Not feeling well, and dropped in a Drs Care, Little River, SC Over two visits I highly recommend their NP - Andrea Nans and Holly Poplin. Both are very skilled with their professional demeanor. Tina Tobias was manning their Front Desk and was efficient and so helpful. When you are not feeling well it's great to have someone who understands. The wait was not that long, as they have free wireless for your phone/ devices. Knowing that every case has its own unique circumstances, I realized that it might take a bit of time to be seen. In my experience, it was less than a hour in both cases. So my experience was a pleasant one with written RX's as it actually took more time filling my RX's than seeing both NP's AAA rating .. I'm just happy that we have such competent care in our area, which may help you bypass a longer wait at our hospitals. Walked into the clinic today with my son who had a terrible earache. We are on vacation and this was the closest urgent care. As we arrived the app said we would only have 3 people ahead of us. What I didn't know was that you could check in online and bypass people that have been waiting. We weren't told to expect a long wait but everyone after us was! After 2 hours my son was finally called back for vitals. The nurse taking his info wasn't very friendly, which is fine, but when She asked me what pharmacy we use I started to explain that we don't live here, and she cut me off mid-sentence to say in a condescending voice "well I can see that". My point in telling her we are from out of town was to get her recommendation for pharmacy closest to where we are staying. Another hour in the waiting room and we finally got back into a room. Thirty minutes later a PA came in to check out my son. She was great, kind, gentle, etc. She diagnosed him with an ear infection and called in an RX. 3.5 hours later we were finally out of there!! They need to get more staff or a better way of doing things. read more

Completely inept! I went in with something piercing my foot and was diagnosed with a planters wart. I was referred to a podiatrist, who spent a total 2 min and $125 to remove a small piece of wire. No wart. If you can't tell the difference between a wart and a piece wire you do not belong in the medical field! GO GET A JOB IN FAST FOOD!!!! read more

Most folks visiting an urgent center are in a state of anxiety if not sheer panic. I visited on 6/23/24 and was quite pleasantly surprised. The staff was wholly professional, efficient and most importantly amiable. From the patient young lady at the front desk to my extraordinary nurse Bailey, I was immediately put at ease while issues were thoroughly explained - first rate for sure. I had to see a doctor while on vacation and this was the closest place to where I was staying. The experience from beginning to and end was excellent. The front desk, nurse and NP were all very professional while also being friendly and caring. I arrived 10 minutes after they opened and I had tree people in front of me, it took about 1 hour to be seen by the NP. Total time in-and-out was 1.5 hours. They called in my prescription and I was able to pick it up on my way back. read more

There are two problems: 1. The managers of the company have set rules that maximize profit even it if causes major inconvienceor poor outcomes to the patients. 2. The front office doesn't appear interested in helping people have a good experience. We were seen yesterday and it was a 1.5 hour wait. We were satisfied, although the weight was long given only one other patient was seen during this time. We needed 3 shots of antibiotics over 3 days. These can be ordered at the time of care. However, to maximize income you have to see a provider each time you get a shot. The cheaper alternative is to order the antibiotics ahead of time and administer it as a nurse visit. Unfortunately we had to wait over 2 hours to see a provider on the second visit. Worst of all the new provider that didn't see the problem to begin with will second guess the first provider, saying you don't need the injectable antibiotics at all. Fortunately provider #1 had anticipated this lapse in care and asked me to take of picture of what was being treated. Because I had a picture I didn't get poor medical care, just inconvient and unnecessarily costly medical care. Fortunately, his problem could be easily seen on camera. Both nurse practitioners were dissatified with the system Practitioner 1: "I will put it in my note you need injectable antibiotcs for 3 days, but sometimes they don't always do what I say." Practitioner 2: "Please complain about this it causing us a lot of problems. I wish they would change it." read more

I read many of the previous comments. This Urgent must have had some serious issues at one time. I have been there twice, once about a year ago and yesterday for a piece of glass in my foot. A year ago they were fine and took care of me well. Yesterday the service was terrific. I was seen first by the nurse who did all the vitals, and then the nurse practitioner Judith Heintz. She was not only efficient in finding and removing a small piece of glass, but also compassionate and friendly. A real pleasure. The entire staff was excellent. I realize that being an Emergency care facility, sometimes there may be a wait, the same as emergency rooms in hospitals, but I found they all do their very best to take care of everyone. This is the worst place, the receptionist is as dumb as a stick, God help her if she had to hurry. Waited 3 hours to see a doctor 3 mins. One person in and when they finally came out, 30 mins later, one went in. I am completely dissatisfied. No one cares there, so if you think you want to take your family there,think again. Go to CVS, at least the time they tell you is your time, is really the truth. Doctors care it will be 15 minutes and we will bring you back, 3 hours later we're done and yes it was the flu and no one even asked us to put on a mask, while we sat in a room with a lot of people ill! I have been here several times over the past few years and have always received excellent medical care. So I do highly recommend them.

I have never written a review ever about anything. I have ate at restaurants that had bad service or the food was sub par... Stayed at hotels/resorts that did not live up to expectations. Contractors that did not do what was promised. NEVER wrote a review... Went here for a simple wellness exam. An exam that should take less than 15 min. I was there 1 1/2 hours when I finally walked out. I could see if it were busy. I could see if I was there in a busy season. Nope. Me and one other family. To top things off, while waiting in the lobby for over 45 min. By myself. I decided to count all of the dead Palmetto bugs on the floor... Almost a dozen. This place needs a serious overhaul. If I ran my business like this I wouldn't have one... They say urgent care but there is nothing urgent about them. Several months ago my wife was in there with my youngest daughter (2 years old with a bad cough)and she told me it took over 2 hours before she saw the Dr. ( I use that term loosely). read more

AWFUL!!! Went into the Shelby Ray Court West Ashley location. Needed a renewal on scrip I've been taking for years and briefly stopped for about 8 months to give my body a break. Had bloodwork done I month after having been ON scrip for over a year. Came back clear and was still valid when trying to renew the scrip 7 months later (meds free mind you). Gave me the scrip, but refused to set up refills!! Kept saying I had to come in for follow-up visit and bloodwork, have been through this FOUR times in as the past few months. RIDICULOUS!! All they want is money, so they keep making you come back for "follow-ups". DONE! Not as convenient, but I'll be going to a REAL doctor from now on. read more

Upon entering we immediately were asked what we were in there for, loudly . Whole waiting room quiet as could be all staring because there's nothing else to do. Why do the people at the front desk feel the need to ask why a patient is being seen today in front of everyone in a quiet waiting room. It's no one else's business . That's why you fill out the paperwork . It needs to be discreet. I am disgusted and aggravated by today. It wasn't even for me and I was so furious. There needs to be privacy!!!!! What if I was in there thinking I was having a miscarriage, the whole entire waiting room would know. That is not ok and I'm so sad about the situation For my husband. He has a uti and was peeing blood and he was embarrassed about it already so to see the look in his face when he had to announce why then put my hormones in overload I had to walk out I was angry, upset, and all of the emotions you could have. During my time here, which was way too long for the amount of "nurses" sitting on their tails, I heard nearly everything about these ladies' lives including some vulgar language I did not wish to hear. This was absoluteley the worst experience I've ever had at a Dotors office. There were four cars in the parking lot when I arrived. It took 3 1/2 hours to see a PA, not even a Doctor. I counted 6 people that went back to the exam rooms before I was called back. I'm not sure what they were doing in the back of the office, but it wasn't taking care of patients. I give one star because the staff has been extremely insensitive, curt, and rude. I've been sick for about 5 months now with a lot of brown yellow chunky phlegm and being that I was allergic to penicillin I was originally prescribed antibiotics that the doctor (whom is a very nice man) said could rupture my tendons even after I finish the medication. I've had surgery on my tendon in my foot so that wasn't an option for me, we went with plan C- clarythromycin for 14 days which did not fully work.... I had some deaths in my family so I wasn't able to return immediately, and relapsed. I was then told it's allergies with a bacterial component whatever that means and prescribed doxycycline, methylprednisolone, and allergy medicines for 10 days and spent $157 at the pharmacy to still not only 70% better. I called to get an extension on the antibiotics for maybe 4 more days for a full 2 weeks to hopefully do the trick but was told by a ride old receptionist that the doctor couldn't respond to messages before all the patients were taken care of. I felt really upset because I am a patient ... I've come in twice as a 24 year old student with no insurance and didn't $120 twice to be seen. She also told me my doctor wasn't in but there was a female doctor there who could write the prescription so I said ok to that on Friday ..... and my message was neglected till Monday. So I called again the next day practically crying to a different younger receptionist telling her I'm worried because I'm not getting better ... she was very sweet to me and assured me the doctor would get my message. About 11 hours later I got a call from Matt who was the absolute rudest condescending know it all and barely let me complete a sentence without cutting me off. I don't know if he had any medical experience or if he's just a receptionist too but if he does ... that's even more a discredit to this place because patients don't need to be made to feel that way when they're just trying to get help. He treated me like everything I said was stupid and my problem was insignificant. I could practically hear the eye rolls. Anyway he said the only thing they can do for me now since I've tried all these antibiotics is some steroids and allegedly medicine to help my body heal. I said ok to this but he doesn't seem to care or listen that the antibiotics DID make me better... very much ... I just didn't get to that 100% better ... and as soon as I finished the antibiotics I could feel myself slipping back into misery ... more phlegm ... bad color... pain ... etc. The first time I relapsed I couldn't even get out of bed. ... that doesn't sound like allergies to me. I don't think I've ever written a poor review about a place before. But I felt like a number not a patient to most of the staff there. read more

We were visiting relatives from out of town and decided to go to Doctors Care when my 3 year old son developed croup. We got there just as they opened, and only had to wait for one person ahead of us to be seen. The tech that brought us back was amazing, and made my son feel comfortable. He took his time and played around with him while he took vital signs. The doctor was equally great, and my son enjoyed playing with him while he was examined. I was a little nervous about not taking him to see a pediatrician, but I would definitely recommend taking children there for care, especially if they are in from out of town and can't see their regular pediatrician. read more

They worked me in. I felt horrible so I went home and they called me back in. I had an abcessed tooth and was in considerable pain. The doctor was absolutely wonderful. The nurse was kind, compassionate, and great. The front desk employees, however, are lacking. They are a little on the rude side and just do not reflect the care and compassion from the rest of the staff. They need a course in patient care. read more

Worst health care experience ever. My 18 old month was sick with a fever and sore throat. We arrived at around 2pm with one person in the lobby. Were not seen until after 4pm. Initially they told us we could not been seen there because of the type of insurance we have and we have United Health. We've never had problems with our insurance being rejected. My son's prescriptions were supposed to be sent to CVS. My wife tried to pick them up that evening and they did not have them. I called the Urgent Care and was told that they did send them to CVS and that CVS needed to call them. Called CVS back and they told us the doctor would have to call them. A day later and my son is still sick with no medicine. We will never use this Urgent Care again. read more

I walk-in to the Little River office on Monday Dec 8th. I was told there is a 2 hour wait and I could leave and they will call me when it is my turn. I agree and go home. I get a phone call 2 hours later and was told I could come back. I went back,, sat in the waiting room for a couple mins before being taken to the back. I was put in a small room with my wife for 45 mins, and when it got stuffy I opened the door. The office manager came in and said I wasn't allowed to have the door open. I told her I've been waiting a long time, and I was called to come in. I asked why call me to come in if you're just going to have me wait here? I told her i left the door open because it was stuffy. She said either I have to keep the door closed, or wait outside in the waiting room. We agreed to wait in the waiting room. Another 15 mins go by and they are taking other people into the back. Now we've been waiting an hour and still have no clue when we will see the doctor. We told the front desk we were leaving. That we didn't feel it was right to call us at home, tell us to come in, and still have to wait an hour. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! They steal your money and don't know what they're talking about. A few days ago, I went in complaining of severe abdominal pain. The doctor was terrible and wouldn't stop talking even after asking me questions, and kept interrupting. After 10 minutes of his confused looks, he came back in and said he'd like to do a pelvic exam. Keep in mind the pain is in my upper abdomen as well. He would ask a handful of questions while scooting towards the door, and by his last question, the only thing in the room was his head, leaving me no room for questions. Very unprofessional doctor and made me feel worse when he poked and prodded even when I said it hurt. Not only did they diagnose me with something completely unrelated, they charged me $211 to be there long enough to get a pelvic exam done. The nurses are very nice, so its a shame they work for someone so unintelligent. Feeling unsatisfied with my diagnosis, and being in more pain on their medicine, I went to Seacoast Medical Hospital the next day, the doctor there was short and sweet, but asked me things, allowing me to talk, took bloodwork and urine tests, tested all possible things he could, and came back with not one, but two diagnoses. He revealed that I did not in fact have what the doctor the day before said I did, but I had a urinary infection and a viral infection. I'm so happy I went and got it fixed before it got bad. I just wanted to save anyone that went there some time and money. Go to Seacoast. They're nice, quick, and although more expensive if you choose to pay it, there is no up front fee and they'll get you on a payment plan unlike Doctor's Care. I was "not to leave the premises until I paid Doctor's Care"...I hope my story is some help. read more

The YELP reviews were mixed but I was in need to care and was glad that I chose your facility in Little River. The system to notify you of where you are in the queue is a real plus and after showing up at the facility, I was told that my wait might be 40-60 minutes, but in actuality was less than 30 minutes. The receptionist was very helpful. The assistant was new, but very professional and helpful. I was really pleased with the care received by Dr. Campbell. She was very thorough and explained the cause of my symptoms, asking relevant questions and prescribing medication after explaining her rationale. The staff helped me find the most convenient CVS store to pick up the medication. I am grateful for your service and would recommend you to those in need of it. Thanks. read more
