Here are some things I have tried in the past and enjoyed: Southwest Power Bowl, Fried Pickles, and Cheese Curds. I've had a lot of things here over the years. I guess I just never reviewed this place until now. There's an outside patio area where you can look at the river and watch the boats. After you're finished with your meal, as your leaving the marina go straight at the stop sign and park in that parking lot. Take a walk down the trail and check out the old swing bridge. It's a nice view. They also have live music on the patio sometimes and also have corn hole/bean bag toss leagues and competitions. This day I came to have a beer, and enjoy the weather. I had the black and bleu tenderloin salad. It was good, satisfying. Not amazing, but good. The only thing I didn't like was that the steak came out on a skewer. Nothing wrong with it really I just would have preferred it in the salad so I didn't have to pull it off the skewer. I also ordered the fried pickles which I have had before but enjoy very much. They are very cheesy but I think the pickle balances the cheese out or something. Usually if something is really cheesy like that it kind of grosses me out, but this doesn't. As I sat enjoying my beer and food, I overheard the guy at the neighboring table say that this place has his favorite Bloody Mary/the best Bloody Mary he said, (except for the casino, he said that one is good too, not sure what casino but hey). I have a different opinion on their Bloody Mary. It is not my favorite. When I had it in the past, I thought it was watered down, lacking flavor, but maybe it was just that day. Who knows! However my mom tried one of the coffee cocktails at the same visit and had a similar experience. So, I just stick to beer when I come here. read more

Went for dinner and music on the patio, but moved inside because of the bees. Big mistake! The ambiance was your typical marine pub with the exception of what appeared to be a regular who was very loud, foul mouthed and quite obnoxious. Even though the food is good and the service friendly we won't return. I feel sorry for the staff that have to put up with such a crude, foul, loud patron. Either you're going to know of this place if you spend a fair amount of time on the Mississippi on the St. Paul neck of the river. So, Obviously located on the river by the Marina in S. St. Paul, this restaurant has docks for you to pull up while you are enjoying your day or night on the river. There is indoor seating and patio seating available. The menu is by and large bar food with an average selection of beer offerings. They also have a full bar if you are interested in a cocktail. Usually I don't stray off the menu for anything unique in these places. So we ordered burgers and wings. The burgers are cooked on a flat top just north of medium. the burgers had a good crust on them but still a little pink in the middle so they hit the mark. we definitely liked our burgers. the same thing with wings. we ordered the wings with a dry rub and buffalo sauce on the side. They were certainly plenty good. The only disappointing thing was there was an issue with their thermostat for the tap beer. I didn't care for any of their canned/bottled beers, so I had a 60 degree IPA. It wasn't the worst, but oh well. If I am hungry and nearby, I'd eat here, but it is not a destination place unless you are on the river. read more

I wanted to try a spot with dining on the Mississippi. Found this place. It was hot out, but turned out to be just as hot inside. Waitress took our drink order. Daughter had ordered a kiddy cocktail and was brought a Coke. At some point, a girl came up to us, she looked drunk, and said our waitress had forgotten our order and could we repeat it, which we did. Then the waitress came back and asked us again and disappeared. We waited and finally my husband went and got her. Youngest ordered a Caesar salad, which she had to repeat 3x. We moved outside as it was cooler than inside. Orders arrived and youngest given a Caesar wrap. We sent it back. It came back as obviously the wrap unwrapped and tossed in a bowl. Asked them to make new one. Never saw our server. The other three meals were good. The view of the river was nice. Overall, very disappointed with the service. read more

This is one of the best places you could ask for on the river. The patio has an amazing view of the river and the marina. The bar is always a lot of fun with plenty of social people. We were there for peak time on a Friday night, so it wouldn't be unusual for the food to take over an hour. But I didn't see servers coming and going often from the kitchen. The waitress didn't come very often to check, nor did she apologize or keep us informed of the situation every now and then. What the real kicker was happened at bill paying time. I handed my card to her after she flashed a receipt. It was $99. But when she came back, the total $157! I demanded an itemization, which she didn't provide at first. She came back and chuckled and said she accidentally added the table next to us' bill. She only chuckled and did not apologize. I've never had that happen. Maybe they're short staffed. I really like the neighborhood atmosphere and the chance to hang with locals on a large clean patio. The food is above average taste, quality and value for pub fare. However the drinks are quite pricey, $4-5 beers and $7-$8 for mixed drinks. Food service is somewhat slow but the staff is very friendly. They seem to have a good set of happy hour specials and other deals to attract a crowd. View is a nice and the bean bag toss right by the water is a plus. read more

My husband and I stopped in to try and get dinner on Friday 1/10/2020 around 6pm, the sign said seat yourself so we did. Waited over 10 minutes and had servers walk past us multiple times without any acknowledgement whatsoever. It was not busy, only a 3 tables had diners at them. I was so annoyed we left. I had a Groupon so we tried again today and ate around 3pm. The fish taco was really good, so were the chips. My son loved his Pepperoni pizza. Our daughter had the grilled cheese which was good. The kids meal included hand cut fries which were really good, but there was a super tiny portion maybe 4 or 5 small pieces. My husband had the burger which he said wasn't great, tasted like a frozen patty you might buy in bulk at Sam's Club. The biggest difference this time was the service, our server who was also working the bar was super friendly, quick to great us and suggested the fish taco. Terrible. We waited over an hour for our food. I ordered the fish and chips and the fish was greasy and heavy. The fries were soggy and scarce. My husband ordered the Philly cheesesteak was ok but the onion rings were bland and soggy. Our server forgot about us, didn't refill waters, didn't apologize for the delay and took forever to fulfill any request. Pub food is pub food (this was mediocre at best- I mean we were starving so) but after the delay, poor service we will not be back. Ever. read more

We went for bloodies and breakfast which was overall a good experience and it was good tasting food. We found out that our first bloodies were actually free with breakfast on Saturday's and Sunday's. Three of us got the Juevos Rancheros which we all thought was great. Their mini donuts were really good too - soft and delicious. Do not come here. We initially sat in the bar area as we were waiting for a table. The bartender was extremely rude and then made it very hard to close the tab and move to a table. When we got to a table the server came over after about 20 minutes and said we needed to order right away. After over an hour our food came and it was very cold and not appetizing. We told the food runner that the food was cold and she got very offensive saying that it was our fault because we put in our order to late. We then told our server to which she replied okay. When it came to get our checks we asked again if there was anyway we could get a discount or have something comped as not many of us ate our meals. She asked if we were refusing to pay which we replied no but did nothing to correct the problem.
