Despite the facility being in-network with my insurance, they submitted the claim as out-of-network. Since January, I have called their billing department more than six times and spoken with multiple representatives--Keywana, Cynthia, Trajdtta, Tressa, and Angela. I even had my insurance company join the calls to walk them through how to properly file the claim. Unfortunately, it was still submitted incorrectly. As a result, instead of the expected $50 emergency visit copay, my Explanation of Benefits shows a patient responsibility of $801. What's especially frustrating is that I took my daughter to the same facility the week prior for the exact same issue (at a time when their X-ray machine was working), and her claim was processed correctly. Despite repeated guidance from my insurance company, the billing department has been unable to follow the proper procedures. This has been an extremely frustrating experience, and I will not be returning to this facility. I even asked for the manager of the billing department and they refused to put me in contact with them. Apparently, the way they submitted the claim for my daughter who has the same insurance as me and had the same exact reason for visit (fractured bone/X-Ray) was different that the way they submitted mine and I am very disappointed that they are not willing to follow the direction they were given by CareFirst insurance company. This place is in network with my insurance and they could choose to file it as in network, but when I tried to give my daughter's name to Angela today, she was not even willing to get the info and rejected it. My fiance was joking around, trying to lighten the mood, and one of the nurse's assistants was definitely not having it. Maybe she had a rough night too? They gave me a medical shoe, crutches and referred me to an orthopedic doctor. All in all, a quick, efficient visit with mainly nice and helpful staff.

When I go in for my results, I sit in the patient room for like 45 minutes. When I walked in, there was maybe one other person, not sure who else in the back. So it didn't seem busy. He finally comes to talk to me for like 10 minutes and the things mentioned are things I could've seen off the results of the tests. They charged my insurance for a "long" visit. $160. Apparently, it's based on when I walk in, even if they take forever to see me. I called about the $200 in claims and say I didn't want to go in the office, if I didn't have to, and I asked for what's covered. They didn't budge on the charges. I called my insurance and they called the office directly. Luckily, the insurance representative got some of it waived. Summary... I go in for an insurance covered physical. They end up charging me over $200 in claims.
