We had sliders from high end ground chuck and tuna poke. The charcuterie was absolutely lovely with several types of brie, blue cheese, gouda, and an aged parmesan. We had a dance floor with tables all around, tray passed apps, a signature cocktail, and a full bar. I appreciated the lack of a television which got everyone chatting in the bar area, at the marble high top table, in the sofa sitting area and all around the dance floor. And the bathrooms we were equipped and clean. I definitely will host events at this space again. We enjoyed all the perks from the recent remodel: new lightning, floors, modern bathrooms, video projector with a huge 16' screen, LED ceiling lighting, built in sound system throughout the banquet area, and the new bar (which wow'd everyone!). Neal and the Knights team were great about showing us the place, providing set-up and layout options, as well as setting us up with the great catering service from Jack. The park has a dirt track that's wide enough so that people can shuffle or sprint here without interfering with one another. The trees and plants are also gorgeous, and there are signs everywhere explaining why these particularly (local) species were selected and how the local watershed works. There are large concrete benches/stairs on the southern end of the track, so there's plenty of space to sit and watch even if you're not joining your exercising friends. It is also used for city council meeting so its location is well known within the city. Getting in and out is a bit of wait as Garvey is a major thoroughfare and traffic often backs up at Garvey and Rosemead. Sometime I turn on Lee Street to get around the jam. But I digressed. Back to the Center. For some reason I can't explain, I used to refer to this center as the senior center. I often see people playing table tennis, and hold yoga/dance & exercise classes here. Come on by when you are in the area. Staff at the reception counter are great resources to answer questions.
