The biggest reason was Jon Bernal. From the beginning, Jon was knowledgeable, responsive, and incredibly patient with all of my questions regarding financing, warranties, production estimates, and the overall process. He never pressured us and always took the time to make sure we understood everything before moving forward. The installation team was professional, the workmanship looks great, and the communication throughout the project was excellent. If you're considering solar, I highly recommend asking for Jon Bernal. He made what could have been a complicated process feel straightforward and transparent. Thank you, Jon and the entire SunMade team, for a great experience.

After interviewing approximately seven solar companies, reading reviews, comparing pricing,…read moreevaluating customer service, and reviewing BBB ratings, I ultimately chose SunMade Solar Energy to expand my existing solar system. One thing that stood out immediately was that their pricing was highly competitive with the other companies I considered. While pricing was important, what really set SunMade apart was that they hold both solar and roofing licenses. This gave me additional confidence because I previously had a bad experience with another solar company that damaged my roof, failed to fix the problem, and later went out of business, leaving me to pay for the repairs myself. Our sales representative, Jon Bernal, was professional, patient, and knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions and never made me feel rushed. There was one item that the system designer later clarified, and although it wasn't a major issue, Jon personally reached out to notify me of the changes. That level of integrity and accountability meant a lot to me and demonstrated that he genuinely cares about his customers. The installation crew was professional, arrived on time, kept the work area clean, and communicated well throughout the process. After installation, I noticed a section of concrete that had become uneven due to settling. I contacted SunMade, and they returned within days to correct the issue and followed up to ensure everything was satisfactory. That kind of customer service is becoming increasingly rare. The entire process moved efficiently. Our first meeting with Jon was on March 28, we signed on March 30, the system was installed on April 27, the meter collar was installed on May 13, and we received Permission to Operate about a week later. Jon also helped us identify and secure available rebates. I would also like to thank Tara in the office. When I needed copies of my contract documents, she provided them promptly and without hesitation. Another positive observation is that the owner, Oz, appears to be actively involved with the company and personally responds to customer reviews. I noticed this during my initial research and felt it reflected a company that values customer feedback and satisfaction. At the time of this review, SunMade Solar Energy held an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. Based on my experience, they delivered competitive pricing, excellent communication, professional workmanship, and outstanding customer service. I would not hesitate to recommend SunMade Solar Energy to anyone considering solar for their home.

Once it was time to put the solar on the house, the guys who came out did a great job installing my solar and were able to finish the install by the time I got home. When I called mySolarEdge to ask why I did not get consistent notifications, they said it was because the installer, Solar Negotiators, had put themselves as the "owner admin" and receive the notifications. They also informed me that these notifications are free as they are part of the app. I called Solar negotiators back and I was informed that they do get notifications from mySolarEdge. They initially stated that it was my responsibility to inform them of when my solar panels are not working so that they can repair it. However, when I reminded them that I do not even get notifications from my app because they are the owner admin, they admitted that they do receive notifications for my system and that they would normally catch it and reach out to me to repair it. They also stated that they have been busy over the Spring and therefore had not been able to address the issue in a timely manner. They advised me to send them a tru-up bill in order to receive reimbursement. I reached out to a representative on June 4th and provided them with my tru-up bill. However, they would not provide me with any updates or status changes unless I prompted them with emails. Finally, after my fifth prompt, I received an email from a customer representative informing me that I was responsible for notifying them of any loss of power and they would not be able to reimburse me at this time. This is completely different than what I was told on the phone previously. I believe this company was using misinformation and delayed responses in order to not address my issue. In addition, I was never informed that they had control over my account, which I believe is a tactic to force me to either consider paying an additional cost for their monitoring app, "Know Tru-up", or risk not get reimbursed when my system loses power without my knowledge. Edit: Cindy, the Chief Administrative Officer, did reach out to me and was very pleasant in trying to help me. She reached out to Solaredge and was also informed by them that Solar Negotiators did have full administrative access and that they could grant it to me. She attempted to work with making that change but nothing has occurred in the past two weeks. My review still stands but I do appreciate leadership taking accountability and trying to remedy the situation.

Even when they do show up, several panels are often missed, and I have to bring them to their attention. In addition, they have broken several roof tiles in the past and had to replace them. The people performing the actual cleaning are usually young adults (kids, in my book) who seem to lack basic customer service skills when I communicate what needs to be done. Today, when I called to ask whether they were still coming for my scheduled cleaning, the customer service representative asked, "Did you receive an email confirming that we were actually coming? All appointments are scheduled as tentative." That's not how appointments are supposed to work. If you schedule an appointment, you show up. If you can't make it, you notify the customer. According to their system, customers are apparently expected to assume the company will not come unless they receive additional confirmation. That approach is completely backward and unacceptable. Needless to say, I will be looking for another company to maintain my solar panels.

Installed without me paying 1 penny mind you. It's been working great ever since. My payment for the system is $15 a month! Next year it will go up to around $130. My PG&E is $10.00 a month. I am saving a bundle. So far this year I accumulated close to $500 coming back for the extra electricity sold TO PG&E. Oh, yeah and I am getting back around $7500 from the government come tax time. I can keep that money, or pay down my loan and have less than $100 paayment each month. So, what's the deal with all these 1 star reviews?? Our family has been a victim of PG&E's expensive and unethical practices for years, and the approach to this install was very important to us. Jason is a true master of his craft, bringing intelligence, creative insight, and remarkable integrity to every aspect of his work. He generously put up with my highly analytic and data driven approach to the install plan, sourced our Tesla batteries and panels at far, far below market value (beating out numerous competitors by a truly considerable margin), refused to charge more than his quote even when unexpected costs arose, and offered transparent, excellent planning and communication every step of the way. Jason and his installation team produced an aesthetically clean, 20 panel array befitting our historic home, integrated our new array with our existing one in a difficult and customized way requiring thousands of feet of wiring/conduit, and achieved a commercial grade, quality install of 2 Tesla Powerwall 3 batteries that have now fully liberated us from PG&E grid dependence. As Jason himself predicted, in just 2.5 weeks, our new system has exported 700 kwh to the grid, and imported 0 kwh. We are now fully in control of our power, and no longer at the mercy of PG&E, now, or in the future. Financially, this is utterly lifechanging for our family. So, for anyone considering Sunrun, or other companies, do not move forward until you have given Jason Batman and Power Pro's Electric and Solar a chance first. They will easily beat out competitor pricing by a large margin, and produce a system of truly remarkable craftsman quality. I cannot recommend Jason and his team highly enough, and our family owes Jason and his team a tremendous debt of gratitude.

That changed when our neighbour installed solar and suggested we speak with Supreme Solar. I gave them a call, and shortly after, Dave Dickinson returned my message. From the very first conversation, Dave was incredibly patient and took the time to walk us through his ideas for our home. His proposal included not only the solar system but also an upgraded electrical panel, an EV charging station, and a new roof. Because we rent our home out, making sure everything was done properly and efficiently was very important to us. Dave brought Mohamed Kastiro into the discussions, and Mohamed provided detailed drawings showing the proposed panel layout. We made a few tweaks along the way, and at no point did we ever feel like we were bothering them. In fact, the entire team made us feel welcome and supported throughout the process. The installation itself was fantastic. Every step of the project was clearly communicated, timelines were respected, and when the crew said they would arrive at a certain time, they did. That level of reliability is rare these days. We also have to mention Samantha Lee in the office. Sam was amazing--always following up, keeping us informed, and making sure everything stayed on track. We are currently awaiting final approval from Southern California Edison, and as of today's update, everything appears to be in order. Our neighbours were so impressed with the process and the installation that they have now contracted Supreme Solar to complete the same project for their home. What seemed like a good start in late Dec 2025, things were complicated by changes in regulations around the tax credits for homeowners. There was little to no communication from them, unless we checked in on status. After a few months, the initial estimate had to be revised and we proceeded toward install. Initial plans on the location of the batteries became another issue. During a planning walk-through with the text, we were under an understanding the batteries would be placed in our garage. Months passed as we waited for their next steps. Once we got the revised estimate we were then told the earlier location was going to be costly. No one had bothered to look at these earlier documents during that time. There were a couple delays in installation day appointments, and then we learned the approved plans needed to be revised and approved again. So, pending approval and then an inspection, we cannot export anything to the grid. Overall, my advice to any future customer is to know exactly what you're getting into with Supreme Solar. Nice people and they promise the moon. However, their timelines and promises have not been our reality.
