Came here a few weekends ago because I wanted a full spa-day experience after a few stressful weeks at work. I ended up going with an hour massage, a mani/pedi, and a haircut. Scheduling was easy- I stopped by a few days before, explained what I wanted, and they were able to get me scheduled. I walked in on the day of my appointment, and we got started with no wait. All of the ladies here are so friendly and so inviting. As soon as I walked in the door I was offered water and wine. One thing to mention is that they do hair and makeup for weddings. On the day of my appointment they were doing hair and makeup for a wedding party in house, so it got a little loud. They let me know that they had booked a wedding when I was scheduling my appointment, so I knew what I was getting myself into. Up first was the massage with Cynthia. Cynthia has the hands of an angel. Before getting started, she asked me some questions about my back health, and we discussed my massage history and massage preferences. I feel like she was able to give me exactly what I was looking for. It was so relaxing, there were a few times where I almost actually fell asleep. If you're looking for a really good massage in the Jamestown/ Chautauqua area, give Cynthia a call; you won't regret it. After the massage, came the mani/pedi and haircut with Marla. Marla is truly a gem. From the moment I met her, I knew we were going to get along just fine. She really made me feel like I was part of the family here. Mani/ pedi were relaxing, and came out exactly as expected. Color selection was a little limiting, but if you're all about the classics- nudes, reds, and navy/black, you won't have any trouble picking a color. On to the haircut... I have incredibly thick hair- the kind of hair that could easily cover 2 heads. Marla didn't hesitate for even a second, knew how to work with it, and gave me a cut that was just what I wanted. All in all I had a great, relaxing day. If you're in the market for any of the above services, Nouveau is worth a visit. Bridal: I chose a basic hair and make-up package with a trial. Lauralee suggested I needed a Consultation, I'm out of town and on a budget so I wasn't going to pay extra for a service I didn't need. Lauralee came back and said it was a "requirement," even though it's listed on a "other services" page along with manis, pedis, etc. and not part of any package. Then, this why I ran- Their form clearly states they only travel within 25 mi radius, which my venue is well within (16 mi). She claims ROUNDTRIP my venue is 32 mi therefore, I would be charged extra! For only a 20 min drive!??? Also, I was required to pay for an assistant simply because they had one available. I'm one bride with a simple hair and makeup, I don't need a team. I would have been willing to work with them but I felt that they were hiding multiple fees, and demanding I pay for more than what I was ordering. My communication with the salon was standard at first, worked with their coordinator Lauralee who told me she is the reason they have a bridal beauty business, the business "grew" after she "took over that portion." She promptly sent me several emails with contract, bridal packages, and additional services. I chose my package, sent in deposit with the contract. I confirmed the details via email with her, I expect full transparency of pricing so I know what I'm getting into. I don't want to be shelling out hundreds of dollars the day of my wedding. It all went downhill from there. Their pricing for "other services" suddenly became "requirements," and she added additional pricing, claiming what I chose was just the base price for everything and it grew from there.
