His workers were efficient, professional and friendly! Having an aging home, I will definitely be working with Ahmad & AR General Contracting again!! A R General Contracting, based in Manassas, boasts a talented, honest, flexible, and humble owner…read morededicated to building a trusted and sought-after business. With over seven years of experience and hundreds of satisfied customers, it's clear why they are so highly regarded. They completely remodeled my kitchen, repaired problems behind the baseboard in the living room, removed two built-ins, a closet and a short wall between the living room and the foyer, replaced lighting, painted and laid LVP flooring throughout all three areas. The owner's creativity shines through in their innovative ideas. For instance, they significantly transformed the living room by removing the built-ins and connecting wall, creating a spacious and open layout. This was a game-changer for me, and I would not have thought of it myself. When they finished, new LVP flooring covered every surface, and the walls were painted to perfection. A doorway between the kitchen and the garage was widened, and a new door installed. The closet and built-ins in the living room were completely removed, and all new cabinetry, a double wall oven, refrigerator, cooktop, sink, and pot lights were installed in the kitchen. The backsplash was exactly what I wanted. It is absolutely beautiful. To ensure a seamless match, the owner and their crew showed up with some used light fixtures from their warehouse, providing them at no cost. I will have them back to install new light fixtures in the living room when I have the funds. Amazingly, A R General Contracting completed the entire project in just three weeks! The owner's daily presence and the dedication of their crew ensured that every detail was meticulously executed. AR General Contracting does not start a job and then disappear to work on another job. They stay on the job until it is completed. Their prices are very fair. Payments are made along the way in a very reasonable sequence. There were no subcontractors - - they have all their bases covered with professionals on board. They can do anything that has to do with your renovation, plumbing, electrical work, painting, etc.. This was my first experience having renovations done and I was blessed to find A. R. General Contracting. We all have heard horror stories about working with contractors doing renovations. If you are thinking about renovating or doing anything else to your home, I would advise you to reach out to A. R. General Contracting and talk to them about your job. They are absolutely outstanding! Website: https://argeneralcontractingllc.com

Not a fan at all. My…read morebasement had flooding issues and when I tried to bring this to my elderly parents' attention, they somehow decided to finish the basement, despite the musty smell and this seasonal flooding for 20 years. I was hoping that maybe Hivex would identify this issue and maybe back me up on this point before they fully converted it to a rentable living space. But they didn't. We then got a huge rain which left visible signs of flooding and standing water on the basement floor. When I told my Dad, he said it was due to Hivex mopping the floor. I was certain that Hivex would help clear this up and attribute the water to the recent storms. They didnt--they confirmed (lied?) to my dad that it was due to their mopping a few days prior. So then they started installing the framing for the drywall, despite the smell and standing water. I knew the project was doomed at this point because once the drywall went up, that moisture would be sealed off behind it and the mold would just flourish. That's when we got the biggest storm in Spring of 2025 which resulted in catastrophic flooding of the basement, leaving zero doubt about the flooding. (This is also a common-sense issue in our area, which has heavy clay soil). We hired a basement moisture company to deal with the seasonal flooding but we had to remove the framing to install the dewatering trench at the base of the wall. At this point, they were really behind schedule. The price was outrageous. Over $80K. My friend just finished his basement and oversaw the drywall, electrical work, cabinetry, etc. He did his basement, which is larger, for around $20,000. The mark up was huge and I was really expecting more. Hivex is for people who love to spend money. Little things they missed: 1. Basement door will not lock and the GC never coordinated with the basement moisture people as to who's fault this was. I thought the GC was supposed to solve things like this and not let things fall through the cracks? 2. Ceiling fan is supposed to reverse during the cold months. This feature is broken which really sucks in the winter time, when all the warmth stays on the ceiling. 3. Faucet was really loose and I had trouble correctly tightening it. Frustrating for a few weeks as it gradually loosened and I had to keep fixing it. 4. The reverse pump for the bathroom was not even sealed. There was a visible gap on the lid of this device and the smell was AWFUL for a few weeks. My aging parents cant smell anything so they just said I was crazy. After a few weeks of this smell, they finally had someone come to seal it. This worker seemed very honest and he said it was bad they missed this. Nasty Hivex. 5. They have really bad deals and poor quality when it comes to their cabinetry and kitchen design options. (Cheap stuff designed to maximize profits). They also refuse to work with whatever company you went with for the cabinets/hardware/faucet. Again, whats the point of the GC if they arent coordinating with everyone? We went with IKEA and it was SO chaotic and horrible. Its basically an automated company at this point.

I had them do the full kitchen renovation (new cabinets, counters, OTR microwave + reinstallation of appliances). And then followed up with a bundle discount to add in new carpet for the entire place. Replacing missing carpet on first floor and the whole upstairs. I believe the price was still outstanding for what I got. They subcontract out the work, but they get discounts from their subcontractors which they pass on to you. Everyone I worked with throughout the whole process (well, I have no complaints) they all did excellent and I felt comfortable the whole way. (Lastly) he has followed up afterwards to help with handyman tasks and some minor touch up tasks. I believe the price for those all still great. I recommend Dominic and crew from Green and Gold for any and all projects. Def very happy I found them. I will be going to them first for pretty much any home repair needs going forward. Thanks Dominic!!

The job cutting around windows, trim, and ceiling was exceptional. Total pros, thank you.
