Waterfalls into the abyss, hidden ice caves, lakes of deep aqua blue... and it goes on and on in every direction. Completely insane! Do yourself a favor and book this trip. The rest was transportation/waiting for train/etc. Prices are high, but the experience is pretty amazing. It's hard to do activities or get up close to glaciers without assistance/guides. The group to guide ratio is low so you're definitely safe. I love the energy from the guides. They know what they're doing and they are so enthusiastic about it. During the trip, my companion fell into the snow, and the guide showed little concern or compassion. What made the experience worse was what happened afterward. After I posted a negative review on Google, the business owner falsely claimed that I had never toured with them and even resorted to personal insults. I later noticed that the company responds to every negative review across platforms in a similarly confrontational way. They frequently justify their behavior by saying they are a "small family business," but that does not excuse dismissing legitimate safety concerns or attacking customers. If anything goes wrong during your trip, be prepared for this company to deny responsibility as if they are not grown-ups.

Unexpectedly, we ended up being the only guests as others had backed out. We started out of Seward with a nice trip from Anchorage with Joan and Jeff as our shuttle team. They were both very personable and a pleasure to make the trip with to Seward. We were greeted with champagne and quickly got underway. Our accommodations were exactly as described in the Master suite. After two days of being wined and dined, we finally had to say, the "food is amazing, but we don't eat this much in a day. We need to slow down on the amount" LOL Certainly all you could possibly eat and nicely prepared. En En set beautiful tables for every meal and and our wine glasses were never dry. The weather was not the best for the first few days, so with everyone's agreement, we decided to roll the dice and cross the Gulf of Alaska to head towards Whittier. At that point, the weather became amazing, we did kayaking and had a 13,000 year old cocktail (Bourbon on Glacier ice). Who knew we would go to Alaska to get a tan? We spent the entire time cruising out on the deck getting sun. Captain Al and his team were wonderful hosts. I guess I could address every complaint that has been posted, but I'm not going to give it much credibility by spending any time on it. Yes, the boat is not brand new, but we had no issues on board (except the battery, but that's a little joke between Captain Al and us.). I can't speak to any of the other accommodations because we did not see or use them, but there were absolutely no complaints with ours. The site includes a small gift shop and a private gravel parking lot. The kennel visit was $49/p, kennel visit + dog sled ride was $119/p. Matthew Failor, an actual competitor in Alaska's "Superbowl", owns this school along with his wife and 2 dog handlers. He includes a thorough history of Iditarod in the package. What I loved the most is that despite us only purchasing the kennel tour, we pretty much got as long as we wanted to play with each of the 30 or so champion hounds and 4 pups! The staff were so incredibly passionate, they knew each and every dog and their personalities! Tips: wear comfortable clothing, the dogs are huggers. If you go in the pen with the pups, don't wear anything that could attract teething :) be prepared to have your heart stolen!

We probably got to the falls after about 5 minutes and they were beautiful! Great hike and our 6 year old could handle it. In some places the trail is a bit close to the ledge, but as long as you're paying attention you shouldn't have any problems. Definitely recommend this hike.

This is a great peak to try if you want a long hike that never gets very difficult (you don't have…read moreto use your hands). The "quick" way is to start at South Fork Eagle river trail: https://www.yelp.com/biz/south-fork-eagle-river-trail-anchorage After you reach the lakes you'll want to veer right around Symphony lake and gain that ridge. You then take that ridge all the way up to the summit of Triangle. Or, you can hike on South Fork for about 1 mile. There, you will come to a junction where you can gain Rendezvous Ridge (https://www.yelp.com/biz/arctic-valley-rendezvous-peak-trail-anchorage). You take this up to the top of the ridge on your right and ride this ridge all the way to the summit. There's a lot of up and down, so it's going to take a lot more time going this route, but it's worth it. You get 360 degree Chugach views the entire time. The views of Eagle and Symphony lakes from the ridge are even better than they are down on the normal trail. You'll likely see Dall Sheep near the summit, the love this area. I was "herding" them for the last 2 miles to the summit. Getting to the summit involves some easy scrambling. There's a summit register where you can write your name, proving you made it. There are excellent views of Cantata Peak (review pending) to the north. When I was there, a storm was rolling in, creating a nice drizzle and lots of rainbows!

Whether you like this campground or not depends on what you're looking for. If proximity to…read moreAnchorage, easy access to salmon fishing and easy trails, and safety in numbers are important to you, then this is a winner. Relative to a lot of other campsites with fishing access, the likelihood of bear encounters is SOMEWHAT less due to its direct proximity to the highway, and nominal greenway for bears to hide in. There's a small buffer of trees between the highway and the campground, so bears have adequate space to sneak up if they're so inclined (this is Alaska, after all) so the highway noise is noticeable from all of the campsites. (I did a very thorough walk through of the campground and the perimeter and found evidence of one black bear who appeared to be "passing through"). The only site you may not notice the sound of the highway would be the Beluga cabin, which backs up against the train tracks. Some campers may find trainsounds bothersome. I happen to like train noises, (I grew up 2 blocks from train tracks), but if the honking bothers you DO NOT CAMP HERE since the tracks are REALLY CLOSE. They have to honk to warm idiots that walk on the tracks. Alaskans and tourists alike seem to like to tempt fate and play chicken with the train. A few points to note- there's only one bear box for the whole campground. I find this REALLY IRRITATING, but a common theme at a lot of Alaskan campgrounds, despite the pleas to keep our campsites food and fragrance free. (Grrrr please supply more flipping bear boxes!!!!) There are 3 pit toilets; one dumpster ; you can pay with cash, check or credit card (there's an electronic pay station); the 2 cabins have to be paid for in advance on line; the campsite is within cell/internet service; in 2022 there is NO camp host which means the toilets are getting minimal servicing so BRING YOUR OWN TOILET PAPER (ans SANITIZER if you're a germiphobe like me), so be sure you have the firewood you need prior to arrival. You should bring your own drinking and washing water as well; the handpump here is the worst I've ever used and is need if some serious maintenance. It requires the strength if two men to get going- I think it needs to be oiled??? The water is gross anyway- better to get your washing water from a creek before arrival and brink bottle or tap water for drinking. Some of the sites do NOT accommodate tents due to the gravel and lack of trees. All the RV spots are back in, none are pull-through. The campground has a nice nature trail and connects with a paved bike trail. You can walk to the salmon fishing site down the street. There is also a village gas station, bar, motel, and two small restaurants within plus or minus a mile of the campground. For me, this campground is convenient given its proximity to Anchorage, although I think 20 bucks a night is a little steep given there's no host. I saw a lot of other Anchoragites of the same mind. We'll probably be back.

There are trees throughout the grounds, so there is a feeling of privacy. Great for both tent or RV camping. Location is beautiful with lots of site seeing close by. I saw beluga whales! It is easy to locate from the highway as it's the turn at the only overhead light in any direction for a LONG ways. Directly across the street is a gas station to pop in for ice or snacks or fuel.

All dive organizations pride themselves in making sure that your local dive shop teaches verbatim what their standards are. This shop takes dive teachings from different organizations and makes their own to teach their students. G.U.E and P.A.D.I. should not be combined!!! They are going to get someone killed!!! Never, ever go there!!! Be safe, find somewhere else to go!!! Prices are also ridiculous and they markup there products 110%.

Alex walked me through all the certifications and all the steps to diving. He reassured me of the changes from a wet suit to a dry suit and all the add-ons that would come with that. He went through prices and told me about the discounts I could earn if I was to bundle certifications together. I am excited to set up my certifications and get some dives recorded in Alaska.
