Absolute horrible bussiness! Such rude workers that don't care about customer service AT ALL. They have no satisfaction guarantee for their customers and offer absolutely no type of refund for their wrong doings and messing up peoples hair! Horrible! I went to Tatum yesterday hoping for a trim to even out a prior cut that I had grown out. I agreed to a change and a "mid neck" cut. I told her my hair was curly and wavy and I wanted to keep it as much length as possible. She told me we would go slow so there were "no surprises." She ended up cutting the back first and then by the time she got to the front she cut the length in one quick cut. I sat in the chair in shock. She blow dried it straight, and it was barely at my chin. I left the appointment freaked out. Came home and looked into the mirror. It's is not even chin length. I showed her pictures of mid neck and we agreed mid neck. I called the salon and she already left for the day. She called me back this morning. I told her I was so confused about what it happened because we agreed on mid neck and now I have hair that's almost at my ears. She said there's no way that's possible and that she definitely cut my hair mid-neck. Nope. I told her it is definitely not even close to my neck it is chin length at best if it's flat ironed and it is not what I wanted, asked for, or agree to. She kept denying saying there's no way it's chin length and that she knows she cut it and neck. I asked for a refund and she said they do not issue a refund and that there's nothing they can do to help me. She told me to "just let it go, girl." So I paid $70 to have my hair butchered and they could care less. She messed up, and isn't admitting to it, and won't refund me. Obviously, there's no way to fix this as it's already several inches shorter than what I agreed to. If I could give the salon one star I would, especially regarding the customer service. Tatum is the manager and so there's no one above her that I can go to. I am very upset at how they treat their customers. Especially when I called with my concern immediately. read more

I want it a haircut and color. She recommended to do (partial) highlights instead. So she did the highlights and wash my hair. During the haircut and dry I wasn't looking because I was getting something different and I was excited. Well the haircut is perfect. I love it. The highlights...... I had them done before..... these weren't partial highlights. Have some on the sides but none on the back. Faith took care of me. She was so nice and sweet I didn't had the heart to complain. Also she's only been there since July. So I don't think she has to much experience doing highlights. But this wasn't cheap, so far a wash and haircut it was way too expensive. I hate to leave a bad review but when you pay a lot of money to have your roots and highlights done and leave the salon TWICE in one day with orange hair I do not recommend this business. I am so frustrated right now! I walked in for my appointment & was greeted and walked back to the chair. My stylist, Emma, took one look at me and said "ughh, it's been a minute huh?", while holding up my hair. Well, it has because of COVID and we recently moved down to Texas so my hairstylist of 10 years can no longer do my hair regularly (she lives in KC). She then starts picking at me hair and asking what I want. I said my PLAN is to go platinum eventually. She tells me it's going to be a process and there's no way I will walk out of here with my hair as blonde as I want it. I agreed with her, and said I just didn't want it to look orange or not match the bottom. She tells me that it probably will and proceeds to talk to me like I'm clueless and that hair has to go through stages and such. She also told me she would not color my top half the same blonde as what my ends look like. So my hair is just going to be mismatched?! The way she talked to me made me feel very uncomfortable and I felt that she was extremely rude. Emma tells me that she simply will not do the blonde color I'm looking for because it will kill my hair. Her specific words were, "your hair is very fine and already pretty damaged, and you like having hair right?". My hairstylist in KC has gotten me from extremely dark brown to platinum, and never talked to me in that way or given me a hairstyle that I hate. We talked back and forth for a bit about what to do and finally agreed on full highlights. She then asked if I wanted a cut & I looked at my ends and agreed that I needed a trim because I hadn't gotten one in almost a year. With a disgusting look on her face she grabs a piece of my hair and says, "yeah, you really need one". She goes to check the computer to see how much the total will be and comes back quoting $265!! I asked why it was so much because I had my hair done at that same salon before and never paid that much. She then tells me that she has been doing hair for almost 5 years, so she gives out "master stylist" prices. I told her that my hairstylist in KC has been doing hair for 20 and I have NEVER paid that much. The salon she works at is way nicer than NOVA too. And how does not even 5 years make you a master stylist?! Lol. I got up and walked out. It had absolutely nothing to do with the price, it was her entire attitude. Learn how to TALK TO PEOPLE. I am writing this review not as a customer but as the daughter of a customer. This place literally left my 68 year old mother in tears and could not have cared less! My mom had a 2pm (she had gone in for a consult two weeks prior and was told it would take about an hour to do what she wanted done) appointment on a Saturday to get her hair styled for a wedding later that evening. She had made the appointment two weeks prior. She arrived 5 minutes early to 4 stylists working and no one at the desk to answer phones or greet customers. She was not greeted until 2:10pm. At 2:15, she asked how much longer it would be as she needed to be leaving at 3:00 (she has chin length hair and just wanted it curled). Her stylist told her she would not be done with her current client for another 15-20 minutes meaning, she would not even be able to start on my mom's hair until 2:30-2:45 (30-45 minutes after her appointment). This was not going to work as my mom needed to be leaving the salon at 3pm. She left in tears and called me crying as she was devastated that she was not going to be able to get her hair done before the wedding. I ended up going to my mom's house, where she was still crying when I arrived, to do her hair for her. This is an inexcusable lack of customer service on Nova's part. I under stand salons run late at times but when you are running 30-45 minutes late, you first and foremost need to call your clients with appointments scheduled later that day to give them a heads-up. Had they done this, my mom could have possibly made other arrangements. Also, you should probably schedule less clients throughout the day as you are clearly not capable of handling the number of appointments you book! Again, you extreme lack of regard for your clients' time and atrocious customer service are inexcusable! Ladies, if you have a special event, DO NOT depend on these people to follow through on the services you have booked with them. I had been going to see Tatum for a few sessions. I was always satisfied with my hair but never blown away with it especially for the price! But I continued to see her for my touchups cause it's hard to find a hair girl who does a decent job & having to get to know someone all over again is annoying. SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!! I went in to get a full set of highlights and was given the worst service. My hairstylist mentioned the poor job my previous hair stylist did at blending my hair and said she would make sure to really "blend" my highlights so that I wouldn't have any harsh lines like before. Yet she left a terrible line across my hairline. I got a really ugly orange color in my hair (which was not a problem the first time I got my hair done), not even purple shampoo would help and the toner she applied on my hair did nothing. The hairstylist charged me for a balayage (which I did not receive) when I had specified that I wanted a full set of high lights. It was far more than what was on her page and because of the system being down I did not get a receipt. I contacted her about the cost and the poor job she did and all she said was that because of the 3 day redo policy I would have to come in within those three days. She was aware about my hectic work schedule and that I was flying out of the state that same week so I could not go in during those three days. I tried contacting her manager and the owner of the salon and after many attempts I was only able to get ahold of the manager which said that because of the 3 day redo policy the least they could do was apply a toner (which clearly didn't work the first time and wouldn't get rid of the harsh lines). The manager and the owner's least concern was that I paid lots of money to walk around with a straight line across my hair. I asked for a partial refund due to the poor cosmetic and management services that I received so that I could get my hair fixed else where and they refused. I regret not looking through these reviews before. The hairstylist told me that if I went in to get a haircut and paid for the cut, she would fix her mistakes and "not charge me for those services" without telling anybody about it (including her boss) which I thought was ridiculous considering I had already paid so much money. So many one star reviews, many unhappy customers, poor management, terrible business skills, bad employees, poor cosmetic services, and the owner still refuses to prioritize her clients and the seriousness of their terrible experiences! read more

Worse salon experience EVER! I made an appointment 2 weeks ago for a wash and style (soft swirls on my chin length, fine hair) at 2:00 pm on Saturday. This was an important appointment for me because it was for a wedding Saturday evening. I arrived at 1:50 pm. Their phone was ringing while I was waiting, no one to answer it. Someone finally came up to the counter at 2:10 pm. I spoke to the stylist who happened to be the one assigned to me. She said she had another 15 -20 mins before she would be finished with her current customer. I told her I had to be leaving the salon at 3:00 pm, that was the reason I made the appt for 2:00 pm. She said she could not guarantee she would be finished by that time. I went home crying, this was SO important to me! I will never frequent this salon again! read more

almost a year ago I was charged almost $1,000 for 16 inch hair extensions!! It's beyond frustrating looking back, i was taken advantage of, heavily. The BABE hair extensions are the lowest quality of hair too. My natural hair was only an inch or two shorter than the extensions themselves. You couldn't even tell a difference in length but she recommended 16 inches even though I told her I wanted the length to go below my chest. Ended up hardly reaching the middle of my chest. My tracks were ALWYAS showing and I couldn't style my hair or put it up w out the tracks showing. She cut the weft into three lengths and layered it in my hair so of course it was noticeable no matter how i styled my hair. I went back a few months later to get the rest of the "extra hair" we didn't use.. and it was laying out freely in her drawer... not in a bag, not in a separate storage container. Imagine spending almost 1k on hair and seeing it loose in a drawer after months... Nicole was a sweet girl but just thinking about this experience from almost a year ago STILL upsets me. I LOVE NOVA HAIR STUDIO! The first time I came across Nova or even heard about them was because a friend referred me to them to get my hair done--at the time I was looking to get a beach wave done to my hair as I had been so so sick of the stick straight hair I have had forever and really wanted some more body and volume to it. I had done so much research and so much looking around about the beach wave, how it's done, and where to get it at the most reasonable price as it's definitely not something that is extremely cheap. I knew I would have to shell out some money for it but good gracious--some salons are complete highway robbery! And here begins the story of when I found Nova. :) I first looked online, and then just decided to call and ask about pricing. If I remember correctly they started at $65 just for the beach wave not including cut and went up depending on length and thickness of your hair. Now let me tell you--this was AT LEAST $40 cheaper if not more than what I had seen at other salons! That is a BIG whopping difference if you ask me! Over the phone, I booked my consultation with Becky who is no longer with them to see what my hair was like and to give me a quote based on my hair type. I believe with everything, wash, beach wave service, cut, and style my grand total came into just a little under $100! Another great plus was I had one of their awesome 20% off coupons for a chemical service and that also knocked it down considerably! Since having my first beach wave experience with Becky, I have had two more done by different lovely ladies at the salon just because I love them so much. With my 3rd beach wave I did run into a bit of a mishap with it and I contacted Barbie the owner the next day and she was able to get me in ASAP to fix the damage. I have been so impressed with the customer service this salon has given me time and time again and have always been happy with how my hair looked after a service. With that said, ever since Barbie was the one who saved my hair that day I have been going to her to do my hair. This past month I went back to Nova for the first time since my last Beach Wave and decided to take a break from them and just get a normal cut to let my hair relax from the chemicals for a while. I honestly hadn't had an actual haircut with my straight hair in roughly 1.5-2 years when she cut it this past time so I felt like I had an idea of what I wanted but really wasn't all that clear with Barbie from the beginning. As Barbie was finishing up we realized I had a different cut in mind than she had and I felt SO bad for the miscommunication on my part because she had just spent more than an hour cutting it one way only after realizing that it wasn't what I had in mind at all! I showed her the picture that I wanted it to look like again and she quickly cut to fix it the way I was wanting it all the while I am profusely apologizing her for confusing her with all the pictures I had shown her. Haha! She went more on the conservative side in the back and gave me a low stack and I left happy with it! I messaged Barbie about a day later and asked her if she wouldn't mind cutting it shorter in the back (and also had finally mustered the courage to go shorter, I was so scared originally, I didn't want to look weird! lol) because I knew it would grow out extremely fast and thought it would look so good shorter too. She was so completely gracious to me and I set up another time for me to come in a couple of days later for her to kind of hike it up some more. Pretty much she ended up completely re-doing my hair a whole lot differently because I asked her to and she was so happy to do it. I honestly am not high maintenance when it comes to stuff, but I just felt so bad for changing everything up YET AGAIN and being so indecisive but she has honestly been the most wonderful and patient person with me! I have never been so impressed by anyone who has ever cut my hair--Barbie takes her time and is extremely precise and I don't mind that at all. I would rather have someone take their time on my hair and be efficient than be extremely fast and miss a bunch of things and come out with a crazy un-even haircut. I left that salon feeling like a new woman! My hair was so incredibly sassy and I was so excited to show it off! So with this extremely LONG but NECESSARY review, here's what I hope you take away from it: 1. Nova Hair Salon is one of the best in the Keller area 2. Barbie and her entire staff truly care about you from the second you walk into that door, and even after you walk out. 3. Barbie and her stylists will accommodate you and be extremely patient with you--they are always extremely attentive to your needs and give fabulous advice when you aren't sure of what to do with your hair. 4.They are always running specials and great deals for haircuts/services so you are getting great quality for a super reasonable price! Worst experience of my life. And I've had my hair done for over a decade. The most expensive place too and I've had the "same" balayage done after for literally half the money! I have pics so hopefully I can add them here. Chelsea not only destroyed my hair -dry, falling out- but left spots in my hair and bleach spots on my face! Went in to get it fixed a week later and it got worse, it got more damage. The spots were still there - looks like cheetah spots- and had bleach on my skin- my cheek, side of my face and neck again. I NEVER had this happen before. Seems like she was in a rush and it just splattered all over. Glad it didn't go in my eyes! My hair was in great shape before I went in, the only dry area were my ends. I talked to Barbie when I went in for a consultation and she said the ends would be left untouched. Chelsea didn't do this however; she could of least done them the last 5 minutes of the process time to avoid breakage. She also NEVER offered to deep condition my hair either time!! I have ALWAYS been offered conditioning treatments in the salon, especially after a bleaching process! Of course I let her know about all of her mistakes and she said and I quote "I'll smudge it" referring to the cheetah-looking spots. She also stated she couldn't touch my hair for at least 8 weeks due to its condition thus proving the horrible mess she made of my hair. I ended conditioning my hair a lot and didn't blow dry or use hot irons for the next 5 weeks and found someone who actually knew what she was doing. (She not only bleached it WITHOUT ANY BREAKAGE and fixed the cheetah-spots but toned it perfectly. Got pics of the before and after too!!!) Feel free to message me for pics- I'd be happy to share. :) If this can help someone save their money and their hair! it would make my year!! Reading other reviews here and on Facebook it seems like they all have something in common- they were treated with disrespect by this salon to say the least.
