Live music flows through the Show almost constantly for all of our enjoyment as we stroll around looking at motors, trunks, interiors and paint jobs. Most cars were at least 30 years old and quite a few were from the 50s. Souped up and also stock; many gorgeous cars, Jeeps, trucks, racecars, military vehicles and more to examine. T-shirts are sold as well as raffle tickets. Although entrance to the event is free, purchases of these items go toward the community, as this is a fund raiser. Other things to do: You can indulge in something tasty at the many food vendors or food trucks on hand. Business vendors provide free trinkets along with business cards and brochures. There is a nice area for the kids to play and get some energy out. The Show offers a shuttle service which I'm sure was a blessing because heading up Colima during this show is crazy! Packed full of traffic! I did not notice where to catch the shuttle or if it costs anything (I searched online on several sites and didn't find this info) What a great day to get out and enjoy some sunshine, music, cars and food!! The contest was open to all foreign, classic and collector cars - 1976 and older. The event was minutes from my house so I was able to walk to the event. The number of vehicles competing was large and contained funny cars, dragsters, classic collector cars & trucks and some unusual vehicles like a Bat mobile and milk delivery truck. I even saw a 61 Chevy Impala which happened to be my first car I owned and use to cruise Whittier Blvd in - what great memories! Admission was free to the public and there was live music throughout out the day, vendor booths, food trucks, raffle prizes, event t shirts, games and kid activities. Trophies were awarded in over 20 categories and the raffle grand prize was $500.00 cash. Other gifts included a 40" flat screen TV and 2 complete sets of brand new car rims. Food wise there were 6 catering trucks and I ended up enjoying the USDA prime sirloin steak & fries with chimichuri sauce from the Barcelona Food To Go truck - it was delish! I'm looking forward to next years event and plan on spending the entire day next time.
