Billing nightmare. I visited this facility for a finger X-ray, but their machine was broken. While…read moreI was there, I was also tested for COVID. Despite the facility being in-network with my insurance, they submitted the claim as out-of-network. Since January, I have called their billing department more than six times and spoken with multiple representatives--Keywana, Cynthia, Trajdtta, Tressa, and Angela. I even had my insurance company join the calls to walk them through how to properly file the claim. Unfortunately, it was still submitted incorrectly. As a result, instead of the expected $50 emergency visit copay, my Explanation of Benefits shows a patient responsibility of $801. What's especially frustrating is that I took my daughter to the same facility the week prior for the exact same issue (at a time when their X-ray machine was working), and her claim was processed correctly. Despite repeated guidance from my insurance company, the billing department has been unable to follow the proper procedures. This has been an extremely frustrating experience, and I will not be returning to this facility. I even asked for the manager of the billing department and they refused to put me in contact with them. Apparently, the way they submitted the claim for my daughter who has the same insurance as me and had the same exact reason for visit (fractured bone/X-Ray) was different that the way they submitted mine and I am very disappointed that they are not willing to follow the direction they were given by CareFirst insurance company. This place is in network with my insurance and they could choose to file it as in network, but when I tried to give my daughter's name to Angela today, she was not even willing to get the info and rejected it. Very unprofessional billing staff.

From check-in, exam room, to exit, I received great service and care. I've gone to them twice in four months for pneumonia and then COVID, and again, the entire staff took great care of me. SO, as mentioned above I needed an urgent care facility as I was feeling beyond miserable and my local tried and true facility wasn't open for some odd reason so I searched and found this establishment. Reviews were great so I said perfect, yet upon arrival I literally sat in my car second guessing even going in because I've been spoiled by the likes of Inova and Patient First where "curb appeal" is a thing (& matters). Yet I got over myself and went in because as I said I was sick! Upon entry I again said maybe I need to keep searching because you literally can see the dust on many of the items that are both on the floor and strewn upon the tables and walls .... and there's so much tattered signage on the wall you don't know what to look at or what's relevant .... But the service! The front desk woman was phenomenal! Her "bedside manner" was top notch as I listened to her ease the worries of folks on the phone and simultaneously take care of me and one other patient. She was truly the shining star of this establishment. And my wait time was non existent which was really nice! I completed paperwork, insurance was verified and the doctor saw me right away. The doctor was interesting because I felt as though she was more interested in my nail design and handbag than in truly paying attention to what I was sharing about my illness.... But she diagnosed me and sent my prescriptions right over to the pharmacy with no issues. So, as I said in the beginning, tough review to write because the service provided was pretty good, however, the packaging in which it all was wrapped was tattered and we all know presentation matters, so, this was a one and done experience for me and I'll be returning to Inova or Patient First where I feel cleanliness standards are met,

Very poor check-in system. Took about 35 min to complete an on-phone sign-in process. Receptionist…read morerepeatedly said they probably had my records from a previous visit but I still had to complete it on my phone (albeit she helped another patient complete the check-in on the office's tablet!) After incredibly long time waiting for uploaded documents, the timed session expired to complete the on-phone sign-in. I told the receptionist who then, somehow was able to access the form on her computer. She said she signed my name on the online form to complete it. Is that legal? When I eventually was seen, a man came into the room and introduced himself by his first name, only. Had no idea if he was a licenced doctor, nurse, or PA. I was feeling so ill by that time, I didn't care. Just wanted to leave. I had such a great experience at this place a year ago that I had bragged to others about it. The experience today will be the reason I won't use this location, again.

When he came out he said they thought he had the flu but they never ran a test. My Mom is a nurse so I called to see if that was normal and she confirmed that it was not and most health care facilities carry tests all year round. When I went to talk to the front desk to see why they didn't run the test the front desk staff started talking with the nurses making comments about his "age", belitting him for needing a advocate and quote how "mother dearest" wants to talk to the nurse. (Keep in mind he's already nuerodivergent and is running a 103 fever so advocating himself is extremely difficult). They explained they don't stock flu tests during the summer (which we would have just gone to the CVS if we knew they didnt have the resources to test) which is all we needed to know but I was appalled at the treatment, disrespect, and discrimination and will never be using a CareNow again.

There is a real emergency room at Lansdowne Hospital just a few miles away, and like I said before unless you get hit in the parking lot by a unruly driver (I would still recommend you think twice) go to Lansdowne where they wont rip you off with predatory contracts, and unsavory billing methods. Hopefully their will be something useful to the community moving in when they file Bankruptcy. Their business practices are criminal to say the least. Fat-cat business managers telling young uniformed employees what to say because they do not have the fortitude to pick up the phone and talk to disgruntled customers. My fiancé and I showed up promptly at 8:30 am on Saturday 7/27. We payed $200 for the service upon entry. We were seen very quickly as we were the only ones there that early. The doctor looked at my ankle and touched it in one area which hurt and she just said, "ok, I'm going to put you on antibiotic". She left the room and that was it! No diagnosis nothing! The nurse came back in with two pieces of paper. My diagnosis was Cellulitis which can be very serious! My mother was hospitalized for it once before. I started the antibiotic immediately and by the following day (today) I had spiked a fever of 102.2 and had many aches. I called for advice as my paperwork says that I should "return for a final examination in 7-10 days or sooner if signs of systemic infection (eg, fever with expanding cellulitis) or abscess recurrence are present". I explained my symptoms and was merely told that I should go to the hospital for bloodwork if I'd like. I've already spent $200 at this point and was given no verbal instructions on how to care for this or signs to watch out for. I called back to ask for answers to my questions since I had spent $200. This was at 3:15 and they told me that they were very busy and would call when they can. My life could be in danger and I think I deserve instructions and answers before I go pay through the roof hospital bills during my insurance lapse before my new job which starts tomorrow! If I was going to have to do that anyway I would have gone there first and saved myself the initial $200 at urgent care! Fast forward to 7/31 the infection got worse! I went to Patient First where the customer service was superb and it's much more affordable paying out of pocket. After blood work and changing my prescription to the correct one the amount was lower than what I paid at Express Care for nothing positive! They had put me on the wrong meds at Express Care and even after experiencing many of the serious side effects they advised me to continue use of the meds they had prescribed. Very unhappy and I want my money back!
