I was able to get a same day appointment with the pediatrician, Dr. Wagoner. I wish I had gotten…read moreeveryone's name who helped us because everything was so well done. From the person who took my call and got us scheduled for an hour later and who talked up Dr. Wagoner, who had an opening since his PCP was not available, to the front desk checking us in and the MA who was so efficient and pleasant, and then Dr. Wagoner herself. I can't begin to thank her and her team there for quickly recognizing how sick my son was and for orchestrating an amazing and fast outpatient workup and even getting him directly admitted so we could avoid having to sit in a busy ED for hours. She and the team organized getting him into a CT immediately and even coordinated with the Lab so that he only had to get poked once for an IV and they drew the necessary labs at the same time! Dr. Wagoner called us after the CT to say she was reviewing it with a radiologist and would coordinate any next steps that may be needed and call me back. She was ALL OVER IT! And kept us updated and reassured. As a worried mom, watching my kiddo get this sick for the first time ever, I am so grateful for her help and for the reassurance and efficiency. My son was hospitalized at Providence St. Vincent's Pediatric floor for 3 days and though it is not something I ever want him (or us) to go through again, he is out of the hospital now and nearly back to normal. I know it can't always work out this well, but it felt like everything was a well oiled machine and this Dr. and clinic team took care of our son and family so well. I highly highly recommend them. Thank you all and Bless you!

Editing the review. I initially compared trying to contact your doctor for something immediately…read moreserious to going to the DMV. This was not a good comparison because when you go to the DMV or call or contact them, they DMV will help you. But if you are having a serious problem and need help from 'your care team' at Providence you would be better off going to the DMV for help. They actually treat you, an actual patient of the clinic, like a cold-calling salesperson trying to sell them something they do not want or need. They have no time to deal with your medical problems. Providence used to have the best care. Something happened. ..... Finally day of doctor appointment with physician's assistant came - almost 2 weeks after serious and debilitating health issue. PA arrived 40 minutes after appointment time. The PA said what the person told me on the phone was wrong and started arguing with me and upset I sought alternative health care. PA said when you call in you call in to a call center somewhere in the country. That is new. PA was also flustered and wasn't listening to what I was saying. She said she was running late and didn't have anymore time for me (she was in the office for 15 minutes maybe). I did get a referral and some imaging, but she didn't address the entirety of what my problem was. Hoping the referral will help me. I would advise people to go somewhere besides a Providence clinic for health care, unless you are in perfect health and expect to be forever. They can deal with that.

After going to Oregon Natural Medicine for past breast thermography…read morework, where on the last appointment they never bothered telling me in advance that I should not have had it done while undergoing IVF (because the hormones will often give false readings), I got to know Candace whose pure focus is on thermography and, unlike ONM, Candace will actually talk to you about your results (ONM won't talk to you about your results unless you are a patient of their ND or pay extra!). She will share what she knows but also defer to the MD experts for the interpretation of the results. Along with her knowledge, sincerity and kindness, I also appreciated that she has a truly holistic view on healthcare, and isn't weird about people going to MDs as part of their healthcare either, so I trust her much more than the other places that discount the benefits of actual MDs. With breast thermography being a great way to non-intrusively scan the body for potential issues (finding breast cancer up to 10 years before a mammogram, by the way) without any radiation going into the body. Whether you use it solely or in conjunction with other preventative measures, thermography is a great way to keep an eye on what's going on in your body (while we were there she took an extra shot of my lower back as I have been in recovery from a herniated disc, and it was great to see where the pain was localized). Anyhow, highly recommend Candace for thermography - she's a great resource and a good human being to boot.

Great start. The next day the provider gave me my results and told me to increase my thryoid medicine because it was abnormal. Being in the healthcare field that didn't sound right. So I called. I emailed. I called again. It wasn't for another 2 days where I got a call saying "Oh, she looked at a result from 4 years ago, so stay on your current dose." I immediately started looking for another provider because that is unacceptable and the fact that Thyroid plays an important role in fetal development....Oh ya. They also put my dose of thyroid in wrong too that I was taking. Strike 3 is worse. Never heard about my ultrasound, though when I called that 2nd time about my labs, I asked about my ultrasound she said "Oh it says your 6weeks 4 days" great. Following week I miscarried. Devestated. Shocked I was. I finally got my US results in my patient mychart with no comments or anything. Just the report and the radiologist impression that said "Gestational sac is small which can lead to poor outcome. Should be closely monitored. " WOW ANGRY. I should have been called. Though it likely was going to happen anyway, I should have been notified so as a first time mom I wasn't freaking out about all the bleeding I experienced. I called the superviser and all she said was "Im sorry. Though I think I should talk to my superior and they can help you" Her superior was the "head midwife" who in turn only said "Im sorry this happened." Not much follow through and this is not good care.
