I like to stop in here every once in a while and I am never disappointed. The bar manager is the hardest working person I have ever seen, and makes everyone feel welcome. Food is always good and comes out fast and prepared as expected. Stephanie is a great bartender! She takes great care of me and the customers at the bar and I am amazed she always asks about something I may have mentioned in a previous visit. She really pays attention and I appreciate that. Surprisingly good food. The haddock and chips is among the best I've had in recent memory. The service is awful. Our waitron apologized profusely and repeatedly for not knowing anything about the menu or basically anything about the food ...in an almost empty restaurant, it took 15 to 20 minutes for her to appear at our table after I went to the bar to ask what was going on. I mainly felt sorry for her, she was clearly untrained. Ambience is your basic Wisconsin sports bar/tavern/warehouse space with a big bar in the middle. It's on the main road between Stillwater and Osceola, and has the best food between either, although the bar for cuisine is pretty low. read more

Whenever I get a chance to travel, I almost always have to try some local food! Came here for lunch yesterday and boy was I in for a treat! Cheese curds- Some of the best cheese-curds I have ever had! The cheese was delicious and the way they batter them, oh boy!! Crunchy and consistent with each bite! Although I am not a local and some might feel my scale for "good cheese curds" maybe skewed, this fat boy sure knows food! Food you can have fun with? Yes! 4 piece broasted chicken meal- Boy was I amazed by this broasted chicken! The skin was light, yet crispy. Normally I like a thick breaded fried chicken, but I was blown away with this. Although this was thinly coated, it had a consistent and satisfying crunch and crisp to it. The seasonings were on point and flavorful. The chicken meat? My gosh it was juicy! So juicy that it put dirty thoughts in my head with each bite kind of juicy. The mashed potatoes were definitely made from scratch. It had that home style chunk and creamy consistency one can appreciate with proper mashed potatoes. Last but not least, the gravy! The scratch made gravy paired with the chicken and mashed potatoes so well. Normally I like to enjoy my chicken with some hot sauce, but for this meal, I ate it straight up and appreciated the work put into this meal. The Caramel Pecan Sticky bun. Oh lord I just died and went to diabeetus heaven. It was unlike anything I have ever had before. They have a soft cinnamon bun, topped with a monster amount of homemade caramel sauce with some chopped pecans. I can't explain how heavenly this was. Each bite was just pure perfection! Next trip I am definitely enjoying two for myself and two more to take home haha. The service was absolutely on point. I did not get our waitresses name, but she was just absolutely a gem to deal with. Very friendly and very attentive. Making sure everything we needed was taken care of and overall pleasant dining experience. She put Me on to their chicken and waffles, so another trip is in order before I leave and whenever I am traveling through again. We drove in from Minneapolis and I must say, WORTH THE DRIVE! Boy was so kind and gentle. Service with a smile. I could tell he was quite socially awkward. He repeatedly asked me to call. I accepted. As he was cooking in the kitchen, he was on call with me the entire shift! I thanked him for cooking my food and left a slight tip for him. He has aqua blue, dirty blonde hair, and a bigger build. The portions are huge, I got a cinnamon roll that was covered in what tasted like a home made quality frosting. Eggs were cooked perfect and the hashbrowns were not overly oily. Chased down for more tip. We had a decent experience with our server, however after we had paid and left a tip the waitress Maddie, who wasn't even out server, chased my family down to confront us on the amount of tip we left, telling us they only make 5 dollars and hour here and that the tip we left wasn't enough. It was incredibly rude and confrontational. I have worked as a server before making the same wage and I was always thankful for whatever amount people could spare. For being out by the Apple River Family Campground this place is great. Both times I've been here the people are accommodating and pleasant and food is good always. Only downfall is bartenders disappear a lot which for people gambling (slots or pull tabs) or just drinking gets pretty annoying & I've seen people walk in and walk out within 10 minutes because of seemingly no one being around read more

I am so disappointed in pretty much everything to do with this business. I have been to both the Somerset and New Richmond location a few times and to be quite frank with you, I wasn't very impressed with either the service or the food. Today I found out how badly the owners / management treat their employees AND customers. I personally seen a comment from the business page telling a customer to "f**k off" because of her bad experience at the Somerset location, with about four other swear words in the comment and then said to "spend your money elsewhere, we don't need it." Also, the owners children were commenting on other people's reviews on their Facebook page being just plain rude. Honestly, just read the reviews for yourself. I am normally not one to leave a review- especially a negative one. However- it is the lack of ownership this business is doing which drove me to this point. I have been here a total of 3 times. I have a good friend who was being the DJ a few times and we came to support him. Since he no longer will be entertaining them- we will not be back. This last time is what set me off. Long story short- I had an almost empty beer can thrown at my face. I was up in the upstairs VIP area and some intoxicated gentleman on the dance floor whipped it up to our area and it hit me in the face. Luckily the only thing to come out of it was sheer embarrassment. HOWEVER- the lack of respect shown by the "security" that night made it clear that this business is anything but a business or that they care about the safety of their customers. The "security" guys were more worried about drinking at the bar during their shift vs addressing the intoxicated idiots. I know that days later nothing can be done about what happened- but I figured they would want to know how their employees handled the situation. The message that I got back from this establishment shows that they are taking zero responsibility for their employees, how they act during their shift and that they have zero respect for their customers. They also completely disregarded what happened to me or the fact that I left because I was not feeling safe. Mind you- this gentleman threw at least 6-7 more beer cans up our way that luckily never made it to us or hurt anyone else. I write this review to show people that this business is not being run how it should and they clearly do not care about you as a customer. If you go there for night life- even though they are not having "wild nights" anymore.. please be careful as the only person or persons looking out for you are yourself and the group you came with. *Oh they also charged our card 3 times as well when we got 1 receipt to sign at the end of the night and only 1 charge matched that receipt...yet they can't have tabs* read more

I've been to this location once, but only to see a band. I wasn't impressed by their service, but they were busy. But after today, I will never go there. I saw the owner's daughter (daughter had access to restaurant's Facebook page) respond to a customer who posted a bad review. The customer said she witnessed a manger yell at an employee in front of everyone. The restaurant said it was the owner yelling at a former employee who went behind the bar. Either way, the daughter told the person who reviewed to f*** off. The daughter and another daughter (Meyer is the last name) have been responding negatively, laughing at people, saying they don't need their money. In the comments, it sounds like the owner is ok with this, but I did not see anything to back that up. One of the daughters did put out an apology and clarification on what happened, but her sisters are still acting unprofessionally. I usually take bad reviews with a grain of salt, either the employees or the customers had a bad day. There was a lack of communication, or a misunderstanding that can happen. I was just here tonight and my boyfriend's food was both burnt and not made to order. When the server, Blake, was asked if the food could be remade or taken off of our bill we were told that the kitchen manager said that could not be done, and that if we did not pay the bill he would call the police. My boyfriend then asked to speak with the kitchen manager or the manager of the restaurant but Blake refused to get either of them and continued arguing with my boyfriend, even threatening to "knock him out" while we were sitting at the table. My boyfriend walked out of the bar to remove himself from the situation and Blake followed him out of the building, cussing at him, threatening him physically and taking pictures of our car saying he would call the police. My boyfriend ended up walking home because I stayed inside waiting at the table for over 15 minutes for the server to come back so that I could pay the bill because I was worried if I left the police would be called. I eventually went up to the bar to try to pay my bill but the bartender told me Blake said "they are done" and refused to let me pay, even though he had just previously threatened to call the police and threatened to physically assault my boyfriend if we did not pay. It was absolutely the worst dining experience I have ever had to endure. I am appalled that this business, let alone any business, would let someone with this type of character represent their business. For your own safety, please stay away from this establishment. read more
