. Husband called at 2 to check in. They finally called back at 4 pm and left a message for me (wife) ? that they simply hadn't made it to the west side of Seattle yet. Finally delieverd on third day, with no apology or discount. When inquired about discount due to three day delay, got a very snotty reply that "they don't do that sort of thing." I went into the NW looking for a kitchen remodel. The staff that I dealt with had NO follow up. I would walk into the showroom and then they would jump to life. Follow up is key. I wasn't sold on any of their countertop options (their selection isn't great) so I found counters elsewhere. When I let them know that I no longer needed counters but still needed a sink and backsplash, they stop responding. I finally went into the showroom again a month later and they told me they don't do such small jobs. I understand that this is a small job for them, but I think a business could notify you of that. read more

He waited for two hours for which I was charged and they did not feel they should pay the contractor. I confirmed three times! I had an wonderful experience with Northwest Stone. I had a stained stone coffee table top I wanted to replace with granite. Even on this small job, they were willing to take the time to walk me through the decisions, and help me pick a nice remnant piece to cut. They even matched the angled edge of the old stone top. Countertops were installed with no damage despite the need to take out old surfaces. And the site was probably cleaner than when they arrived. This is an update to my one star review last July pertaining to the whole countertop order-install process. My update is based on the response of the fabrication manager (Jonathan) to a few post-installation issues. First, I will say that I am extremely happy with the counter--a great Silestone quartz product with just the right mid-century to modern feel for my mid-century home. And the fabrication/installation work, done under Jonathan's supervision, is first rate. Since the installation, I have contacted the company twice, once regarding a dimensions issue (fit for my new stove--it turned out NOT to be a counter-related problem) and more recently when I banged a five-eights inch chunk out of the front edge and top with an olive oil bottle that did not quite clear the edge. groan On both occasions Jonathan (not the owners) responded promptly and professionally. Jonathan made a trip out to address both issues and was able to do the repair on the same visit as the eval trip. I can hardly see the repair and it is in a very front-and-center location. So I am upping the stars to 3 for the company HOWEVER Jonathan gets a 4.5 overall and a 10 for the repair job, responsiveness, and professionalism. Try to deal mostly with him and don't sign over your money until everything is really clear and you've read the contract and specs over with your magnifying glass. read more

Hey, I reviewed this company a couple of weeks ago. At the time I was quite pleased, but have since experienced some problems. After the guys left I discovered some problems with the quality of the material we purchased, called Marlique and made by Silestone. I was surprised. We have Silestone counters and I'm quite happy with them. Also, some debris left over from cutting theMarlique was left in the driveway and there was uncured epoxy on one of the vanity tops and on the wooden subfloor of the bathroom. And a couple of the joins were really bad. I was told they'd send someone out to fix the problems. They did, almost a week later, but they didn't finish the repairs, and the debris is still in the driveway. That was last Thursday. Someone was supposed to be here today (following Tuesday, 5 days later) but didn't show. I've been promised they'll be here Thursday - two weeks after 'finishing' the job to make everything right. I'm not holding my breath. I am pretty patient. And I felt for the company as I'm certain they made no money on this job after all the call backs etc. But today, my sympathy is long gone. I am unhappy. I am disappointed. I am angry. I am adjusting my assessment of the company from 5 stars to 2 stars. I'm pretty certain they will make it right in the end. But two weeks was too long for me to wait. Everything else is waiting on this to be finished. I really had hoped I'd be able to take a bath in my new tub by Thanksgiving weekend - but it doesn't look like will be a possiblity. read more
