Kip - Allison kept me turned away from the mirror the entire time she was drying my hair. I had no idea there was a problem until the evening of 11/27 when I began putting in my extensions. Hosting Thanksgiving the next day, followed by a business trip, charity event, then family in for Christmas, I had not had an opportunity to address the issue before last week. I always tip generously, and again, I had no idea what was going on under the top layer until the following night. I absolutely would have said something before I left the salon had I been aware. I am not sure I understand your position on responsibility here. If Allison had in fact performed a full highlight, and even remotely correctly, 30 days later my hair would show signs of a full light blond highlight. I have not had any corrections done yet, due to the holidays, so let me know if you would like for me to swing by to let you see it firsthand. I drove by Rock N Roll Hair a few times and have to admit I thought, "Really?" But, it's so close to my house that the $15 haircut finally drew me in. Wash my hair at home, come in with it wet and be back home in 20 minutes. And, once inside I realized, pretty cool place run by some cool people! My first experience was with Tara (no longer there) and I was really happy with the haircut. Second time I went I saw Stephanie and she did something magical on my scalp with her fingernails that sent tingles down my back! Never saw her again. I've had haircuts from Chance and Lauren (my female namesake). I've found that as long as I articulate what i want, I'm happy with the cut. Walk-in worked without an appointment and no wait. Only downside is a lack of reference point for the stylist for how my hair is styled dry. One time I asked for a trim and looked down afterwards to see three inches of hair on the floor, which I wasn't happy about. Buuutttt, you know. It grows back. The interior is thoroughly decorated with rock memorabilia, including some selfies of the owners with some serious rock cred celebrities. I have yet to ask about the story behind those. Complementary wine and beer are available. I partake about half the time. The beer is Coronita, a 7 oz. Corona, which is enough for a small buzz. Haven't tried the wine. My only negative experience was showing up at open one Saturday with wet hair when I had to be some where and having to wait for the doors to open for almost 30 minutes. I also called ahead once for a walk-in and ended up not being able to receive a cut before I had to go back to work. So, they set an appointment for me and comped the cut, which I appreciated. Mistakes happen and I always appreciate a business who takes care of customers like this. Recommended! read more

I was fortunate enough to meet the owner and she suggested some sunkissed highlights so I made an appointment for today. I am beyond thrilled with how it turned out! FALSE ADVERTISING!!! Gave this place a try but I shouldve went to my normal place with NaYoung in dallas or Nova in keller. Here's why: 1. Made an appointment for 3 but wasnt greeted by the door. 2 people working on a Sunday but I was standing there for a good 3 minute or so awkwardly until I had to state that I have an appointment. Disorganized. I guess I'm just not used to that level of customer service. And this was my biggest reason for this review: I told them the cut is for my 9 year old daughter & immediately I felt the stylist become annoyed & irritated, so she told me "WE DONT DO KIDS just so you know in the future." (Never coming back). To which I responded "so it's not kid friendly place?" And she said yea, apparently because of the music. But no music was playing. FALSE ADVERTISING!!! on Yelp, they did lots of kids haircuts & even had an ad saying "COOL KIDS WELCOMED", but we werent welcomed at all. At least not my daughter. I got the impression she just didnt want to do it. I guess they're SO busy that they dont need new clients? This felt RACIST, or purely judgmental. I've never!!! I was about to leave then, but didnt feel like driving. So I just stuck it out. Well, I looked over the reviews and wished I read them before coming here. The atmosphere wasn't very welcoming & I see that they DO do kids, I see it in the pictures. But I guess theyll only do kids when they FEEL like it or if it's going to make them money. I'm really offended by this. And she still charged 30$ for the haircut, same as an adult. NO WASH. We werent offered beverages either. Money isnt a problem for me though. I usually tip good & splurge on my own hair and daughters. I'm just offended by the lack of customer service & SHADY business. Never encountered a hair salon that didn't do kids. But actually do as I see in pictures from other customers. The owners response to some of the reviews are so rude & unprofessional as well... I paid, left a 20% tip (lowest I ever left) wish I didnt tip at all! and wont be returning. My daughter deserves better treatment & I definitely have been to better places that treat you & pamper you as a standard. But maybe my standards are high. Idk but this event really upset me. Beware & save your money for places that will welcome your whole family & appreciate your business. (Not excluding your kids or giving preference to some kids over the others). A complete hair rescue!!!! I went to a different salon and had full blonde highlights done at 10am that had me looking like an early 2000s Karen with super blocky/chunky zebra stripes. When I got home I was devastated at the results, and with my engagement photos in 3 days I knew I had no choice but to go somewhere and see what could be salvaged. I saw Rock N Roll Hair on Yelp near me, with a couple bad reviews containing zero negative comments actually related to hair, so I gave it a shot. Right from the start Brooke was a super welcoming voice answering the phone. She was totally understanding and sympathetic and set me up for a consultation within 1.5 hours of when I called (and on a SATURDAY!). When I walked in the door I was immediately greeted by Brooke. She heard my concerns and explained what she wanted to do to fix it as best as she could. She even brought the owner, Kip, to see what was going on and get her input and advice. I could tell right off the bat I was in GREAT hands. Not to mention, Kip offered me a complimentary glass of wine or a beer to take the edge off! After less than 2 hours my hair was a beautiful, blended, golden blonde. I couldn't be happier with the results. It felt so fried when I walked in and felt soft and silky and healthy when I left, even after being processed and washed twice in the same day. I am beyond satisfied with my experience here and am so happy to have found this place. The atmosphere is awesome and very chill and I will definitely be returning. *UPDATED REVIEW* I truly thought I had finally found my "hair home" at this salon. However, after a series of events, I will not be back. Period. Twice now, I have ended up with brassy hair. Super brassy! The first time I brought it to the owners attention, she did offer for me to come back to have it fixed. I just ended up living with it until my next appointment due to my schedule. This last time, it was so brassy it was yellow. After trying every product I could, trying to pull any amount of brass out to no avail, I reached out to Lauren for any suggestions because I had a meeting the next day & didn't want to show up with my hair the way it was. She suggested a specific toner for me to do at home. I have had to tone my own hair 3 days now, which has yet to make a significant difference. Now here is the kicker.......apparently, the owner says I'm a "bigot"! I'm still trying to wrap my head around that one. I have been called many things in my lifetime, but a bigot isn't one of them. Supposedly, a conversation between myself, my husband & the stylist that the owner "overheard", lead to the conclusion of us being bigots. If she truly heard what was being said she would understand the fact that it was the complete polar opposite of bigotry!!! (The discussion was actually about my husband, who caused a HUGE scene in a well known retail store, STANDING UP for LGBTQ RIGHTS!!!) I am an EXTREMELY open minded person. I support people from all walks of life & will fight for all of them whenever necessary!!!! Always will! I have countless family members as well as countless close friends who are LBGTQ!!! I love & support them ALL of them just the same. I'm a true believer in complete equality & humanity!!!!! So for an owner of a business to throw such a hateful slur, so loosely, about a PAYING customer to which you do not know & obviously, did not listen to what was truly being said is utterly & completely mind blowing. This is NOT okay on ANY level. That is NOT a word to be used so carelessly against someone. That word could be extremely damaging to someone's reputation. I refuse to spend my hard earned money on a salon, of which, the owner feels like derogatory & completely inaccurate titles about her customers is an acceptable thing to do. *INITIAL REVIEW* Super Rad salon!!!! Obviously, the name of the business gives you a heads up on the salon vibes that you can expect to have. Lauren is my stylist there & she is one of the bests. Walked me through everything (she was fixing a mishap w/my hair from a previous salon/stylist) & explained the reasons behind her suggestions. I have NEVER had a stylist do that. And I have been coloring my hair for 20 years!!! The salon is laid back, comfy & welcoming! I'm not a fan of uptight salons/stylist. I want to feel like I can be me. As luck would have it I found Rock N Roll Hair. I was hesitant walking in but we were greeted so warmly by Allie I exhaled with relief. Allie really took the time to make us feel comfortable by showing us around and sharing the story of the owner and her history with the fabulous photos on the walls. Bryn was our stylist and I could see her connection with my daughter immediately. This is the coolest hair salon I've ever been in. Just being inside the building boosted my confidence 1,000,000%, like, I must be amazing for even finding this place. I loved the music that was playing, I wanted to be or at least be best friends with all of the stylists. I'll admit, I was a little intimidated but only because everyone there was so unapologetically themselves and were entirely one-of-a-kind unique individuals. Now for the hair cut, loved it! I came in today with a "hair emergency"-- my daughter tangled a comb in my (long) hair, badly, which I assumed would result in a very short haircut. Kip (and two other stylists) were the most kind and genuine people I could have possibly seen. They took their time with me, despite it being the end of the day, and skillfully removed the comb with minimal hair needing to be cut, and then didn't even charge me for their time (despite me insisting otherwise). I've never in my life been treated so bad before! The manager of the salon is SO rude and unprofessional. She was rude from the beginning. I cried the whole entire time I was there. I would have left if I didn't already have dye in my hair. The stylist didn't do anything wrong. There was confusion on how I wanted my hair, in the end I wasn't happy but that's not a big deal. It's hair and it will grow back. However at the end when I was paying the stylist asked if she could take photos and I said no and she was ok with that. Then the manager comes over in my face taking several photos and I asked her to stop OVER and OVER. She said no I don't have too. This is my salon. I told her she was being so rude. While I was in the salon chair I looked up reviews and found several bad ones regarding the owner of the salon being rude and talking down to people. I then again asked her to delete my photos and she WOULD NOT. I mentioned how a lot of the reviews said she was rude and why was she being SO rude to me. She said she is only rude to ME! Clients were then video recording me and laughing. How is $225 hair cut/dye you aren't happy with funny? I told her I was going to make a bad review and she threatened me and said if I did she would release a video of me upset and me calling her a bad name. I also told her as a salon owner she could make this right BY JUST deleting the photos of me. She refused and then called the cops on me. I'm literally speechless! I cried the entire time I was there due to her rudeness from the very beginning. How can you treat a paying client this way? DO NOT use this salon!!!!
