I have taken all of my animals here for several years and never post negative reviews...but my…read morerecent experience was unacceptable. When I brought my kitten in, he had low energy, breathing at 60 breaths per minute, had lost a full pound in a week, had a 105° fever, and was visibly unwell. His bloodwork showed multiple critical abnormalities--significant anemia, extremely low platelets, abnormal white blood cell values, and indicators of systemic illness. Despite all of this, I was told that there wasn't much cause for concern. I was also told that it was "normal" for a kitten to have a high heart rate and to show "mild signs of anemia." These explanations were reassuring at the time, but ultimately misleading given the severity of his condition. I spent over $400 and my kitten was sent home with antibiotics, had a few shots, and was given a small amount of under the skin fluid despite the bloodwork and symptoms that reflected this was life threatening. Only a few hours later, he deteriorated further, and I had to take him to the emergency vet. The ER veterinarian reviewed the same bloodwork and immediately recognized how serious the situation was. I was told that he was in critical condition, severely dehydrated, and has roughly a 50/50 chance of survival. The ER vet was not hopeful and made it very clear that this was a life-threatening emergency just by reviewing the paperwork from my visit at Reelfoot. The difference between their assessment and the emergency vet's assessment is deeply concerning. The warning signs were present during my appointment, both clinically and in the lab results, but were downplayed. This is extremely distressing and I feel let down. My kitten is now spending the night at the emergency vet, who is doing everything he can to keep him alive. UPDATE: After the vet retracted 20cc of fluid from his lungs, administered antivirals and antibiotics, and provided around-the-clock care for 12 hours, he still didn't make it. Every second was critical, but by the time he finally received the level of care he needed (8 hours after my appointment at Reelfoot), it was too late.

I've used them for many years and many pets but finally done that have slowly gotten to point of no…read morereturn with me. Started when they allow my ex wife to charge her pet bill to me and started calling harassing me for money ignorantly like I had done them wrong and was a lowlife. Mind you ex of over a year and I had been there several times between divorce and this charge and had updated all info. So I paid it anyways fast forward a year or so call made apt. For shot and check up they say $160 and stick me for $318 when we done plus say make another apt in 3 weeks for booster shots of $56 so I go back because I care about my dog and lone behold the vet that saw us says no booster needed and not sure why they told me that but yet stick me with Bill of $164 what the!!!!! And they treat you like a criminal that would run on bill and demand full payment now. Really I pay ex bill of 1200 that's not even mine to save face and then they still stick it to me not once but twice after especially being I never even got booster shots for 164 bill that was quoted 56 with booster I'm done never go get ripped off there
