More often than not, I'll opt out of signing up for a stores discount card assuming they are outside if my typical store rotation -- spoken by the newest, card carrying member of Ollies Army. Planning a down and out right side, two middle passes and a deep route, left end zone and double back would give me the jist. Without question, the largest selection on bedding save the big department stores and their tremendous selections. Caught off guard by the kitchen appliances (stoves & refrigerators) all looking to be in new condition -- but I was on the move. Seasonal and holiday product is concentrated towards the front and up the middle in an upside down 'T' shape. So after checking out the tremendous selection of toys (glad to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are still popular -- the 4 foot Donatello was tempting me) I grabbed some cleaning products and personal hygiene stuff -- can you ever realky have enough old school Listerine? Yes, you can and boy o boy do I ever. Pilot and Zebra make gel tipped pens I REALLY like, they aren't cheap at Staples or Office Max or even online, scored the only two packs they had. Two lines notebooks, 180 pagers of very nice quality, thank you notes, blank note cards transitioning and finishing up with caramel popcorn for the ride home --- none of which out any strain on my wallet. read more

This store is a complete disaster area. aisles are cluttered with merchandise, shelves are very messy, and heaven forbid you actually find someone working there and ask them a question about where something may be. You're met with eye rolls and teeth sucking before they give you a general direction of where to look. My last trip there, I was standing in the line, waiting for a register for almost 20 minutes. There were only two cashiers working. One was doing a price check on a fishing pole, and the other was having some sort of issue with ringing up items. She had to have a manager and another employee try to help her. Meanwhile, the line just kept getting longer. Finally, when both registers cleared, the cashier for register 1 called out "Next in line, please.". The cashier on register 2 just yelled out "Two.". As a man and a young lady were walking up to that register, the cashier said loudly "Come on! Two. Hurry up.". She was standing there with the employee that tried to help her ring up her last customer. When the man put his items on the counter, the cashier asked how he was doing, and he said "Not good.". She asked why and he told her he had stood in line for over 15 minutes to get checked out. The cashier and the other employee started telling him "We are just workers." over and over. The man didn't say anything else, he finished his transaction and he and the young lady left. I was standing in the line, directly behind the registers and heard both employees making racial comments before the cashier called the next person in line. The cashier told the other employee, "Cracker thinks we in a hurry.". The other employee responded, "They're white, go figure they'd be like that.". I looked at my two children and I left my items on the shelf in the line and we left. A manager was standing right by the registers, talking with a security guar. I highly doubt the manager even paid attention to what happened, because he and the guard were too busy staring at a woman and her teenaged daughter doing something near the registers. Seeing how this business employees individuals like that, I will not shop there again. Racism is racism, plain and simple. read more

Love the deals you can get here. But the store is a mess. I have been to an Ollie's in Ohio and it was so well organized. In the book section books are just tossed all over. The one in Ohio had them nicely displayed. Also the store was very dirty. Bathroom was so dirty!! Plus all items are not priced. Ollie's is the place where you go with no set agenda except an open heart and willing spirit. The vibes are *savings* and the stuff is random. You got books, pantry items, hardware, cookware, cleaning supplies, activity books, rugs, outdoor supplies, car accessories, holiday themed items - all just waiting to be sifted through and seeing if it's worth you taking home. Arrive with no expectations and you'll leave with items you didn't think you needed until you saw them and that the price was right. Bargains, Bargains, Bargains. If you are looking for anything for your home or office, Ollies is the place for you. The staff is very helpful and the store is super stocked with a large selection of household gadgets, electronics, furniture, food, cleaning fluids, dishes, bathroom accessories, car accessories, tools, work clothing and many, many books. Most of the items are factory surplus items still in their original packaging. What does that mean? Super discounted pricing for us!!! We went here on Saturday to look for ideas on Christmas presents for the grandchildren. We found a huge selection of toys, learning aids, Lionel trains, and even scored a Vivitar Microscope/Telescope set. There were toys for infants through teenagers. From Fisher Price to Tonka, Harley Davidson remote control cycles, electronic games, cabbage patch dolls, etc. Although the check out lines were long, they moved pretty quickly besides there were so many things to look at and put in your cart in the last minute that you lost track of time. We had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Charles at his register. He was friendly, informative ( made sure we used our discount cards), advised us of the upcoming 20% sale, and Also broke my heart by telling me the "RUMBA" irobots were out of stock. NO More paying full prices for anything ever again! The parking lot contained plenty of spaces even for oversized vehicles,safe, and it was well lit. The store is conveniently located in a shopping mall close to all of the major arteries in and out of the North Charleston area close to Rivers Avenue, I26, 52, and 78. For the size of the site is organized well enough. They have literally anything you need from books, to movies to clothing and household items. What I do not like and I got annoyed with is that I counted on hand only 4 people working the shift. When I went looking for an employee to get something down for me from a top shelf they were all unavailable. The manager was even at a register- you definitely needed more staff, there isn't enough staff to run the store. Prices are fair you get some really great brands at cheap prices if you look correctly and patiently enough. I was able to find Bedhead products for just $2.99! Which is a steal if you ask me considering they're about $8.99 at Sally's or even target. They also carry a good selection of heaters! Even portable ones for a fraction of the retail prices. The only complaint is not enough staff. Please fix this. read more

Ollie's is... interesting. Lots of interesting stuff and also interesting people. It's a large store and some of the prices are fairly cheap, while others I didn't think were that cheap. They're a "buyout" store so the selection will be different each time you go. When I went tonight, they had huge buyouts on Paula Deen cookware (pretty nice), Swiffer sweepers (also nice), Tide detergent (can be found cheaper at other stores when paired with a sale and coupon), and K-cups that were a brand I've never heard of. Lots of things seem to be "oops" items. I saw a bag of cheddar chex mix that was ONLY the cereal- no peanuts, pretzels, etc. The store DOES have name brand items. If you're looking for something specific, Ollie's probably isn't the place for you. But if you walk around long enough you're bound to find something you need, even if you didn't know you needed it when you walked in. read more

Ollie's is a close-out, overstock, out of business, irregular products store. They buy items from stores that have closed (i.e. Toys R Us), mistake items (i.e. factory second Levi's), and other products they get at volume discounts. So the merchandise is different all the time. You'll find things like books, auto items, rugs, paint, food, toys, sporting goods, sheets, rocking chairs, luggage, DVDs, garden products, and more. This store is a little disorganized with items on the floor, boxes in the aisles, and some narrow aisles. Makes it hard to get by with a basket in some spots. They usually have two registers open for checking out, which sometimes isn't enough when lines get long. Usually doesn't take more than five minutes to check out however. You have to know what's a good deal and what isn't. Don't expect everything to be well-priced. Some are, but others are higher than you'll find elsewhere. But there are some good deals if you know what to look for. Make sure you check expiration dates on their food items; some are close to being expired in the shelf. read more

I have a love/hate situationship for Ollie's. What I like? The super low prices they offer. You can also walk the floor and find really neat things. But, sometimes I find items that are the same price elsewhere. Example: the air fryer I really wanted was at Macy's for $50. I saw that same air fryer at the same price here at Ollies. So just be careful. Although for the most part, you can find really cool things at great prices. What I don't like? THE CLUTTER! I know, I know...go somewhere else if you don't like it. But come on! This isn't the place you can run in real fast to grab an item you need. It may take you 30 minutes to find something you're specifically looking for. Also, with the low prices, you may find less-than-quality items. For example; kid's toys. I was looking for a gift for a kid and some of the boxes were ripped or had big dents in them. Just an observation. If you're looking for great deals on soaps and towels and whatnot, you'll find it here. Just be careful on what you choose! read more

Alyssa is one of my go to places to stock the pantry! My son just got a new apartment and I came to buy a few staples for his pantry. I film so much for him, and also for us! I was also able to grab a fantastic deal on some new floor mats for his car and my daughter's first car. I always allow myself plenty of time to walk up and down the isles to see what all they have. They may not always have the same things, But I can always find something that is needed or wanted. Not once have I ever walked in Ali's and walked out. After a visit to Boxcar my buddy recommended we stop in Ollie's to check them out. I had never heard of them and was surprised at how much stuff they had in the store. They had some unique food items specifically candy that were a good deal. The inside is literally jam packed with food and home good items. I walked around taking in what they have a noting the prices. I expected them to have good deals on most everything but that was not the case. If you are a savvy shopper you will find good deals here but mostly in the food area. The home goods area I noted the prices were better on Amazon and local brick and mortar places. Despite the overwhelming amount of items they have the inside looked pretty clean and there was organization to the chaos. The staff is minimal and seem overwhelmed which affected the customer service. If I am in the area I would gladly stop back in but would not make a special trip just to some here. read more

I really enjoy being able to walk through this store and check out all of the cool items they have on display throughout the store. This store is really good at cheering me up and lessening stress that I may have on a given day just by coming here and seeing everything on sale. They have so much stuff that I always seem to walk away buying at least two or three items even though I may try to limit myself to one. This is an awesome place to buy gifts for people as you can find something for everyone that is either useful, silly, or ironic or all of the above. Ollie's Bargain Outlet is the place to come for some pretty extreme bargains. Walking in you look around and notice that Ollie's is a little bit on the junky side and that stuff is kind of strewn everywhere and not organized at all; but the prices can't be beat. I can't speak for everything in the store, but the limited gardening equipment they carry is very reasonably prices; for instance this past weekend I got a hoe from for $5 that Lowe's wanted $15 for; saving money on my hoe. In the past I've also saved a lot of money on other garden equipment and on flooring; they have a whole section dedicated to flooring including some pretty nice area rugs. read more

I have gotten Christmas rugs for $4, legit cookbooks (Im talking Southern Living, etc) for less than $4, and an endless supply of k-cups for around $4 a pack. That is HALF of what I pay at Harris Teeter for the exact same brand. When you sign up for their newsletter, they email you 15% off coupons all the time as well (making everything even cheaper)! I defintiely would check this place out if you are out and about - you never know what you will find. I'm sticking to Big Lots...today is the last time for Ollies. I've been here 5-10 times because they had my dog's lil green dental treats for 1.99 and nice dog toys for 1.99 to 3.99. I've bought a few other odds and ends. They seem to have a variety of stuff...but true to their saying...when it's gone it's gone... After today I'm gone...I was checking different items out and not in a hurry since it was my day off and I had nothing to do ..I picked up a dog toy and heard an announcement on the intercom , "Security scan zone 2". I never understood why stores do this..like just let everyone know ur looking so the criminals know not to screw up. There's more subtle methods... store cameras and radio, use codes ? Well, at that point it was like they were watching me from every angle, every aisle....I think the national guard was called out...I counted at least 6 in my immediate area and when i was leaving one was outside pretending to be smoking. The only thing missing was the tanks and ak47s..maybe they were on the way There were hardly any customers in the store so I don't know maybe it was someone else... I heard a couple cashiers say "they tried this yesterday" so i don't know... , but I felt persecuted and not comfortable to shop. I never experienced this before except sometimes at Walmart they hide behind stuff and watch certain people . They are pretty out there at Ross's...they greet you coming in and smile and ask if they can help you find something...ha I know loss prevention is a necessity to keep "good stuff cheap" but this was extreme and insulting. I can find good stuff cheap elsewhere without the Mafia experience. read more

Went to Ollie's the day after Christmas..... standing in line and saw a worker carrying a washer out of the store ... mentioned this and Jerrod the manager said Ollie's now carries Lowe's scratch and dent appliances.... He said right now we have an $1800 refrigerator on sale for $200... needless to day we now have a refrigerator from Ollie's.... if you need an appliance and don't care if there is a scratch or dent ... Dollar store on steroids! Lots of great bargains! Some items are consistently in stock while others are one and done like Costco. I loooooooooove Ollie's! If you hit them on the right day you can find all kinds of stuff. Great place for people who are just starting out. I was able to buy all kinds of kitchen things for a whole less than what I would pay at Target or even Walmart. I have managed to find very unique gifts for my niece for her birthday and Christmas especially Frozen things which she loves!
