Contracted to upgrade our 33-year-old very large deck that was built in 1992. LYD rates 5 because everything agreed to in the beginning was fulfilled and beyond. Arie Skatkov and his team did an awesome job. They were able to build a privacy screen for our deck beyond what they had plan to do. It came out very nice. The deck is absolutely beautiful and built to last for the next 25 years. The deck is multi-tier railing systems constructed. Hired LYD Construction to remove a wall in my tiny garage, so I can park a full length car in. Working with the team was very smooth. They worked out all the engineering and permit sign offs so that the city has proper records of the structural change. Contracted to remove a large deck that was at end of life and replace it with a new long-lasting composite deck. 5 stars because everything agreed to in the beginning was fulfilled by the company. They went above and beyond what was agreed to in writing and added lattice fencing around the base of the completed deck. Deck is sturdy and absolutely beautiful. We purchased a 1962 mid-century house with lots of custom woodwork, baseboards, wainscotting, etc.  It hadn't been remodeled in quite a long time, and really needed some attention and love.  We decided on the home originally because we wanted it updated while preserving the fantastic historical elements.  After quoting out with several different contractors, we went with LYD not primarily because of cost, but because of the relationship.  LYD was willing to work with us and let me do some of the work in certain places, and add on additional scope where needed.  Their team was absolutely excellent - some of the tile work I requested was unusual in that I wanted to use scavenged tile from countertops to extend the tile on the floor, and you absolutely cannot even tell the old from the new tile.  They fixed and touched up the poor paint job that the sellers had done, worked with us from the beginning to execute our vision, and made many recommendations to improve on what we had in mind.  Towards the end of the project, a friend asked us, "There's always a horror story associated with every remodel - what's yours?"  We couldn't answer because we couldn't think of a single thing that went wrong.  We're thrilled with our newly remodeled home and look forward to enjoying it for many years to come. read more

We hired Lior and his team to do some work on an old 1970s home we bought. We had a tight timeline because we had to move out of our old place. We had a bathroom gutted and renovated, a laundry nook added, and all new flooring throughout installed. They stayed on schedule AND created a high quality result while staying almost completely within the initial estimate. Lior works with some very skilled specialists. Lior himself, had really good ideas about how to bring a feeling of light and openness into our small dark bathroom. It really worked wonders for the space. Philip, the project manager was really good about coordinating all the moving pieces and making note of our specific concerns and making sure they were addressed. The tile crew did the best work I have ever seen. We have wood beams throughout even in the bathrooms and they did an expert job tiling around the one above the shower, making it water tight. The glass shower door was cut so perfectly it accommodated a small lip on the pony wall (no unsightly gaps). Overall, a very skilled team. I would recommend LYD for your projects! read more

We had a really great experience having Lior redo our shower in our master bathroom. The two best things about Lior were 1) he took the time to notice how he could improve our space in ways that other contractors had not, and 2) he was super communicative and efficient with getting the work done. Longer background: Our house was built in the 50s and we previously had a very small shower stall. When our shower faucet started leaking last year, we decided to get the shower retiled and wondered about expanding the size of the shower into an adjacent closet. We found several possible contractors through Angie's list and three different people had come by and given estimates. When Lior came to our house, he was the first contractor to notice that there was a square of empty space between one of our shower walls and the wall of the adjacent room. This meant we could expand the shower by moving into the empty space rather than losing some of the closet behind the other shower wall. He then climbed up into our crawl space attic at 7pm at night with a head lamp to confirm that the space was actually empty, as he said he didn't want to suggest a plan he couldn't execute. He provided an estimate that was roughly in line with other contractors but we chose Lior's company because he had noticed - and taken time to confirm - a way to improve our bathroom that no one else had. During the project, Lior communicated very effectively and was very clear about when each stage of the project would be completed. He scheduled the project to start right away. He met us at Home Depot to help us select tile. We were in constant communication over text. We made a change to our title design halfway through the project and Lior moved the schedule back to give us time to pick a tile we wanted, even though that meant rescheduling people he had already lined up. All the workers that came to our house were respectful and efficient. The tile installer, Alex, was attentive to detail and the final product looked amazing. My mother in law who fixes up houses with my sister in law--and has had a lot of bathrooms tiled recently--commented that our shower tiling was particularly well done. Lior also connected us to a company that can make a custom glass door for the shower, which we plan to do eventually. For the time being it's easier to shower our kids with a curtain, but the glass will eventually look much nicer. More recently, we started to notice a weird crack and some discoloring in the grout on the shower floor and contacted Lior. He sent Alex over right away. Alex said he wasn't sure what happened and actually hadn't seen this happen before - so I think whatever problem we were having is rare - and he redid the grout in the problem spot. I trust that if we have any other issues, Lior will make sure they are taken care of. We highly recommend Lior's company. Mike came and checked project and gave a quote on site. Was pushy to get us to sign. We signed the next day but after he brought the engineer project manager. Mike called me and said the project will cost 4-5 times what he originally quoted. He kept explaining it's my fault but I did nothing just show him the job so I am unsure why it was my fault he misunderstood the job. Overall just be careful the first quote is not by licensed person who knows what they are doing. We had no fancy requirements and needed to replace our old tiles and wooden trims with new ones due to wear and tear over the years.
