Although I know a lot of people took care of me while I was in a hospital there was a lot of people that didn't and I left there in pain, after being manipulated to sign a discharge paper. Usually, I don't do things like this, but when it comes to my health, several nurses there need to be retrained on how to deal with people because their bedside manner is terrible the way they talk to people as if they're stupid and don't know better is unacceptable. read more

Staff was extremely unprofessional and uncaring. The ER was a nightmare, and I could tell immediately that I was in the wrong place.

Very good nursing staff. The staff is very conscious of their jobs and strive to be healers. The food service however is lacking and really needs to be mindful of diabetic patients. read more

Can't say enough great things about dr.locke and the staff in the surgery department! They are great at what they do.from the registration desk to reception desk to the nurses that prepared me for my surgery and the doctor's all are great. The most unprofessional and the rudest staff that I have ever incountered, was hoping that when Baptist East took over the attitudes in this facility would have changed but apparently not. I will drive the extra distance from now on to go to Floyd Co. Clark Co needs some type of investigation into the staff who to me seems to be there only to collect a damn paycheck and to hell with the patient. You do not even deserve the 1 star you received. Terrible care, I waited three hours with an open wound pouring blood in the emergency room. Went to baptist health and was completely taken care of inside of 40 minutes. I would not recommend Clark memorial emergency room to anyone for any reason. read more

The ER here is horrible. They take forever and their bathrooms are dirty. Probably the worst ER I've ever been to. I'm from California and I've seen busier, this place was not super busy, and their attitudes wasn't top of the line either. read more

I was given an order for an ultrasound by my doctor:s office. I went to Clark and walked into the outpatient imaging. The lady working the desk called someone, t think his name was Mike to see if he could give me an ultrasound. He apparently said okay and I sat in the waiting area. He came out to get me and as we walked back to the room he said he didn't know why I was getting the ultrasound and he didn't think the doctor should have ordered it.but he would do it. I tried to explain that she wanted to make sure I didn't have a blood clot. I guess he couldn't hear me because he wanted knoe exactly where I had a blood clot. I said I never had one and explained that the nurse practitioner wanted to make sure I didn't have one. He did the ultrasound but still appeared agitated that he had to do it. Go somewhere else to get any medical test. I am going to next time I have to get anything like an ultrasound, CT scan or whatever read more

After learning first hand about the way this hospital runs, I honestly will never trust any doctor, nurse, nor anyone in the healthcare field, ever again. I'd earnestly really rather die at home. Unfortunately, this is every hospital in the area, and probably everyone in the healthcare industry. Incompetent Doctors, rude, incompetent and uncaring nurses, none of the doctors are on the same page, mix up your medicine-you won't know what you're taking or IF you're taking your home medicine, don't update family members on your condition, punish the patient by ignoring them for hours when they need help using the restroom (by THEIR ORDERS), knowingly feed you sandwiches and chips instead of a proper meal, talk about you loudly unprofessionally within earshot when you're stuck in a bed, this is mainly fourth floor (ICU,TCU, etc.), but it's the entire hospital. It's not just borderline, it's straight up malpractice. A HELLHOLE. You should all be entirely ashamed of yourselves. If I worked here I'd quit, never tell anyone, or couldn't sleep at night. You're honestly lucky if you make it out of here alive. And that's no exaggeration. People are dying from this hospital left and right, and everyone needs to know it. My wife came at the ER to receive treatment as a COVID patient struggling to breathe. Not once did they give her the oxygen she needed, saying her oxygen saturation was normal. Also there is no communication among the doctors and staff. She was told contradictory things regarding treatment for her. She was told there were no beds to bring her. She had to spend two nights in a tiny exam bed. And not once did they offer her a gown. She was in the same clothes for two days. Because there were no beds, she was turned away and denied further treatment. They sent her home early. The level of incompetence and lack of compassion by the doctors ego looked into her case there is bring the pale. As a consequence of being released too early, she has started three nights in the ICU and one night in PCU at Norton Brownsboro East End where she made a turn around by more competent and compassionate professional staff. One thing I don't understand is that we are told to go to the ER if we are short of breath and other severe COVID-19 and just call ahead. I called ahead so that they could prepare to receive here, nothing was done. When the nurse came, she was scorned for contaminated everything. Nice. Very nice compassionate greeting to someone suffering and trying to follow the rules from someone who should have been prepared to receive her. But ur is just one example of their incompetence. **WARNING** This is a very long review!!!! I'm truly not sure where to begin with this heinous hospital. My first visit was to the ER 12/18/19 where I spent 11 hours (yes 11 hours) and three shifts while they tried to figure out what was causing my back pain. After 3 doctors, 2 CT Scan's (one with contrast), a urine analysis and blood work they came up with nothing. Sent me home with pain meds and a suggestion to take it easy for two weeks. Now comes the worst part. Dealing with their billing dept. I get my bill and everything is lumped in together. Now I know the radiologist will send a separate bill. But nothing was itemized. I received meds and shots and was actually placed in a hospital room which has it's own set of costs. In the meantime I had already received 5 EOB's with lots of line items so I expected a breakdown. I called the number on the bill and talked to a guy who could have been a car salesman. He skirted all of my questions not giving me a logical explanation. I hung up very stressed out. I then called again and spoke with a supervisor who was no better. I ended calling the hospital to talk with financial director to let him know that whomever they were using in Nashville were horrible. He was nice enough and sorry and gave me a direct line to the hospital's billing dept. here in Jeffersonville. I told him and I swore I would NEVER EVER come back to his hospital even if I was dying. Well wouldn't you know it I went to my Internist who told me that they have found an anomaly on one of the tubes to my kidney's. I was so upset. I asked her why they couldn't tell me that when I was in the ER and of course she had no clue. She then asked my to have and kidney ultrasound done along with a Mammogram. She put the order's into the system and before I could tell her not to send me to Clark Memorial she looked at me and said "I've already sent it, just go there". You'll never guess the exact same thing happened with billing. I hadn't even received a bill yet, just an EOB and noticed that they charged me for my FREE once a year screening Mammogram. You see when you go to Clark Hospital you have to get checked in by the billing department. They give you a run down of the cost after insurance and ask if you want to pay today taking 15% off of the bill. Of course I did, not knowing I was paying for my Mammogram as well. How am I supposed to know what an ultrasound of the kidney should cost. I explicitly told her that it was free screening. So again I called the billing department already filled with dread. The exact same thing happened again. They go over what's on the EOB not answering any of your questions. They are seriously good at this mental manipulation. It was a simple question OF why I got charged for my Mammo and all I got was we'll send it to another dept. for review. Review what. You charged me for Mammogram that my insurance clearly paid at 100%. I asked to speak with a supervisor and she left me on hold. Go figure. Again I called back and spoke with a supervisor explaining how horrible the first girl was and I finally got a sorry out with a "but" after it. We all know that nothing counts before the but. She then explained that a refund was being processed. Why couldn't the first rude girl have told me that. Really so much more to the story, but the bottom line is, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE AVOID THIS CRAPPY HOSPITAL!!!!! read more

This hospital is where I prefer to have all my bloodwork done for the Clark group physicians I see. They are so quick friendly & efficient when checking in and my bloodwork results are typically available about 2 hours later! I went in for labs today, a Saturday morning, at 8:41 and walked out at 8:50 to be on with my weekend! Typically on weekdays it's not much different, they'll usually have you in and out in 15 minutes. read more

I went into the ER last night, I have a G-Tube in my belly, my G-tube came out while changing my bandage, So I got Transported to Clark Memorial ER, I had to use the bathroom really bad, I was laying on that damn bed for hour's on end Bleeding thru the belly where my Tube used to be, and holding my urgent need to go to the bathroom, Finally after hour's on end came the Nurse and the Doctor, well The nurse brought in different bag's of G-Tube's, The Doctor opened one bag of tube's,, He told the nurse that He had gotten the wrong tube's, But yet decided to go ahead and put the wrong tube in me, They did not give me any kind of numbing Meds. No IV with relaxing meds. NOTHING at all, He put the tube inside my belly and you Talk about pain, !!!!!! It was a total nightmare. read more

ER is a flipping joke. Parking for ER patients and family is insanely messed up and totally unacceptable. I saw 2 security guards leaving work who parked in 2 of the very limited parking spaces just outside the ER. I saw an ER doctor leave and get into his car parked in one of the VERY few handicapped spots. The bathroom in the ER was disgusting and would not flush. Add to that the fact that there really is no excuse for a 4 hour wait to see a doctor when there are only a handful of patients in the ER. Terrible hospital waited 4 hours didn't receive any help eventually went home in the same pain I came in.

I arrived at 10:30am, they drawn blood, left me in the waiting area. Currently been here 3 1/2 hours waiting to be seen and I told them I aM in pain. If I could give negative stars I would. They claim they have rooms for every body so patients won't leave and that's bull crap and now people are pilIng in. No one will give a answer to when I will get seen.Going on 41/2 hours still not seen still in pain and point out to them that my urine cup has been sitting on the desk for almost 2 hours.
