Well I have to admit, I was nervous booking after reading previous reviews. However I had a great flight from FLL to CDG. I bought the package that allows two meals and seat selection, the cost was $324 one way, what an awesome bargain. I think flying on the 787-9 Dreamliner was awesome and the seat room (36c) was very good. The flight was smooth and we landed on time. They have TVs at each seat so you have entertainment. I also like the fact that at least from FLL the flight leaves at night (11:00pm) and you can sleep, unlike most other airlines that leave at 6:00pm. In Paris I did run into a traveler who also booked on Air Norwegian out of JFK and they did cancel her flight, so I still don't have 100% confidence in them, but when on time and flying Dreamliner, they can't be beat read more

We tried to change our return flight to one later in the day and Norwegian wanted over $1000. We paid double the base fare for a FLEX ticket so we could make changes but it was wasted money. Past experience was not good with a huge extra charge for a slightly overweight checked bag even though I was allowed two bags but only checking one. I will not be flying with them again. I would rather pay more and feel like I was being treated fairly. read more

I never got a refund when they canceled flights from EU to the US during COVID which was just wrong. so I used my cash points around Europe. I was trying to change a flight and I accidentally canceled my flight. Norwegian how is that even possible so accidentally cancel a flight. Can't you have a are you sure button??? I have fat fingers and was on my phone. Of course because Norwegian sucks they sent the same I can't help you email as always because I didn't buy the more expensive ticket. Everything was noted on the ticket but because it was a low fare ticket that put me in boarding group c which is the last group that doesn't have bags. Their boarding agents wouldn't allow me on the flight unless I paid for the bag at the gate. On top of that I filled a claim for a refund but they take 2 weeks to process a claim. read more

For our connecting flight, we took Norwegian Airlines from Oslo, Norway to Los Angeles, California. Checking in at the gate was a headache, but that was probably due to Oslo airport itself rather than the airline. Way too crowded at the Gate area because of the remodeling being done in the area. The plane was terrific! Their Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft is comfortable to fly in. They have a wonderful in flight entertainment system. Good selection of tv shows, movies, games, and more to choose from. I like the dimming feature they have on their windows. No window shades needed. We pre-ordered meals for the long flight when we booked our tickets. The meals tasted alright. The pilots did a fine job, and the crew was pretty good too. For the price, I would continue to use Norwegian Airlines. Despite all the extra fees and flight delays, they are still a good deal. read more

Flew with Norwegian from the states. Customer service at this airport is okay not the friendliest. I had to recheck my luggage for my next leg to Tromso. I didn't know that the self service baggage drop I was trying to use was closed... The light was green, screen was on... but the little gate was blocking the baggage belt. The counter attendant gave me attitude telling me "It's not in service" I told her well.. I didn't know that. As for the flight... it's okay. You have to pay for your food. USB charger. When a RT transatlantic flight from OAK - CPH is advertised for $750 on the Oakland Tribune, you BUY it. No questions asked. Well, I read the fine print: choosing your seat will cost you $30, checking in your luggage will be $35 and your meal will be another $40. Holy cow. That's a lot of add ons. So, this human changed her traveling habits. I was prepared to buy food at the airport before going on a 10+ hour flight, I conditioned myself to sit next to a stranger and I packed light. A carry-on for a TWO week trip to Europe in May when the weather was unpredictable. (rain, lots of it and a hot summer weather in Prague?! Bring it) for the record, I packed 7 tops, 2 bottoms, a dress, ankle boots, personal items and toiletries and it all weighed 19 lbs -- 3 lbs less than the allotted limit. What can I say? I'm a master packer! (Say that 3x fast and it sounds completely dirty) Needless to say, Norwegian Air ended my fabulous Euro trip in a disaster. Flying out of CPH back to the U.S., our flight was delayed by 4 hours 50". (did you know that under European travel laws, you get monetary compensation when a flight is delayed 5 hours or more?!) We didn't even get notification of it being delayed until 1.5 hours prior to departure. Their website also didn't reflect the delay until I decided to check my email. We were "compensated" with 160 DKK food vouchers, which in Copenhagen, basically buys you a small breakfast. And a beer. Norwegian did NOT give us any compensation for our missed connecting flight in the U.S. or the extra $$ I have to spend for an overnight in a hotel. So, THANKS Norwegian for being the douche that you are but you at least fed me so I wouldn't have to starve and shoot myself. (ha!) Being a budget airline and a newbie in the transatlantic flight route, I should've known better. But I jumped at the chance to save money and in the long run .. it wasn't the case. Now I know why there are bars at the airport, so I can appropriately drown my sorrows in beer. read more

Worst flight experience ever. If you are just looking to get from point A to point B then book away. I flew Norwegian Airlines from JFK to London and on this 8 hour flight, I did not even get served water, which I think is a bare minimum. There is literally a fee for everything - from checked bags, to picking seats, and food. If you did not preorder food, they would not even offer you water which is completely absurd to me. Pushing the refreshment cart down the aisle and only offering drinks to people who had preordered food and ignoring everyone else on the flight is unacceptable. The lady next to me asked for water 3 times and was told that "they were currently at capacity" and that someone else would be around to give her water, which never happened. Most airlines will offer a complimentary snack or meal especially if it is a transcontinental flight but Norwegian Airlines does not. Discount airlines usually charge fees for little things but I would not even consider Norwegian Airlines to be a "discount" airline because the tickets were not that cheap. Have no complaints about this airline. Baggage check-in was a cinch. I actually did the whole check-in process over at the train station (Oslo S central station) and then just dropped my bag off at one of the baggage drop off belt. It was incredibly easy and hassle-free. On my way boarding the plane walking through the jetbridge, I noticed the jet's tail painted with "6000th Boeing 737" which I thought was pretty neat. The plane is of the 737-800 type and is relatively new. The actual flight took 40 minutes from Oslo to Stavanger and only 20% of the seats were filled. Not sure if the load capacities are the same with many of the Norwegian flights but if it isn't, I guess I lucked out on this particular flight. read more

I am shocked at the policy of Norwegian to not make appropriate accommodations for a 16 year old stranded in a foreign city when their delayed flight was their fault. In an email response to me, after I contacted FAA, Norwegian admitted the flight delay was "caused by an earlier disruption within our network." Yet they stand by a failed policy that it isn't their responsibility to accommodate its passengers for its own incompetencies. If my daughter had been late to Norwegian and missed their flight, you can bet they'd make her pay for the necessary changes. At what point do airline companies take responsibility for their actions? When are our legislators going to take them to task? After a young woman is raped? I wasn't about to find out. I spent $75 in out-of-country calling and $330 on a new flight to ensure my petite girl wouldn't have to sleep overnight with one eye open in a Paris airport. If passengers are traveling alone, all airlines must own up for their mistakes and pay for a hotel and safe transportation to/from. I shouldn't have to beg for it, only to have a customer rep hang up on me. read more

After an uneventful flight SWF (Stewart Newburgh) to EDI (Edinburgh, Scotland), our return flight was delayed for several hours until Norwegian finally canceled the flight outright just an hour before the airport closed down - leaving us passengers guessing about the flight's status and ultimately stranding us in Edinburgh with no direction and no rebooking of a new outbound flight. Not a single Norwegian staffer ever got on the intercom to update passengers at any point during the day. All communication was done via Edinburgh airport's own Swissport staff and by passenger word of mouth. Hotel accommodation was made for us by Swissport staff at a nearby Holiday Inn, but a new return flight for us could only be booked via Norwegian directly. The phone numbers we were given we called immediately, but we were on hold for over 3 hours on both the US and UK numbers. Never was a single human from the company able to speak with us on any digital media or real-life vocal platform. We finally all made our own arrangements to get home. I personally spent $1888 to get home on a one-way ticket that left the following morning. This is as disconnected from reality as possible. Norwegian has created an airline that doesn't exist. It is run by robots in someone's imagination. Expect the same type of customer service that Matt Damon received in The Martian. read more

For God's sake - never ever fly with this airline. Quite recently, I flew Norwegian from London to New York; it quickly turned into the worst flight of my life. There was a storm scheduled in New York. We asked the staff if it would pose a problem at the gate, but they assured us that their pilots would be able to handle a little weather. We should never have taken off. We arrived in New York at the peak of the storm. Our plane circled in the air for roughly an hour, before it was decided that the weather was too bad, and we were redirected to Albany. Once we landed in Albany, we sat, in the plane on the runway, for another 4.5 hours. We spent, in total, nearly 14 hours on that plane. Being Norwegian, they did not have meals for those who had not ordered in advance. In that 13+ hour trip, what did they give those of us who hadn't pre-ordered food? One bag of crackers and a bottle of water. They then informed us that they were unable to retrieve our bags from the hold. This was a substantial problem for people with medication in the bags - the flight attendants advised those people to get another prescription. We were told that Norwegian would ship our bags to us following the storm. It has been nearly 3 weeks, and our luggage has still not arrived. We waited for 1-2 hours in a quickly-rigged immigration system. It then became clear that part of our 4.5 hour wait was due to the fact that no one from the airline was coordinating with the airport on what to do for over an hour after we landed. We were then put on busses for a 3 hour drive to our original airport. We were told to fill out a form about our bags, and that a Norwegian operative would collect them from us when we arrived at the airport. There was no operative there - their desk was empty, and no one answered the phone. In the end, we had to leave our forms at the empty desk and hope that someone would eventually collect them. I do not hold Norwegian accountable for the weather. However, I do hold them accountable for the following: 1. For taking off when the weather forecast predicted a severe storm at our destination. 2. For selecting a fallback airport that was incapable of handling a plane of that size. 3. For not providing adequate food and drink for passengers who were kept on a plane hours longer than anticipated. 4. For not quickly communicating with the airport in order to speed up the rate at which we disembarked. 5. For lying to us about their representative who would collect our forms at our destination. 6. For being unable to ship our bags to us for nearly 3 weeks. 7. For providing no compensation whatsoever for this ordeal. If I could give negative stars, I would. Never ever fly Norwegian. read more

Norwegian Air out of Oslo, Norway is a good airline for cheap tickets. We flew from Orlando, Fl, US and transferred to a flight to Paris, France. Norwegian flies into orly airport on the southern end of Paris rather than to the larger and more well-known Charles De Gaulle Airport. Orly is more for domestic flights. Norwegian is a no frills airline where you literally pay for everything. Water is not served to everyone, you need to buy it. The staff on the ground weren't particularly nice and we pretty much had no idea how the boarding was going as they never invited people to board. A good airline if you want cheaper tickets and don't mind paying for any and all amenities. I would use Norwegian again. read more

I'm giving this shitty airline the one star because they occasionally have sales campaigns which might get you a decent price for a flight. Most of their staff is also usually friendly, and do the best they can under the circumstances. The capitalistic empire that is Norwegian airline, however, is abysmal. In overall, their prices aren't much cheaper than others, but in addition you have to pay extra for anything that can make your journey comfortable. Want to bring luggage? Pay extra. Want to reserve a seat to get a preferred place? Pay extra. Want (or need, for whatever reason) a seat in the front or by emergency exits? Pay extra extra! It's ridiculous. They used to have a policy that you could get a random seat by not choosing when you booked, but you could change it once you got to the airport and checked in, from any seats that weren't already reserved. It was a nice system, and I'd arrive earlier than I needed to try to get a preferred seat. When I arrived an hour earlier than needed today, I discovered I could no longer do this. What a waste of time, and what a shitty way to treat your customers. Most companies try to provide better services, but Norwegian is continuously doing the opposite. I will not be giving them any more of my money. I'd rather pay slightly more to a different airline for a comfortable flight and a customer experience that doesn't make me feel like garbage. Also, their flight are usually delayed, and frequently gets cancelled on short notice without providing a reason. (Last summer they cancelled an hour before take-off, after we had our luggage checked in and were waiting by the gate. They did absolutely nothing to help get us to our vacation destination, and we lost a lot of money on hotel bookings for the two nights we got delayed after buying the first available flight with another airline.) Companies are supposed to make you feel valued as a customer. Norwegian makes you feel cheated. Stay away, and choose someone else. read more

Our return flight to California was for Premium Class seating which allows for 2 checked bags per person. We arrived at the airport 3-hours early and checked only 3 bags for the return flight home. As we walked through the duty-free area on the way to the boarding gate, we purchased 20 chocolate bars for friends/family back home. However, as we were boarding the aircraft, the Norwegian Air boarding agent indicated our carry-on weight was over the permitted allowance by the weight of these 20 chocolate bars. Not wanting to miss our flight home, we paid an additional $86.69 to check these chocolate bars as additional checked baggage even though we were allowed a 4-bag allowance for Premium Class. 3 bags at check-in plus 1 additional bag at boarding equals 4 bags total. Norwegian Air said we should have checked 4-bags at the initial check-in. However, we did not realize that by purchasing 20 chocolate bars at the duty-free area on the way to the boarding gate would put us over the carry-on weight limit. We have requested that Norwegian Air refund the $86.69 fee that should not have been charged. If they grant the refund, we will add to this initial review so others may view how/if Norwegian Air responds to this request for a refund. read more

Worst experience ever! We took a 11 hours flight from Paris to LAX and they gave us something to eat just once, even if we booked the meal with the ticket. Just one hour before landing they gave us half of a sandwich as a snack. Most of the passengers didn't booked the meal so either they had already bought something to the airport, or they were forced to spend 10$ for a sandwich and a bottle of water. Water, tea or coffe is served free just to the people with the hot meal booked, and if someone ask for something more you're just ignored or you don't receive a real answer. Since I'm vegetarian and I was starving after 6 hours of flight without food, I asked to a flight attendant if there was something else then some chips or the typical mozzarella and tomato sandwich. She just said no, so I insisted but there was no chance to have something to eat. But when they served our snack an hour before landing I've that ALL the sandwiches were vegetarians! In conclusion, the ticket price is low but I think it's easy to raise it just buying food during a long flight. I would recommend to choose another company for intercontinental flights. read more

My flight from Los Angeles to London was cancelled and I was given cash points with the implicit promise that I would be able to use them to fly to Europe from America in the future. All flights to Europe from the US were then discontinued and I was left with useless points and no way of getting to Europe. The company refused to assist me in finding a way to Europe to use the points, refused a cash refund, and refused to extend the lifetime of my points. They also knew that my US flights would soon me cancelled before they offered me the points refund, but they did not inform me and intentionally misled me. This is a dishonest company, I recommend everybody avoid it. read more

This is such a despicable airline, I'm embarrassed as a Norwegian that it has the word "Norwegian" in it. The conduct of this airline is so unconscionable, this will be only my second review out of 669 to hit the Yelp space limit. This will take several drafting sessions, as relating merely a handful -- let alone all -- of this company's misdeeds is sufficiently exhausting as to merit a respite. Where to start? First, flying Norwegian Air is dangerous to one's health. On my last flight with them, it took several hours to get water. Multiple requests, and even buying water by credit card from the seat-back console, all went unheeded. Flight attendants promised to bring water but failed to. Flight attendant call lights were turned off without comment or service. At one point in this Orwellian charade, a flight attendant said the only way to get water was by buying it, but when I tried doing so, it was impossible. By this point quite dehydrated, I even went to the back galley and asked for water, which was refused. If I were Norwegian's lawyers, this sort of conduct would keep me up at night. If you like flying towards active volcanoes, fly Norwegian. Norwegian diverted an itinerary I had purchased for someone towards Iceland on August 27, despite the fact that a volcano there was known to be active at the time. Passengers received no substantive explanation for the airline's conclusion that the flight path was safe. Two days later, the volcano erupted. If you think of your time as just an annoying thing that must pass until you get to go to sleep each night, choose Norwegian, as they will be happy to waste it for you. Of four itineraries my family and I have taken with them... - One was 4 hours late - After one, it took bags 2.5 hours from wheels-down to reach the baggage carousel - One non-stop was diverted to Iceland for refueling and arrived God knows how many hours late If you're a fan of bait-and-switch tactics, come learn from the best. Norwegian's online broker falsely advertises its Economy Plus inventory as Business or First, which it most certainly is not. In fact, it's not even Economy Plus, when Norwegian switches you to another airline to fulfill the flight. And from that same flight: If you like food but hate calories, choose Norwegian, so you can throw up your in-flight meal due to food poisoning. If you think telling passengers what's going on -- whether before the departure date, at the gate, on the tarmac, or in the air -- is one giant waste of breath, choose Norwegian, which, to pick one of many examples, failed to send a text message announcing a major flight diversion to a passenger (whose mobile phone number Norwegian had) for whom I had bought a flight. If your asceticism prevents you from ever seeking redress against others who injure you, Norwegian will be happy to have you, since, after all these wrongs and many others, it never offered a penny of compensation. If you're from the Philip Morris school of philanthropy -- donate a small amount but spend a ton advertising the donation -- you'll love the in-flight self-congratulatory video about Norwegian's efforts to combat child HIV, which concludes by touting its ... wait for it ... drum roll please ... 1 million crown ($159k USD) donation. The service at the gate in Oslo was rude and obviously a scam to get more money saying they needed to take one of my carry on bags because it was two big. This airline continues to live up to its poor customer services reviews. I flew with the airline many times on their long-haul flights from the United States to Europe prior to pandemic. As a result of the pandemic, they announced their restructuring and bankruptcy of the company in 2021, resulting in the end of long-haul flights from the United States. With many cashpoints banked up, and set to expire in December 2023, I have requested many times for these points to be extended through 2025, for a loyal customer who does not live where they now only fly such as Europe and Scandinavia. I pleaded for this to be done as a courtesy, but their customer rewards support agents Kristina and Julie, refused to hear my request, even through IT IS AT NOT EXTRA COST TO NORWEGIAN. It's truly a shame, and I am requesting that if Geir Karlsen, the CEO of the company, reads this, that he hears my request as a loyal customer for many years. This "award winning" loyalty customer program should allow for situations, JUST like this, especially since I am STILL TRYING TO BE A LOYAL CUSTOMER. Situations where LOYAL customers who live in the United States, that Norwegian decided to "discontinue its long haul flights" to help on this simple extension. This is a value airline. Ticket prices are low, but it is advisable to expect some discomfort in exchange for the savings. I flew Norwegian Air from NYC/JFK to Oslo. On the plane I was surprised they went as far as to sell bottled water to the passengers via the on-screen ordering system, though they will still give you a tiny cup of water for free if you manage to get a flight attendant's attention and ask. Charging for water was a new development in nickel and diming, I thought. Water, is, of course, one of the most basic necessities and additionally it is an item that you cannot bring through the security check. Luckily air was still included in the price, however I must also report that apparently warmth is also now also an add-on optional purchase. It was the coldest I have ever felt a plane get, however they had blankets for sale. While I shivered in my seat I thought about this practice is particularly unfair to the elderly. On my flight from NYC to Oslo they lost my luggage. It took six days for them to locate it, and the experience of dealing with them to get the luggage back was not great at all. I don't know if this is the fault of the airline or the airports, but I was bounced around between this airline, the airport baggage handling department, and the outsourced lost luggage "tracking" service, and the delivery courier, and none of these organizations communicated well with each other or with me and it made the experience of being in a foreign country without any clothes particularly frustrating because even after my bag was reported found when I called in I was told they didn't know where it was at the moment as someone in one of these other organizations had not updated the tracking system and so basically, even when they had found my bag it was somehow still lost. That's pretty impressive. Still, the price of the ticket was excellent. When I'm looking to save money I will considering flying this airline again, despite the inconveniences, but I will definitely also consider other options. read more

When my fiancé and I arrived to our 1 hour+ delayed flight @ Gardermoen Airport in Norway, we were told that our carry-ons were approved. Norwegian even attached yellow "APPROVED" labels on our carry-on pieces. Two minutes before boarding the plane, our carry-ons were taken from us and we were charged an extra $150+ on the spot. Both our carry-on pieces were smaller than the max size allowed! Norwegian said our carry-ons would be taken away from us and left at the airport if we refused to pay! This happened not only to us, but also to 25-35% of the other passengers as well. A young mother traveling alone with three small children, carrying a TINY little carry-on, was charged a large sum as they ripped her carry-on away from her. I'm so shocked! I've been flying internationally with Norwegian for several years! Why does The Norwegian Customer Service approve your luggage when you check in, then proceed to take it away from you RIGHT when you board? We paid $2,000+ for our tickets from Oslo to LAX (that amount does NOT include ANY meals, water or drinks, carry-on fees or checked luggage). I know that Norwegian had very poor results last year and need to find ways to make quick money to get their company back on track... it's just sad when a company act desperate like this and mistreat their passengers! We did not have such a great experience with Norwegian Air over the holidays. I booked our tickets weeks before for the time I needed to be back to London in time for the grandchildren's Christmas program. We live in California and were in London visiting our family. They cancelled my flight and we had to leave late evening instead of around noon, meaning we missed the program. We were in London flying to Denmark and back to visit other relatives. There was no flight the day before so i could not change the flight to the day before. If they need to change a time it seems inappropriate to change it to many, many hours later. And...charging for drinks.......come on! And the seats were so close together and the plane very crowded. read more

I am a fan of Norwegian Airlines. I have flown 8 times on Norwegian Airlines. I am also 61 years old and have flown on many trans-continental flights throughout my life. Norwegian Airlines uses new 787's which are spacious, clean and very up to date with the newest of aviation technology. I feel very safe in them. I also like the idea of having many options in terms of price as I feel that you get what you pay for. The food that you order in advance is adequate and "tasty" as described. It is just enough to tide you over on a long flight as you are not going to be moving much for the next ten hours from the west coast of the U.S. to Europe, and If they gave you more, it would probably put on extra pounds you do not need. If you ARE a glutton, you can order and pay for additional tasty foods on board through your video screen and have them delivered to you When flying to Europe, I find that Oslo, Copenhagen, and Stockholm are pleasant, modern, airport hubs for making connections. I hope that Norwegian Airlines gets the long term landing rights that it is seeking in the U.S. This will be a big plus for consumers here. If you are flying from the U.S. to Europe, try buying your fare in euros. There is a currency selector on the top right of the website. I saved $190.00 twice the last time I booked a pair of tickets. I discovered this when I booked and cancelled a flight, and then rebooked the following day. Don't make that mistake, or it will take you two weeks to get a refund. Anyway, I think that it is a great airline with a Scandinavian, egalitarian approach to customer service, and that appeals to me read more

By far the worst experience I have ever dealt with. If it was possible to give this airline negative reviews I would. For my departing flight we were delayed 6 and half hours. Coming back we were delayed 3 hours. I'm not sure how this airline is still running. I wish I had read reviews prior to booking. Give the customer what he wants, not what your marketing manager thinks makes him look cool. Even better, give your customer what he never expected. In this case GRATIS wi-fi access. I nearly had tears in my eyes. So yes, I'm a total fan of Norwegian and their straightforward, good, reliable service. Beautiful aircraft. High maintenance standards. And they seem to be successful. Norwegian is an outright scam airline. Their website is full of pristine 787 Dreamliners with state of the art WiFi and entertainment. My recent flight from Rome to Newark was anything but. We were shuttled to the field (apparently they don't warrant a gate) and pulled up to a totally unmarked 777. Upon boarding, it was clear the plane was 20+ years old and had never been refurbished. We had bought premium economy tickets, and were seated in a shabby and incredibly worn out business class section where the seats didn't work and the entertainment was old school video monitors where the stewards have to play a video tape. No matter, as the sound didn't work (we were given those crappy plastic ear buds) and the screen was total static. I started to get nervous abouot the quality of the pilots, and talked to the spanish crew who said the flight is operated by Privilege Airlines out of Spain. The only thing Norwegian Air on the flight were the magazines and the soap dispensers. I might have been more understanding if this had been a last minute equipment switch, but they told me they have been operating this flight for Norwegian Air for 6 months. They were nice people, but the service and food was awful. Customer service for Norwegian Air sucks...I wrote them for an explanation and they referred me to fine print on their site. It is a crap airline, and I would avoid at all costs. read more

We recently booked and flew with Norwegian Air from Edinburgh to Helsinki. With stopovers at Copenhagen and Stockholm. The booking online is straightforward and was done efficiently. Their online information is comprehensive, but not too crowded. You cannot (yet) check-in online when flying from the UK but they offer self-service check-in at airports. (We've used and seen these check-in machines at all 4 airports) What I like most is that you can carry up to 23KG of luggage and choose your seat number. - For a low cost Airline that is rare these days. The fleet consists mostly of Boeing 737-800s and that means seats are 3 each side. I find the spacing between the seats adequate, obviously I would've liked more, but hey ..flying low budget et al. The drinks and food cost money..duh. But they provide free (hot) water and allow you to eat your own sandwiches. Here is the kicker: Free Wifi FREE! - Yes ladies & gentlemen - this is a low budget airline providing free Wifi when up in the air. You can check emails, facebook, twitter, listen to music and play online games to your heart's content. Before you know it you will be landing. I enjoyed flying with them and will use their services again. read more

I flew this airline from London Gatwick to Oslo one way this summer. The flight was not super long, but I never felt that I was flying a discount airline. The plane was clean and in good condition. We chose the airline in part due to the price, but largely due to the non-stop flight and the times that were offered. Other discount airline competitors were not able to offer a non-stop trip. We purchased our checked luggage at the time of purchase, as it would have been more expensive to do so later on at the time of boarding. The check in kiosk allows you to print off your baggage sticker. It's not the fault of the airlines, but my fellow passengers did not queue up efficiently so it was a bit confusing at Gatwick as to where the lines were going to, while some kiosks remained unused. If my travels require using them in the future, I will not hesitate to do so. read more

Totally worked. They offered a direct flight Copenhagen to Oakland that nobody else offered and they beat other's prices. It was worth it to pay for 1 upgrade so we had 1 free checked bag, food, and I could pick our seats ahead. As for the other whiners, if it too much $, book your flight with someone else. You know ahead what the wait time is for connecting flights and what your flight costs. Can't complain if you then select it. wha wha wha. I had been scheduled on an Air Berlin flight and they cancelled the direct flight 3 weeks before my leave date and had me hop-scotching across Europe. read more

DO NOT EVER FLY THIS AIRLINE. 11.5 HOUR FLIGHT, NO FREE PEANUTS OR WATER, IF YOU DON'T PRE ORDER A MEAL FOR AN EXTRA $45, GOOD LUCK. CHARGED $92 TO CHECK MY ROLLER CARRY ON AT THE GATE!!!! Get ready to be robbed. Customer service is terrible as well, inattentive, not helpful nor apologetic. Any other airline I've ever been on, if they say you have to check your carry on and it's at the gate already, they offer you the courtesy of waiving a fee because of the inconvenience. They cancelled an entire flight to JFK and then they made everyone get their bag, then get in a line to get re-booked. In 1 hour they have re-accommodated 14 people. Of the 500+ in line. THE. ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE. An hour in they finally drug out a few chairs. This airline has been nothing but a nightmare. Really an embarrassment to their home country. read more

This is the worst airline imaginable. The following occurred on my flight last night from Oakland to Barcelona: 3.5 hour pilot delay, rude crew, non functioning screens, screen had to be left on with a glaring bright orange light, didn't dim lights during the night (would have been offset by the orange screens anyway), my daughter was vomiting in the cabin, and crew would not bring her a bag (can't imagine what health risk this presented to passengers), ran out of toilet paper halfway through the 9 hour flight (also a health risk), allowed an obese passenger to fit into one seat while taking up one half of the next passenger's space. Should have turned away the obese passenger or have them purchase two seats. How can an airline get away with such offenses that present public hazards? read more

Was just told by the sole person who answers calls in the customer service department (only to say he cannot speak substantively) that it is a four week response time for them to respond to customer service requests, which can only be made in writing. They will not discuss a customer service issue over the telephone, period. There is no manager who will take a call. In short, Norwegian Air refuses to provide any avenue for customers with a concern to have a conversation with customer service. I cannot think of any vendor who shuts out their customers like that. Norwegian Air clearly has made a business decision to be non-responsive, opting to be understaffed and to not engage in verbal communications w/ customers. Their prices are just not that low to justify this complete lack of customer responsiveness. read more

These guys need to seriously revamp their customer service practices to get with the times and at least pretend to give a damn....had an issue after an schedule change and they were polite-ish on the phone but then made zero effort to fix it. After a run around and long placements on hold there was no help...when I asked to speak to a supervisor, the rep said "the supervisors don't speak to passengers" (! ) When I asked what the supervisors spent their time doing, they said "reading customer complaints". Well, I guess they must be slow readers, since I sent the issue, in writing, to them 15 days ago and haven't heard a word from them. Very disappointing. read more

I flew Norwegian Air from one of their newest hubs in Ft. Lauderdale, FL to Copenhagen, Denmark back in December on a random, spontaneous, last minute weekend trip to Europe. Prior to this trip I had never heard of this airline until a fellow traveler friend recommended it to me. When you are booking your flight, be sure to check their "Low Fare Calendar" on their website, which will show the cheapest tickets available on each day. When I looked on the website, I was very impressed with their extremely low fares, unlike any i had seen to Europe before, and their top of the line aircraft on the Dreamliner 787. I booked my flight and departed on a Thursday evening headed for Copenhagen. As I had hoped, the aircraft was very modern, there were TVs provided for each guest with a selection of movies to choose from and seats were comfortable (albeit small, but what can you expect in regular class on a plane?). Since the tickets were so cheap, it did not include a meal or checked bags, but again no complaints from me there. One thing that could make this experience better would be wi-fi! Even if we had to pay for it, would be nice to have the option. I was going kind of koo-koo after 9 hours on a plane with no internet. The staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke English well. My flight went smoothly, as did my return to Florida after my short weekend. I was so pleased with this experience, I have already booked a returning flight to go again from Florida and this time to Oslo for a trip this Summer. Highly recommended. read more

1. Be sure to research the crap out of the policies well before your flight. They have strict policies and they are not easy to find. 2. Do not rely on online check in, as it is not available in every airport and you may find this out when it's too late. 3. Airline unyielding. They WILL cancel your flight, even if you're just 4 minutes after check in. I was going to Europe for the first time on my birthday, and was unaware of policies that were different than most airlines. No online check in even though the email that they sent me said "online check in available at most airlines." Check in must be before one hour of departure time for U.S. even though most of the countries they fly from have a 45 minute check-in cut off. We were there 4 minutes after the hour cut off, unable to check in online. We had no bags at all, and could have easily made our flight within 56 minutes, but they would not allow us. I was absolutely devastated! They said to call customer service and reschedule the flight, and the next flight was not for 2 more days!!! The checker refused to call her manager to even ask for an exception because, "she would just say no anyways." So I spent half of my birthday in the airport scrambling to make other extremely inconvenient and pricey accommodations for my Europe trip that I'd been planning for months and had to pay an extra $1,200 (that was getting off easy as most last minute flights to Europe are $2000 +. When I explained my situation to Norwegian customer service asking for a refund in, they refused to escalate the situation. They said there was no one higher up that I could talk to. They never once apologized, or even pretended to care about the terrible situation that I was in. read more

Horrible airline, doesn't offer refunds got to my flight after waiting in their line while it was 9:02 am my flight was at 10 am they did not allow me to board and refused to refund. They don't even have a customer service center and when they booked another flight two days later they added 100 dollars of hidden fees, I wish I could give a negative amount of stars. read more
