First off, the delectable shrimp lay in a bed of flavorful Coleslaw that adds a nice acidity in a fried fluffy taco shell. The shrimp are fried and seasoned to perfection with a slight kick and I'm not sure what the sauce is but it kind of reminds me of like southern yum yum/ spicy mayo sauce lol (sorry if I got it wrong). But the sauce is the banger..I love it so much . Next we got the turkey wing. Now me personally I don't care for turkey wings in general but the crispy skin on it, gives it a harmonious crunch and the spice gets you kickin. They add a side of like hot honey on the side and its a perfect match to the wing. And lastly, we tried the salmon kabob for the first time. It should be a crime to fry salmon thinking it would get overcooked but NO. That salmon was so juicy and tender and the breading was so flavorful and crispy. The breading itself was slightly salty but they used that same yum yum sauce on it and it balanced out the saltiness. It was so good, it fell off the stick. If I wasn't keto, I'd go to him every day no matter where he was but I gotta keep my diet in check But in all honesty I see why he's always so busy. So when we went got engaged, the first place we looked was at Blue Marlin and we were excited to find they offered a catering service! Unfortunately, we can't speak of the quality of the catering because they don't follow up. I myself was a catering manager in a previous career, and gave them the benefit of the doubt that something had gone wrong with their email correspondence when I never received a return communication by email or phone, so I called to follow up. Three MONTHS later, I called and left another message. At this point, I'll assume Blue Marlin is rockin' the city so hard with business they no longer need to offer these services. If this service on longer exists, they should do a better job clearing it off of the Blue Marlin website and Yelp.

I would have given the restaurant five stars just based on his service and the way he made our family feel like we were the most important customers in the restaurant. However, the food is incredible, the entire staff is very pleasant and the venue is gorgeous. Since my family is not from the South, Wil took time to explain the different dishes and even brought us collard greens to try for free. They were amazing! I had the Salmon Pontchatrain with the She Crab soup - delicious!!! My husband had the Trout with the BLT Salad and our son had the Teriyaki Salmon - needless to say we were all trying each other's dishes and enjoying every bite!!!! I tried grits for the first time as well and was very impressed! We also had the Blackout Cake - I don't know how we managed to finish it all but we did. I wished we lived closer to Columbia because we would frequent the Blue Marlin regularly. If you have not tried this restaurant, I strongly encourage you to try it soon - you will be glad you did.
