For the love of everything please turn the AC on in this mall. It is so beyond hot i have sweat dripping down my legs as i type. This mall simply reminds me of a place where they'd put all the stores that nobody would like to shop at. Tanger outlet has better stores than this mall. Probably the most active indoor mall in South Carolina. It's clean (well... except for the public bathroom in the Food Court), relaxing, and a fun hang-out spot. Highly recommend, more so than Tanger. I like to sit and rewind in the Food Court area and then do some window shopping. You will notice police cars in front of the Food Court, probably because the kids can be rowdy. But so far, no one had bothered me. read more

Not one to disparage a business nor series of businesses by look nor shape, Northwoods Mall offers little in the way of aesthetic pleasures. Once inside, the sky lighting offered a whole new take for me, one of a clean and modern shopping facility that has multiple areas for young children to enjoy rides, treats and sweets. Most all of the shops inside offer fashionable middle of the line goods that would have wide appeal. Each shelved book and each hung garment are impeccably displayed with plenty of staff anxiously awaiting the inflows of customers. Clean comfortable benches, spotless restrooms and spacious walking areas all impressed me as I found nothing to point the dirty end of the stick at. read more

Better than it use to be. Clean, friendly, well stocked and filling all safety protocols. Right now during the current social distancing the lack of crowds during the week is a real bonus. Lots of sales. The Dillard's, H&M, Rue 21, American Eagle, and like were both well stocked and running a lot of specials. The food court was being cleaned constantly and tables were about 8 ft apart. Books a million had lots of specials- on drinks and books. Good back to school options out of the late summer heat. Everyone wearing a mask. Chick Fil A open. Charleston is lacking all-around in malls, but I like the Northwoods Mall. It's not fancy, but my personal favorite stores are Dillards, Belk, Palmetto Moon, Hollister, American Eagle Outfitters, and Books-A-Million. The mall is entirely indoors, which is good on cold days, hot and humid days, or when you don't want to hear planes flying overhead ;). I'm always able to find a place to park at Northwoods Mall, and while the food court is a bit lacking, there are some nice dining options just outside the mall. There's also a Chic-Fil-A located away from the food court, where it's a little quieter and with seating. I always grab a Gloria Jean's coffee when I'm here as well, since I like it more than other coffee chains and it's the only Gloria Jean's in the area. If you're visiting Charleston, this mall is far from a shopping destination or tourist attraction, and you'll find larger malls with nicer stores in other cities. However, if you're local and need something, you can find it at this mall and get in and out fairly quickly. read more

You can spend the entire day at the mall. I know, it's kind of 1980's but it's still true today. So many stores and food options. And bonus, you can get all your steps in! From your head to your toes you can find it here. There's even a play area for kids at the food court. And the movies is just across the street! Win-win. read more

Northwoods Mall offers the typical stores, Bath & Body Works, Express, Belk, Dillard's, Charlotte Russe, etc. The mall itself is a little dated. But they have redesigned a few of the stores including Finish Line and Bath and Body Works. H&M will be opening soon. The food court is average size. I try to avoid the restrooms because they tend to be smelly and dirty. I wish Charleston offered better malls with more options. read more

The mall isn't completely on one level - there are a couple of spots with two or three stairs or a small ramp. Good selection of stores - Belk, Dillard's, Sears and JC Penney. Just a poor, dying mall- unfortunately. It's always empty, dirty and just sad. The stores are constantly changing out. They have the few that are open always due to popularity (VS, American Eagle, Department Stores, etc) but all of the stores in between are always changing. They can't stay open. There are pushy vendors and rude mall staff (the actual mall staff- customer service, custodians, security). It is an unpleasant experience. I try to avoid it unless I absolutely need to go there. read more

I was at the mall today for the first time in a very long time. It was like going to a funeral home. Very few customers roaming. The first thing I noticed walking in the front door was a sign specifying no concealed carry by law abiding citizens. As though criminals would pay any attention to that. This makes the mall a very dangerous place to visit. Knowing that only criminals will be carrying handguns and no law abiding citizens to help protect against them. I had to come by and drop my rating. I give two stars for the stores; no stars for the food court. There's a video circulating about roaches in the pizza shop...very gross DO NOT EAT HERE!! It grosses me out knowing I've eaten here before. Most of the places have "No refunds" posted and it makes sense. Find a roach in your food: you're not getting your money back. They need to sort out their pest issues ASAP! If one place has it they ALL have it. read more

Northwoods Mall is not only the closest Charleston mall to me, it also houses my gym so I'm up there often. Yes I'm a girl who doesn't love clothes shopping! So when I do need new shorts and tops in the summer or pants and long sleeve tops in the winter, I mainly stick with Belk and JC Penny's. I like to walk in, see something on the rack I like, grab my size, try it on, and GO! The Dillards is great for shoes and the Palmetto Moon is always a must for 2 for $20 T-shirts every year. I use the Hallmark here a ton so it's great that it's right next to the gym. Recently they moved the Victoria Secret's over towards the Sears wing and are putting an athletic store where VS used to be. That's the first really big remodels I've seen in a while. Which is great for me b/c I know the mall and can speed walk to and from all the stores I need to get in and out of. read more

It's an ok mall, but just ok. Sadly there isn't a better mall anywhere close by for us "locals". It does have some big dept stores like Belk and JC Penny, but for the most part this is one of those malls in which you don't really spent the day shopping. It is a "go in and get what you want and go right back out" sort of mall. I want to love Northwoods Mall, I desperately do, because the only other mall in the Charleston area-Citadal Mall- is even worse than this place. I guess it is more lucrative for businesses to support the tourist trade than to keep up the shopping facilities for the full-time residents. On a side note...even though the mall itself is totally GHETTO, if you have a little kid and it's December, the Santa here is the best I've ever seen! Northwoods Mall isn't all that bad. I mean it is missing some of the nicer stores and it's pretty much dead ever time I go there. But they do offer a lot of options as far as stores and shop. For example get a workout in at Planet Fitness, visit Airbrush Art for am airbrushed shirt or vanity plate, grab a bit in the food court at one of the many fine restaurants like DQ or American Deli, maybe get some new duds at American Eagle or Express, get that annoying coworker a gag gift at Spencer's, or get those laps in with the morning speed walkers. Was just in Northwoods Mall they have signs on there door that say you must have on a mask, mind you I counted 4 different Khios workers with no masks on. I also counted 10 people walking around with no mask on! When I called to complain the lady transferred me to secretary. I was then told by security that the Mall CAN'T enforce wearing a mask! Your a business yes you can! I called and reported this to the chef of police they told me that business that Are NOT following mask wearing would be cited to fine! I tried to report it and basically was laughed at by your security! I will be coming in every single day and checking and I'll be reporting it to the police! This is your typical mall - department stores, clothing stores, annoying kiosk owners who almost tackle you to straighten your hair, and remote controlled helicopter fliers. I like that the restrooms have always been super clean and the mall itself seems to be a clean establishment. Some of the stores look a little dated, and there are a few I have never heard of. I tend to stick to Victoria's Secret, Palmetto Moon, and Bath and Body when I'm here, so I don't really pay much attention to the others. I've never had an issue parking, and I've never eaten here other than a pretzel, so I have no idea what the food situation looks like. I think there is a large restaurant right inside the mall, but you might be able to enter from the exterior also. I haven't been over to the Citadel Mall to compare, but I hear Northwoods has more to offer. read more

I kinda like the 80's/90's vibe this mall has....and I despise malls so it makes it tolerable. But I'm really writing this review to give people an update....H&M is moving in! Northwoods Mall is my favorite mall in the Charleston area. I still enjoy being able to walk and shop in an actual mall and the experience cannot be recreated online. Northwoods has a great group of stores from the department store anchors, to the other shops, to the food court, to the kiosks. This place has really gone downhill over the years. It seems like every time I visit, there's less and less reason to come back. The anchor stores aren't as good as ones in bigger markets, and now I heard that a Burlington is replacing the Sears. Get outta here! This is ridiculous...they either need to close it and revamp and try to entice better stores or it will end up becoming the Northwoods flea market. It irritates me just going to this mall really any mall in the area because they suck. The JC Penny and the dillards are the only stores worth visiting, but who goes to a mall just for two stores. When you walk through, there are so many vacant retail spaces. North Charleston needs something better. read more

Today November 20,2022 I went back to Penny's for a jacket I saw. I found the jacket and noticed the sign said $17.99 well it was big and bold! When I got to the register it rang up 39.99. Both sides of the signs read $39.99. I work retail so of course I took the cashier over to the rack. Well the signs were very misleading. I did not pay attention to the other details however, I was not the only customer with this issue. Signs needs to reflect the exact price and not other hidden prices on the side. Please reevaluate your signage and let it reflect what's exactly on the racks and not hidden prices. read more

On my way back to Atlanta from Charleston, I stopped at Northwoods Mall for old times sake! Had not been here since I was a teen in the late 90s. One of the biggest challenge of this mall is the traffic and inconsistent patterns of parking. This is a high volume living area in North Charleston which translates to high car traffic in the mall driving and parking area. The lots are not consistent all the way around and some parks of the mall have limited parking. This is one of the biggest warnings we can provide to consumers coming in. The mall itself offers everything in retail you would expect. Plus it has King Street Grille which is a hot spot for sports bar watching. The open areas are spacious, but you may get harassed by kiosk workers. Just warning you. The mall has one of the biggest options for major department stores. You can meet all your clothing needs in one visit and get some exercise along the way. read more

This mall is such a disappointment!! However, I have no other choice but to patronize it due to they are the closest mall in the area. Trust and believe my visits are limited!! The smoking areas should be non-existing as if you are a smoke-free environment why do my children and I have to hold our breaths walking through a fog entering and exiting!! Not to mention last visit we had a known intoxicated individual who got up and relieved himself in the corner while we were entering!!! Disgusting!!! Where was security, inside in some female face.. Not to mention this all happened near the entrance by the Mall Business Office!! After running to avoid my children and I seeing any unpleasantries, entered in JCPenny and almost passed out from the heatwave!! Yes, their air was broken.. Dillard's and Belk while no insufficiency with ac but the floors are hideous!! What is with this area?? Especially in the clothing area and dressing rooms. Rip up the filthy carpet and replace it or do hard flooring throughout the entire facility.. Overall a deep cleaning and pressure wash entrances and exit areas. It wouldn't hurt!! I know it's been a long time since I shopped in the mall, yesterday I went and now I remember why I stopped going there. The stores were a mess, the floors were filthy and the bathrooms smelled. I know the mall needs to cater to the people that shop there but come on. I used to love coming to this mall when I was a kid. Now I try to avoid coming here. The shopping options really aren't bad. There are a lot of stores at Northwoods Mall. The stores I've been in are clean and the employees are very helpful. Coming from retail experience, I can tell that the employees are trying hard to greet and notice every customer because this area is known for shoplifting. The atmosphere outside is sketchy at times. Night time is probably the worst. It's questionable at best regarding safety. There is trash everywhere in the parking lot. The public bathrooms are so gross and smell like urine. The sinks have little to no pressure. Am I even washing my hands? I don't know! The food court is fairly nice. There were a few ladies constantly cleaning the empty tables and taking out the trash. The noise level is what you'd expect for a mall that has a play area in the food court. If I go to the mall, it's because I know there is something I want to get at a specific store.
