This trip inspired me to take the extra step and leave a review because I tend to order via DoorDash and I really wanted to order a chocolate covered strawberry Bundtlet for my bestie and it wasn't listed there. When I called and confirmed they were in stock. I spoke to a rep who assured me she'd swap out my order and give me the cake I desired. Well, that didn't happen. My delivery came and it was NOT the chocolate covered strawberry cake. I called to explain and was politely offered to come pick up the correct option, free of charge. This location turned my Christmas eve into a nightmare. I placed on December 23 for pickup on December 24 at 2:00 PM. At the time of placing my order, there was no notice or indication that the bakery location I selected would be closing at 2:00 PM. In fact, the website allowed later pickup times for that same day, which suggested the location would remain open beyond 2:00 PM. Due to traffic, I arrived after 2:00 PM and found the bakery closed. There were multiple other customers outside as well who were unable to retrieve their orders for the same reason. No phone call or notification was made to alert customers of the early closing time, particularly those who had pickup times scheduled at or after 2:00 PM. On December 26, two days after the scheduled pickup, I received a call from the bakery stating that my cake was available for pickup. This was the first communication I received regarding the issue. I returned the call and spoke with Makenzie, explaining that I was never informed--either online or by phone--that the bakery would be closing at 2:00 PM, and that the website continued to accept pickup orders for that day despite the early closure. Unfortunately, the conversation was unproductive. I was told that the website information was accurate at the time of ordering and, I was informed that a refund could not be processed. When I asked for corporate contact information, I was told to "Google it," which I found unprofessional and disappointing. I have been a returning customer for several years and have never experienced an issue like this before. The lack of communication on a high-volume day such as Christmas Eve was extremely disheartening. Not all bakery locations in Atlanta closed at the same time, and had I been properly informed, I would have scheduled an earlier pickup time. Given that the product has now been sitting for two days and the circumstances surrounding the pickup failure were due to inaccurate information and lack of notification, I am requesting a full refund for my $38 purchase from the bakery. I am not sure how long it's been there because it's tucked on the back side of the plaza, hidden from the street. This location is on Moreland in the same plaza as Wylie and Rum. The cakes are magnificent.... Super moist! My favorite flavor is white chocolate raspberry, but red velvet is a close second. There are different sizes - standard bunt cake, bundlet (perfect for one person), bundtini (minis sold by the dozen). If you sign up for the loyalty program you get a free bundlet on your birthday! Great customer service... I stopped by today and was kinda bummed to notice they'd just closed. Venue and Atmosphere The store is bright and inviting, with cakes front and center on display. Lots of accessories are available, such as greeting cards and cake cutting kits, so it can be a one stop shop. Service The woman who took my order (I did not catch her name) was exceptionally sweet and helpful. Food and Beverages I ordered a bundlet tower, complete with ribbon and a sunflower. City of Atlanta finally has a Nothing Bundt Cakes and they are serving up some delicious cakes. Easy to place your order online and customize your cake. Service is excellent, served with a smile and extremely friendly. Free parking and easy to locate. Cakes are beautifully packaged and looks exactly like the stock photos. The vanilla pound cake I ordered for my moms birthday was very moist and the icing was the perfect level of sweetness; honestly one of the best cakes I've had. I am so glad that we now have a NBD location on this side of town. I've always gone to the Sandy Springs location when I'm craving one so this saves my time going there. The store is just so cute and lively. I've never had a bad cake here but my favorites are red velvet, strawberries and cream (which I did get during this trip) and Oreo (their current seasonal flavor). I don't think anyone noticed me when I walked in so it took about 5 mins for the staff that someone was waiting but that just gave me enough time to figure out what bundtlet cake I wanted. These little cakes are overrated. They have a serious aftertaste. I've tried all of the flavors, and it's the same for each. A Piece of Cake is 10 times better. What bothers me is that I was told at the Moreland location that they couldn't give me a spoon or fork to eat my $8.00 cupcake. Which was puzzling because they had spoons and little plates for sale. SEPARATELY! Her reasoning was that if they gave me a free one, then they would be considered a restaurant and not a bakery by state law. I've never in life heard such BS. Is this a law??? Someone, please explain this fuckery. Also, the point system is antiquated, who keeps up with paper cards anymore. They could easily install a phone number system, but they know this, and it keeps them from having to give out any free merchandise. Don't fall for the hype. read more
